@mousieone It's important to point out, that Linnemann himself is unsure about this, and that he actually doesn't say it would be impossible on a technical level.
I can see nothing here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MT_Framework that suggests a hard incompatibility to the Xbox platform. Monster Hunter World was the last game using the framework, and that was released on Xbox One. So, even if we assume some shenanigans is going on with PS5 and X/S, Capcom could have released the collection for Xbox One - parallel to the PS4 release. You can play Xbox One games on X/S.
Note how Linnemann also talks about an investment Capcom would likely have to make, if they released for Xbox One. Meaning, he thinks it's generally possible. He literally mentions the parts that would be involved. Which brings us right back to my point - it's expected by Capcom to not make any money worth the investment. This forecast right there is something every Xbox customer should be a bit worried about.
This idea is nonsensical. There is no sane reason why the MT engine wouldn't run on an Xbox One or Series.
The reason the game isn't ported is much simpler. It's not profitable. The fighting games community is relatively small to begin with. On top of that, the user base of Xbox is too small, compared to the others, and the part of it that would buy this collection is miniscule. We can be happy, that we got SF6 (SF5 skipped Xbox entirely). If you play online you rarely see Xbox symbols, meaning, even such a heavy weight didn't sell well on the platform. Sony, Nintendo, and PC all have a long history and larger user base concerning fighting games. Outside Killer Instinct, Xbox has not.
The worse Xbox as a hardware platform performs, the more we will see such things, which opens up a nice downward spiral.
This is some next level corporate BS. FF7R does nothing what other multi plat games haven't done before. Stop shaking your ass in front of Sony's face!
@GeminiReign Laughing about this is a bit childish, tbh. Have you ever pirated a game, film, or music and were called by the license holder to stop doing what you are doing? Probably not. It's a rare occurrence, but as you know there were others who had legal issues because of it. No matter how improbable, legally speaking, it's still within their rights to void your license whenever they please. But don't worry, it most likely won't happen, because, as said, no one is interested in this. What I want to say with this is: This goes for physical as well as digital copies. Meaning, the anxiety about digital is really unsubstantiated.
Name a few games that are not longer digitally playable, but only as a physical copy. On the other side, disc drives break. Physical media changes, becomes incompatible. CDs, DVDs, BDs break, scratch, have limited longevity. They literally die while being used and lying around. In the long run that's a lot of avoidable waste.
There is no real advantage in physical media. There is only a subjective fuzzy good feeling, and from my point of view that's simply not enough to warrant keeping this crap alive. These shiny round plastic frisbees will thankfully some day go the way of floppy disks and cassettes. I just wish it was sooner rather than later.
@GeminiReign If they wanted they could simply say you are not allowed to play this game any longer. You do not own the game. You have the license to use/play the game. They can legally void said license. Every time you start the game you would pirate the game and you know how this works. I doubt anyone would do it, because they don’t want to - as said.
Same with digital purchases. No one wants to disable them. I own hundreds, there is not one that was shut down without physical copies not being affected as well. If the game, login, or licensing server is down, your physical copy will do jack for you.
This plastic crap can't die fast enough. It's just not reasonable. Not in a economical sense, not in a ecological sense, not in a consumer's right sense. People don't need dust collectors, and they also don't own the game because they bought the physical version. If a publisher or developer want's to void your right of use they can do so with digital and physical copies. Doesn't even need a technical measure for this. So, what's really needed is better laws that protect the consumer from arbitrariness.
I know many people want a Xbox handheld, but I honestly don't know how such a device could be viable. To make this work, it should at least be as powerful as the Series S, which would drain the battery in no time. Alternatively, the handheld could be weaker than the Series S, which opens up a third performance budget developers had to cater to.
First issue, the Series-S-is-holding-everything-back-crowd would go nuts over this new thing - this includes some inapt developers, spewing false claims. Second issue, developers who know what there are doing would then ask themselves whether it is financially feasible to go back and port their older titles to this new platform. I doubt many would do it. What's left? Game streaming, which is, as of yet, not very prevalent. Looking at the PS Portal this tactic doesn't hold much potential.
So, how would you make this work? How do you prevent it from becoming a dud? The only time this might work is at the beginning of a new console generation, so that the device is immediately in the loop regarding new games (like with the Series S). And even then the selection of older titles would be limited, due to the probably weaker setup of a handheld, and missing backports.
Unfortunately, it was as expected. They plan to give away some exclusives and say they want to grow Xbox. What they did not tell us is how, which leads us right into a vicious circle.
I rarely buy games on release day (or pre-order for that matter) nowadays. For the vast majority I feel like 70+ money is too much to ask, especially considering the state (bugs, performance, balancing) of the games. I have no problem with waiting 6 months or so, having a much better patch state while also having sales that drop the price like hot potatoes. Also, in some cases key sellers are an option. If more people would wait these prices would disappear. I'm not convinced companies need to sell games at this price point. Technology gets better and automates tasks a lot more than decades ago. Digital distribution gets rid of or lessens costs coming from physical distribution. Disgustingly huge manager boni are unnecessary, period!
There wouldn't be sooo many sales if lower prices weren't viable. Same goes for regional price differences. I'm sure game companies don't go to these markets out of the goodness of their hearts to hand out gifts. The lower prices are still economically feasible. Not to mention the low prices of sub services like Ubisoft+.
I don’t really get the high praise for this game. I’m going into my 8th hour so far and to me it is a shallow experience, but that’s just me, I guess … Nevertheless, I would like to know the sales numbers on Xbox and Windows, since that is where the Game Pass is currently. Given the concern some have that their games won’t sell when Game Pass is involved, that would be very interesting.
@RetroMan71 I know, right? Which is why I wrote that there is a difference between what I wish for and what I expect. I‘ve written down a more comprehensive view on the matter here (https://www.purexbox.com/news/2024/02/xbox-no-longer-making-consoles-begins-trending-as-panic-continues#comment7994186), if you’re interested.
What's up with these PlayStation 1 era looking games? I can get behind pixel art, but I cannot get behind purposely going back in 3D fidelity THIS FAR.
Releasing games on the PC is irrelevant to those that want to game on a console. Two different concepts. Now, assuming Microsoft still wants to make hardware, doesn't mean it will sell well. Decisions have (sometimes unwanted) consequences.
Releasing fewer exclusives on Xbox means there are fewer reasons to buy Xbox hardware. Why would a customer still buy Xbox, if they can have almost everything on another platform PLUS other exclusives on top? That's a very simple economic decision. Fewer hardware sales will disappoint investors, upping the pressure from their side. Fewer hardware sales will lead to people thinking the platform is still dying a slow death, then jumping ship, which lead to even fewer hardware sales. Fewer hardware sales will lead to developers skipping Xbox, because the port is not worth it economically. Fewer 3rd party games will lead to fewer hardware sales, will lead to more developers jumping of the Xbox platform, will lead to fewer hardware sales ... and so on.
Microsoft is about to create a vicious circle, that will affect everyone on the platform, no matter the amount of commitment they bringt with them. There is only one way going multi-plat would still be compatible with having a healthy hardware basis.
1) Game Pass needs to stay on Xbox and PC, for a bargain price and every first party title day one to EOL. Maybe sweeten the deal with Ultimate versions and goodies.
2) If you want to further sweeten point 1, make the games at least timed exclusives - 6 to 12 months.
3) Develop away from Nintendo and Sony and cover your own niche. E.g., I could imagine a system where the games still run on potent hardware at home, but at the same time CAN be boosted by hardware in datacenters (hybrid system) to always give the best experience visual and FPS wise. That would be a stance where they say they sell "premium" devices as opposed to the others.
In other words MS needs to have a strategy that comes along with opening up. If that's not given, not a lack of conviction and commitment, but economics and psychology on the consumer's side will destroy the hardware. Meaning, next week they will have to give us at least a glimpse of how they want to support their hardware and keep it a viable product to buy. If they don't, assumptions will keep running rampant circles that already start to hurt the brand (even more so than now).
While I agree that some reactions, like immediately selling your Xbox, or taking every rumor for a hard fact, is way too much, I at the same time have to raise an eyebrow at those who take the rumors and hints without any concern. They don't seem to realize the implications of such a move.
If Xbox goes multi-plat (even if it is 'just' a large chunk of games) this would mean that there are fewer reasons to buy Xbox hardware. This means sales numbers will continue to disappoint MS, their investors, and maybe most importantly third party developers. It suddenly becomes a numbers game whether it's worthwhile porting a game to Xbox hardware. We already see some developers skipping Xbox from time to time. Fewer Xbox sold, means this will get worse. And if it gets worse, sales again will decline which in turn again will lead to more developers thinking hard about the platform. What this means is, that now even die hard fans start to think whether they invested in the wrong platform, which again leads to fewer units moved in the future. A vicious circle, really.
Bottom line, even if MS doesn't want to discontinue the hardware, such a move could very well lead to it dying nevertheless. Not Xbox as a whole, but the hardware. And look, I'm fine with opening up. I don't care that others can play my games on the plastic. I'm really not negatively affected by it, AS LONG AS ... MS has a strategy in place that allows me to access ALL of my ***** from anywhere. Exactly this strategy is currently not there. They have to at least bring this strategy along next week or the impact of their news will be very heavy, and it will affect all of us, even the optimists.
Look, if after all this opening-up, there is still a healthy future for the Xbox console, plus, if this means Game Pass is giving me (first day and last day) access to all the first party titles for a small price (plus, maybe some other goodies), I'm totally fine with spreading games to as many platforms as possible. I'm litterally not affected negatively by other people having fun using hard- or software of other companies.
If, however, this turns out to be the death warrant of the Xbox console, I indeed would mind, because this is the way I enjoy playing games most, and I do not want to go back to Sony for it (assuming that Nintendo continues to stay out of the performance segment). After PS3, PS4, PSP, and Vita, as well as some other questionable decisions, I simply don't trust this company anymore, and I do not want to give them my money, period.
@ZYDIO But they don’t have lower latency any longer, and even when we consider older technology, I sincerely doubt a rando player could notice a difference of about 4ms. Doesn’t Scuf make wireless Xbox controllers?
Yes, it's incompetence and excuses on the developer's side. It's not the fault of the hardware - as you can see with numerous Switch ports, or what is going on with PCs for decades - but the unwillingness to do what's necessary.
Why is it always black and white with these people? You can release your games on subscription services as well as physically at the same time and reap the benefits of both worlds. As for discoverability: How about getting your a**es up and do something about this? Magazines, social media, advertisement, word of mouth ... How do you think people got attention for their games before Steam, Game Pass and Co.?
Avowed looked bad. Combat has no weight to it. They didn't learn from better examples like Ghostwire or Vermintide. The textures are a joke and they used every god damn blur filter they could find on top of what seems to be a horrible TAA.
Hellblade 2, still pretty much on course, no complaints here.
Visions of Mana, nice surprise. Combat looks fun. Looking forward to it.
Ara: Another Civ ... great. Dunno. Could be ok.
Indiana Jones: Oh boy ... First person is a no-go for such a game. Think Uncharted, think Tomb Raider. An iconic person has to be shown in action, and I'm not meaning just while climbing up stuff or some such. I am not Indiana Jones and I will never be him. In fact, I don't want to be him. Putting me as a player in first person does not change these fact. We grew up watching Indi do stuff in movies, not by following the action through his eyes, for crying out loud! How weird would that have been? Same goes for this game. First person projection is a stupid antiquated notion, that never worked in the first place. Furthermore: Characters look weird, unconvincing, outdated - the uncanny valley kicks in hard here. Some of the textures are really muddy. I'm not convinced the gameplay will be good, nor have I seen any evidence that the riddles will be. This looks like a typical license title that will ultimately bomb hard on arrival.
Show was a C at best. Very safe, diverse, nothing actually special. As expected.
This game still looks bad. Animations are clunky and stiff, textures are flat and without much detail, lighting and shadows are way off, and the color palett is weird af. And don't even get me started on the arrows ... Comparing this to AoE2 DE I cannot help but wonder which 'genius' greenlit this. How is this considered to be progress?
Said it before and I will say it again. The Series S is holding nothing back. That‘s as if someone said the minimal specs for PC games are holding everything back. It was also stated by other developers that the Series S is not a problem. What’s happening is the following: Some devs/companies don’t want the extra work, effort, and money associated with optimizing for weaker hardware. They want to get rid of it, thus they claim what isn’t true. Simple business warfare.
Only the raw specs of the Sony SSD are better. Xbox’ system surrounding it’s storage solution is better from a technical standpoint, though. One of the devs already hinted at it; they just don’t take advantage of the Velocity architecture, yet. It’s extra effort for another console, sure, but they simply will have to learn it.
I wish people would understand that only because they don’t like a game doesn’t mean that said game is bad or bad value. By that logic I would have to say CoD is a bad game, worthless, and Sony should be ashamed to offer it. Why? Because I don’t like CoD! … Does that make any sense? No, it does not!
A game is for you or it isn’t for you. There is nothing more to it. Silver lining? Even if a GwG game isn’t for you, you don’t lose anything because it‘s a free addition! Yet there are those who expect MS to cater to their taste almost every time, or even worse, rather see GwG ended. That‘s quite frankly insane. Sorry.
The main point of Gold is to have the ability to play every game in multiplayer mode. I think, a company like MS could and should give us that for free. That alone would be worth canceling the free games, I think. Dishing out free games is always hit and miss. Some will like them, some won't, some will be in between. For example, I wouldn't be interested in the games mentioned on Sony's side, so I would consider the gifts "boring", but I wouldn't call for a cancellation of the program. Giving out free multiplayer, however, should have a much better hit ratio, I'd say.
@Snake_V5 Errr ... You pay people to make games. You earn success and respect by doing the things you do well. Two different subjects.
Let's get more specific. Scenario A) You have a company that hires people to create a program. You pay said people to do this job. Scenario B) You buy a company that has hired people to create a program. You pay said people to do this job. Where is the difference? In both cases your company is creating programs and you can choose the amount of involvement.
@Chaudy That was not the topic. They still make games. It just takes them more time. I'm a patient person and I'm not fixated on first party titles at all - so this doesn't really concern me. Your mileage may vary, though.
It's getting rediculous. At this point I just feel like one-upping that nonsense. Let's see ... Ah, yes, cancel the deal, buy Sony stocks instead ... !
Bullcrap. The S isn't holding back anything. Every game can be scaled down, as proven by cross gen games, Switch ports, and - for decades now - PC games. These people just don't WANT to deal with that, probably because it costs them a bit more time/money.
@VokDaWiibSlayer I don't do the right things to get a reward. That would be silly. I don't need recognition. Especially not from anyone in the internet. I think you don't know what a hypocrite actually is. I don't assume you are a polluter, waster or do nothing to save the environment. Never said that one time. I only answered to statements that supported doing nothing and further everyone's demise. It's not my fault you want to play the devil's advocate or whatever stunt you tried to pull there ...
Now - with this out of the way - as I have already shown you, your point wasn't relevant. I won't roll this up again. You can read it up. I really do not care whether you have a problem with my posture or not. I am fully aware of how I am being perceived by others. Again, I do not care, because I do not like humans - most of them, that is. I am a misanthrope. I do not want to belong to the dull masses and I am showing it - yes!
Make of this whatever you will. It doesn't change the fact that I am correct, as you yourself have stated in your last comment. Speaking out against someone who is right, just because your stomach doesn't agree with the fashion they transport the message is petty and just another thing I don't like about humans. I do not like you. You do not like me. Let's just leave it at that. I'm very fine with this arrangement.
@VokDaWiibSlayer I hope you don't argue this way in real life, because it makes you look a little foolish. Here is why. Turning off a console is easily done. Quit using something you need to get from A to B or you need for work/family/friends/etc. not so much. Needed vs not needed. Do you see the difference?
I can already hear your next invalid point: "You don't need a car or a phone!" Which is why I don't have a car. But I'm ok with people having a car who need it. I am using a cellphone over any computer, because I can do almost everything with it at a lower energy consumption - even work related stuff. And yes, I am turning it off whenever I am certain I don't need it.
While not perfect by a long shot, I am actually trying to be a better person than others. Which is a good thing in general. I sincerely recommend trying it. So, no, my "ego" will stay firmly plugged in. Sorry, not sorry ...
@Richnj
Yes, I am very sure, because renewables actually were a lot more expensive. Even for the consumers. I was one of them. I payed more, to show that there is a growing market for it, and that companies should expand on it.
The discussion wasn't about whether you can lift the extra cost. If you can't, you can't - simple as that. But do you know what everyone can do? Completely turn off a console!
That is shortsighted. Companies consist of individuals. Individuals carry their values into companies. Individuals create demand for companies. That's why we have something like unions. That's why we have outcries that go through the media and create pressure for companies and investors.
I don't know about your country, but I know for a fact, that companies in my country started to change because more and more their customers wanted to see said change. For example, here, for years now, energy companies switch to renewable energy sources, not because they have to, but because there is growing demand for it. The lawyer company my friend is working for is creating a low/green energy consumption and recycle program just to advertise this on their website. Why? Because they finally understood there is demand for this. When you have two comparable options the one with the extra perks has the better chances. And you know what? My friend was the one who suggested it in the first place, because she really cares about this stuff. It made sense to the bosses.
That's all because individuals changed their view on something. They didn't wait for politics or laws, they just decided that this one thing is important to them and that they want to see it spread in some way, shape, or form. Pointing to others while participating in the same BS doesn't make things better in the slightest. That's the easy, the lazy thing to do. It's fatal too. "Well, if they don't do it, I don't have to do it either. Because it doesn't make a difference!" Right? Wrong! Because if everyone thinks this way, no one will ever start, and nothing will ever change.
We're in this mess, because those that came before us used the exact same invalid arguments. You, as an individual, have a responsibility. You have responsibility for yourself, and for those around you (e.g. persons you like, your family, the future of your family etc.). You actually expect this responsibility from others too. You don't WANT them to waste or pollute and make everything more difficult for you, right? That they do it anyways is a totally different topic, though. Sure, there are enough a**holes out there and you might ask yourself, "Why should I be the one to cut back, while they waste away everything?"
Well, to this I say: It's not about them. It's about you! Do YOU want to be an a**hole like them? Or do you want to be something different? Do you want to say: "In this regard, I am not to be blamed. I'm doing my part."? Or do you want to be part of a dull mass that just shoves responsibility around in a circle? Because, you know, here is the thing ... The person right next to you points at YOU and says: "... Well, if he/she doesn't do it, why should I? Makes no difference, right?"
@Richnj I don’t get this thinking. Because companies waste and pollute, it is ok for us as individuals to waste and pollute? How does one wrong make another wrong right? How does adding even more sh*t on top of a sh*t pile make anything better?
@Carck
It actually does. Alongside other reasonable things I do or do not. Why? Because I decided to not be a part of the problem.
Politics is a reflection of the society. Politics tries to deliver what people want. If you show them you are okay with wasting stuff, they will deliver exactly that, a wasteful system. You want to see change? Then first you have to live the change.
@Carck I disagree. It’s exactly this kind of thinking that prevents change from happening. You have to decide for yourself what kind of person you want to be. Do you want to be a person that shrugs over things and points fingers, like the person next to you, and the person next to them, and the person next to them, … so that there will be a nice viscous circle, where everyone thinks the others are responsible? Or do you want to be a person that does the right thing? Don’t you think that someone has to start somewhere? And don’t you think that if enough people do the reasonable thing, there could be at least slow change? After all, there is such a thing as leading by example, that is being picked up by others, like e.g. your children.
Besides, what do you propose a government should do about this? In the end, they could only forbid things, which in turn would spark resistance, just for resistance’s sake. And then again, why should one wait for the government instead of simply doing what is reasonable? It’s not that one would lose anything meaningful if they turned of electrical devices.
@Carck Why does a regular computer have to idle? Why does the Xbox have to idle? Why does anything have to idle? Multiply the 13 Watts by 16 million. It sums up.
Sure you can lift that financially, but to be honest, that's not even the important thing - even though, some outlets put their focus on it, for whatever reasons. It's about the domino effect that comes with needlessly wasting energy, not only for the world in general, but your own country/state/city/district, and in the end your household. I'm not only talking about the environmental impact, but also energy prices at large.
@Kaloudz Thought you wanted to bow out of this conversation. But I see you deleted that statement afterwards …
You don’t have to pretend anything. Fact of the matter is still, that you would have to wait for the games in the pipeline even if they were not owned by MS. You still fail to make a coherent point. On the one hand, you criticize MS for not popping out games left and right, on the other hand you claim to agree with me that these things take time. Instead of needlessly insisting on your right to voice your opinion, like every conspiracy theorist would, you could try and answer my question.
So, let me ask you again. What exactly is it you want from MS? Overruling and influencing creativity or hands off like so many want? With the former you would find new points to criticize, because you say fast is the enemy of quality - with the latter you would have to wait and bridge the gaps like an adult person. What will it be?
@Kaloudz I think, people who proactively reason with the term 'opinion' are weird. I really don't care about whether you hold up opinions or not. Matter of fact is, that I think you're wrong - freedom of opinion or not - and that I wouldn't keep quiet even if you said I wasn't entitled to my opinion. So, again, hollow words.
Developing games takes time. 'Fast' is the enemy of quality, as proven time and again. There is no amount of managment that could change this fact. Currently MS is doing the right thing. The Game Pass offers enough games to bridge the gap. If you're not satisfied, over there is Nintendo and Sony, or use a PC to do whatever. You won't be any happier, because some people simply will always find things to complain about, no matter what companies do. It's like a hobby.
@Kaloudz
I didn't mention anything about my happiness regarding this topic. I just wrote, that I don't understand what this statement is supposed to mean. It's only now that you are starting to make a little bit sense. The problem however is, that the word "talent" is used in an ambivalent way by you. First you fire at talent as in 'creativity', next you swing around and aim at management when you are asked to elaborate. Two completely different things ...
Yes, they have yet to deliver. One can agree on this. Buying talent however isn't really criticism-deserving. You surely see the difference there.
Apart from this, what do you want MS to do, really? Do you want them to pressure their studios into delivering early? We all know how that usually goes, right? There are more than enough people, nowadays, demanding that A) developers take more time, to deliver a good product and B) that Microsoft (given their track record in the past, as "the bad guys") keep their gnarly fingers out of everything. Now, however, people like you come around the corner and criticise MS and their studios for doing exactly what was wished for ... It's frustrating to say the least.
It takes time, but you can already see what is in the pipeline. Thing is, you would have to wait for it in any other scenario as well. So, what gives?
@Kaloudz "Buying talent doesn't make you talented."
Way too many people using this nonsense sentence. What is that even supposed to mean? Does it mean Phil needs to get talented (whatever that means) in order for Xbox to get more/better games? Or does it mean Xbox has to invest into their already owned studios, to create talent?
The first version makes no sense whatsoever, the second means they would buy talent ... There is no difference between spending money to build up people or spending money to get already built-up people. Of course companies buy talent. Every single company does that, when given the chance. That's how they innovate.
@Banjo- Well, you have to see that in context. It is a quirky shooter as all Duke games are. Nothing special, but certainly nothing horrendous either. If you like the (sex)appeal and humour of the series it's definitely for you. People mainly complain, because they expected much, much more after the long ass development time. That's all.
Had the same thing happen several times in Chorus. I tried different performance settings to no avail. There was nothing in Quick Resume either. Only thing that helped was a proper restart of the console. It's definitely a game issue.

Re: Capcom's Old Game Engine Seemingly To Blame For Certain Releases Skipping Xbox
Re: Capcom's Old Game Engine Seemingly To Blame For Certain Releases Skipping Xbox
Re: Soapbox: The Best Modern Tomb Raider Is Well Worth Your Time On Xbox Game Pass
Definitely the best one. Back then, when I played the first game, I had high hopes ... Alas, it was constant downhill from there ...
Re: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Producer Defends Lack Of Xbox Series X|S Release
This is some next level corporate BS. FF7R does nothing what other multi plat games haven't done before. Stop shaking your ass in front of Sony's face!
Re: Xbox Insists It's Not Ditching Physical Games: 'That's Not A Strategic Thing For Us'
@GeminiReign Laughing about this is a bit childish, tbh.
Re: Xbox Insists It's Not Ditching Physical Games: 'That's Not A Strategic Thing For Us'
@GeminiReign If they wanted they could simply say you are not allowed to play this game any longer.
Re: Xbox Insists It's Not Ditching Physical Games: 'That's Not A Strategic Thing For Us'
This plastic crap can't die fast enough.
Re: Microsoft Has New Xbox Hardware To Announce For Holiday 2024
Re: Talking Point: What's Your Immediate Reaction To Today's Xbox Announcements?
Unfortunately, it was as expected. They plan to give away some exclusives and say they want to grow Xbox. What they did not tell us is how, which leads us right into a vicious circle.
Re: Ubisoft Defends Skull And Bones Pricing, Insists It's A 'Complete' Package
Re: Persona 3 Reload Is Officially The Fastest-Selling Game In Atlus History
I don’t really get the high praise for this game. I’m going into my 8th hour so far and to me it is a shallow experience, but that’s just me, I guess … Nevertheless, I would like to know the sales numbers on Xbox and Windows, since that is where the Game Pass is currently. Given the concern some have that their games won’t sell when Game Pass is involved, that would be very interesting.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Expect To See From Microsoft's Update On The Future Of Xbox?
@RetroMan71 I know, right? Which is why I wrote that there is a difference between what I wish for and what I expect. Re: 'Xbox No Longer Making Consoles' Begins Trending As Panic Continues
Re: Xbox Fans Urged To Remain Calm As Emotions Run Wild On Social Media
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Gives His 'Optimistic' Thoughts On Xbox-To-PS5 Rumours

Re: Indie Dev Says Optimising For Xbox Series S 'Benefits Consumers Immensely'
Yes, it's incompetence and excuses on the developer's side. It's not the fault of the hardware - as you can see with numerous Switch ports, or what is going on with PCs for decades - but the unwillingness to do what's necessary.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 Dev Reveals Concerns With Xbox Game Pass-Style Subscriptions
Re: Poll: How Would You Grade The Xbox Developer Direct 2024?

Re: Remedy Dev Reckons There's 'Nothing Surprising' About Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Series S Debacle
Re: Quantum Error Dev: Xbox Version Needs More Time Due To 'Slower SSD'
Only the raw specs of the Sony SSD are better. Xbox’ system surrounding it’s storage solution is better from a technical standpoint, though. One of the devs already hinted at it; they just don’t take advantage of the Velocity architecture, yet. It’s extra effort for another console, sure, but they simply will have to learn it.

Re: Xbox Games With Gold For July 2023 Announced
Sorry.
Re: Talking Point: Is It Time For Xbox To Sunset The 'Games With Gold' Program?
The main point of Gold is to have the ability to play every game in multiplayer mode. I think, a company like MS could and should give us that for free. That alone would be worth canceling the free games, I think. Dishing out free games is always hit and miss. Some will like them, some won't, some will be in between. For example, I wouldn't be interested in the games mentioned on Sony's side, so I would consider the gifts "boring", but I wouldn't call for a cancellation of the program. Giving out free multiplayer, however, should have a much better hit ratio, I'd say.
Re: Microsoft Refers To Lack Of Xbox Exclusives As Why ActiBlizz Deal Should Be Approved
Re: Microsoft Refers To Lack Of Xbox Exclusives As Why ActiBlizz Deal Should Be Approved

Re: Many Studios Are Struggling With Xbox Series S Requirements, Claims Developer
Bullcrap. The S isn't holding back anything. Every game can be scaled down, as proven by cross gen games, Switch ports, and - for decades now - PC games. These people just don't WANT to deal with that, probably because it costs them a bit more time/money.
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S

I don't do the right things to get a reward.
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@VokDaWiibSlayer
I hope you don't argue this way in real life, because it makes you look a little foolish.
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Richnj
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Richnj @Aggirivator
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Richnj
I don’t get this thinking. Because companies waste and pollute, it is ok for us as individuals to waste and pollute? How does one wrong make another wrong right? How does adding even more sh*t on top of a sh*t pile make anything better?
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Carck
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Carck
I disagree.
Re: PSA: Now's Probably A Good Time To Use 'Energy Saver' Mode On Xbox Series X|S
@Carck
Why does a regular computer have to idle? Why does the Xbox have to idle? Why does anything have to idle? Multiply the 13 Watts by 16 million. It sums up.
Sure you can lift that financially, but to be honest, that's not even the important thing - even though, some outlets put their focus on it, for whatever reasons. It's about the domino effect that comes with needlessly wasting energy, not only for the world in general, but your own country/state/city/district, and in the end your household. I'm not only talking about the environmental impact, but also energy prices at large.
Re: Halo Infinite Local Campaign Co-Op Has Been Cancelled
Correct decision. Split screen co-op is an unimportant niche. The game needs to be supported in other areas.
Re: Xbox Boss Explains Two Things That 'Drove Our Interest' About Activision Blizzard
@Kaloudz
Thought you wanted to bow out of this conversation.
Re: Xbox Boss Explains Two Things That 'Drove Our Interest' About Activision Blizzard
@Kaloudz
I think, people who proactively reason with the term 'opinion' are weird.
Re: Xbox Boss Explains Two Things That 'Drove Our Interest' About Activision Blizzard
@Kaloudz
Re: Xbox Boss Explains Two Things That 'Drove Our Interest' About Activision Blizzard
@Kaloudz
"Buying talent doesn't make you talented."
Re: Multiple Games Reduced By 90-95% On Xbox This Week (June 28 - July 5)
@Banjo-
Well, you have to see that in context. It is a quirky shooter as all Duke games are. Nothing special, but certainly nothing horrendous either. If you like the (sex)appeal and humour of the series it's definitely for you. People mainly complain, because they expected much, much more after the long ass development time. That's all.
Re: Furi 'Didn't Align With The Game Pass Strategy' Says Developer
I'm confused. They say the sales were bad because the game wasn't on Game Pass? But Game Pass wasn't a thing when this game launched?
Re: Random: Xbox Series X Owner Panics As Console 'Runs Out Of Memory'
Had the same thing happen several times in Chorus. I tried different performance settings to no avail. There was nothing in Quick Resume either. Only thing that helped was a proper restart of the console. It's definitely a game issue.
