Now that’s a load of self-serving bulls**t. This guy got a pay bump of almost 70% and xbox has never been worse (probably just as much as in the Don Matrick era…) while 2.5k+ people under microsoft lost their jobs and most of this self promotion isn’t even their doing. This industry is so under corporate bros/chads that it really sickens me of how far this has gone and where we find ourselves in now…

I’d say it’s the current king, but i have two scratches I can’t itch and forza just won’t cut it: pgr and daytona games… those are among some of the best, even though I have fond memories of other titles like destruction derby, wipeout and ridge racer, at the moment forza is the best. Just not a replacement for all the great memories I have with all those racing games.

@tallythwack yeah, I am aware that must be how it will go in the end. I'm kinda hoping one day, they'll cut the crap on these third parties exclusivities and release the damn thing all in one cool package for Xbox. I do own a PS5 as well and have both games, so that is not an issue for me personally. I just don't much care for how Sony snorts up all of these 3rd p deals and holds on to them indefinitely. I might be wrong, but I feel like they do it way more than any other player in the industry.

The devs certainly didn’t deserve to get flack like that. I am honest to say I have not seen that kind of negativity written anywhere, must be on private conversations or whatever… but the fact is that they’ll get flack from this for a while, the game tanked monumentally, so some flack is to be expected. That said, it is hard for me to understand that this is “the only thing that bothers her”. I hope that’s not literally true, because there’s a whole bunch of reasons for them to lose sleep over… however, I hope things will look up for them devs and us players with patches that will make this game decent.

Xbox, don’t even try to make me forget what just happened with redfall with more empty promises. Make good on it, or this is the point where I am tired of waiting for good.

I’m sorry, but he shouldn’t go around saying he’s proud when this is clearly not finished. I can not imagine what the people that spent 70 bucks on this feel like. I’d feel robbed blind. Saying stuff that feels like mocking every xbox fan out there. This game single-handedly shattered our hopes of a proper AAA any time in the future (for me even starfield, i have no confidence in it being a blockbuster right now). That on the shelf is a box with the potential for a reasonable game in a few months. But obviously no one will care by then. Either launch it ready or don’t do it. No amount of post launch updates will bring back the lost excitement or trust. This is disheartening, to say the least…

Classic case of a developer being pushed out of it’s comfort zone and it seems like it was unwillingly… Rushed dev cycle and push out the door with no regard for quality after a long dev cycle and a massive delay so something went terribly wrong. MS needs to get their sh*t together as I am losing faith in the brand really fast. I’m not a big Sony fan, so if this is it for MS and they can’t get past mediocrity, I guess my interest in consoles and games will shift to indies and retro entirely (and nintendo, sometimes…). This is such a letdown and it definitely adds insult to injury for a fanbase that is already burnt and thirsting for a win for so long.

This was one of those games that left me breathless back in the day. The definitive edition was a very much welcome remaster that made it all so much better. It’s a nice game, although gears 2 and 3 keep being the high notes of this series for me tbh. I can’t wait to have those 2 remastered into a neat little bundle. This one is short and sweet, also serves as a baseline, because it did set the expectations of what would come with the sequels and never disappointed. Judgement and 4 are the runts of the litter and 5 is a nice change of direction while keeping that gears pedigree pretty much alive and going strong.

I played xrd revelator on the ps4 and loved it. Couldn’t think of how they could outdo themselves until i saw strive. Dear lord, what a step up!

Getting Control over and done with (ultimate edition, my 3rd playthrough). Went to some oldies as well with mirror’s edge catalyst and the evil within 2 (which is shocklingly good in terms of mechanics and gameplay, the fps boost helps a lot too since this game at 60fps is damn sweeeeeet!). I did this summer and hooked it up to a huge 4k tv on an apartment we got for our holiday. It worked like a charm. Actually finished a playthrough of guardians of the galaxy on my series s and it was great. Sure it stuttered from time to time and the resolution was half of what I’m used to but it still plays and works fine. I could have taken the series x but who wants to carry that big lug around? Definitely wins in the portability factor!

Oh boy… now is the time to wow us, not ground us… we’ve been waiting for this year for far too long, don’t ruin it by being underwhelming yet again!

Dishonored 2 is definitely the thorn in my side from this list. Rdr2 also, but d2 is far worst, very painful to adjust to at 60fps especially because the other games in the series got that treatment.

I have to be honest. Tried it yesterday and it wasn’t for me. Too repetitive and dull. The story and protagonist also don’t help more than they hurt the game. I uninstalled it one hour later and noped the heck outta there! One of the most disappointing additions to game pass this year, tbh.

Vampire survivors is like a drug! Enough said! A bit of moonscars and return to monkey island for good measure in between. Finishing ac Valhalla at a very slow pace but enjoying it thoroughly. Have a nice weekend guys/gals! Happy gaming!

I’ll have to go with: black ops 1, modern warfare 2019 tied with bo cold war and then infinite warfare. I hated the story aspect of the latter, the villain and premisse were garbage, but being the space nerd i am, fighting on those moons really did it for me!

Finally 😊 agreed on the fh5 music, it’s plain awful. I used to like the songs on horizon xs a lot, but with every game it has been declining to a point that I can’t stand it and turned it off to play my own playlists. Xs used to be about rock but most of the stuff there now has 0 to do with rock music.

Still divided up among elden ring, ac valhalla, deathloop and cyberpunk. A level of prodeus in between now and then. Such a fun classic vibe fps 😊 i honesty don’t know how I’m able to skip between all of these, but somehow I’m pulling it off 😂

Yeah, i only buy those when they’re about to drop off gp. The discount is a nice incentive! Caught a few pearls with that 😊 always xbox. Very rarely switch (when there is no performance difference)

If there is something I can’t stand, is a fully grown man in an age that could easily make him my dad, being a little crybaby over something that will never happen. Xbox will not let the revenue of playstation cod sales go. It sells like hot cakes. They will put in 70B, the least they want is to make it back and profit from it. He’s simply trying to avoid having to pay his competitors a hefty amount to keep cod on playstation 3 years from now. That’s how this works. When a contract is about to expire, you renegotiate. I’m pretty sure this was how it went before, he’s just being a sourpuss over this issue. Flying to Brussels just to cry a river to them regulators…

I can easily see playground games pulling off a stunning pgr5 or a blur 2 if those should ever come to fruition. You’re right on the money on every word, this is a fantastic game and it left a big void on the xbox ecosystem. Even though fh5 is great it’s a very different kind of beast when compared. I can see myself enjoying a simple closed circuit arcade racer like pgr now. Grid has done it well, but not well enough to fill the void. There’s definitely room for a new pgr.

I’m still on the fence with this one. Coming to xbgp i will definitely pick it up, but I’m counting on playing for about 6 hours before i decide if this is for me. Looks totally like a tool video or an exhibition by hr giger, but i actually have no clue of what to expect from it. Seemed a bit slow and empty from early looks into it, but I’ll have to confirm or deny it on oct 14th

I know that business is business and they only look out for number one. However, I don’t give a rat’s a** about them either. I like to play stuff in my service of choice, which is gp. If i have a chance to play something and it gets blocked by some other party and they won’t even want it for themselves, but to ruin it for everyone, then that’s just cheap, dirty and childish. Seems like this is the logic at play here: I can’t afford having it, but i can afford to break it so no one else will play with it either. I don’t know if this is true, but it does seem to fit the Jim Ryan MO perfectly and wouldn’t surprise me. Newsflash to the competition: wanna beat gp? Work for it! This is not working for it, it’s a step back!

I think it is a good number, but i can not help but wonder had that joker (don m) not have been at the helm, how it would have gone down. A little less one-sided, that’s for sure. I put much of the blame on his horrible vision and disastrous execution. Still had loads of fun with my one and one x, but ended up buying a ps4 pro anyways… when Phil came in and started to undo his mess, that’s when xbox had me back again all-in. When Don came out of the shadows again to blurt out “i wish i could have stayed and gone ahead with my plan”, i went “you’re joking, right brah?” But then i realised that he is absolutely clueless to the fact that he almost single-handedly burried the xbox brand as a whole. Surreal…

I had more of a soft spot for the european aesthetics that fh4 had vs 5… 5 is more varied though. I loved 3’s map. So well thought out and executed. Between 4 and 5 i give them one thing, it was a radical change that was sure to shake up things. I had a tad more fun on 4, but 5 is still a blast and not boring at all 😊

I am getting anxious/annoyed each time i read stuff like this and don’t actually see more gameplay or even a tentative launch date in the horizon. Honestly, just cut the crap and wasting time on stuff nobody will notice/want/miss and give us something juicy for a change 🙄

Got both of them. A sx for the living room and got the wife to agree on a ss for the bedroom to have a streaming machine mainly. But tbh, i played for a while with it in a full hd tv and really don’t feel much of a difference for a sx. Playing fh5 on the ss and the sx is obviously different, but i am thoroughly impressed each time i play it on the ss. I always expect much less from it but get consistently blown away by the quality, smoothness and steady performance from such a limited machine spec wise. The limited storage is annoying, but since i got an external ssd as a companion and it is really fast to store and transfer games back and forth between that and the internal storage. The chunk the os takes up from the external storage is very enraging, especially on the ss, it takes up almost half of the advertised capacity and that sucks. Manufacturers really need to stop doing that 😞 tldr, have both, love em both and I’m blown away by what the ss can pull off

Not a popular choice, but I’ll go with blast corps. Such a fun game, even today. I’d love to see rare doing something like that again with today’s tech. It’d blow our minds for sure.

I know I’m gonna be a echo here, but Elden Ring is king for me this weekend. Gave tunic a go and now I can’t decide where to invest my time in 😅 Also had a bunch of fun with Doom Eternal’s horde mode. GT7 made me crave a bit of racing sim action, so got my Forza 7 out of the box and teared through some tracks. Amazing how a 2017 game puts a 2022 game to shame. GT7 looks and plays fab, but Sony is ruining it in a pretty shady way (post-review and high praise). Forza works so much better in the progression department. It is a true joy!

SSX3 for me! Played it a bunch on the Gamecube back in the day. That and coolboarders on ps1 have got to be my absolute faves on this genre!

Come on, just give us some content! We’re bored out of our minds with the same stuff since December… we’re going into April now, for crying out loud. A map, a weapon, a classic mode missing at launch, anything worth it! As much as i applaud and welcome these changes, this is not what we need right now or on the top of anyone’s list 😒
