@VeganH at 30 watts it won't be like either. I have a ally xz1 and whilst it's a excellent handheld pc that is exactly what it is.. A handheld pc. The gpu is maybe as peformant as a series s but the power is shared between the cpu and the gpu. That being the case.. No it won't run games like series s but you do have access to any pc game delivery platform. Steam has some incredible deals every week and it's great for playing lots of games at low settings.

Completely pointless comparison to be honest. Nobody buys a switch for the specs but rather for Nintendo games. More excited for switch 2 than for anything else that has happened this gen really. Nintendo just know how to make excellent games

I bought a s but my wife was working abroad and got me a x for xmas. Still got the s and will probably keep it as it's good for indie gamepass games and as a media player in the living room. Plus it just looks cool

It looks good but I have a portable monitor that's powered by a usb cable from the s and it does the same job at half the price

I'm sure it will be 60fps with a upscaling solution and low detail ray tracing but I'd be fine with that. But as a pc owner as well I can honestly say that while rt reflection, shadows and ambient occlusion are nice the reality is when you are playing a fast game you barely have time to appreciate it.

I think ray tracing impact is more noticeable on slow paced games where you soak up the atmosphere

Already bought demon souls and returnal and ghost of tshishma. All the others are pretty meh. Not massively interested in ubisoft cookie cutter titles. I probably wouldnt bother tbh... no 1st party means it's a miss for me

Godfall isnt a bad game. I quite enjoyed it as it's pretty much a hack and slash with loot mechanics and some other features. Fair enough it didnt set the world alight but at 30 it's not bad

I wish they would add the old maps to the rotation just for some variety

I actually thought it might be too little too late but the servers have been busier than they have been over the last few weeks. I hope it's the start of them getting their act together. There is a decent game in here somewhere

But I'll tell what I really wont get.. another ubisoft game.

I'd be happy with 1080p ray tracing at 60fps if that is ever going to be possible. But then I have a 1080p monitor with high refresh. I though FSR was going to make these things possible. Maybe it's still early days

@themightyant also it isnt like microsoft by owning a fps franchise is stopping anyone from developing fps. Yes it's a brand but coca cola is just a fizzy drink and McDonald's is still just a burger.

I find the whole idea that people are saying this is a monopoly and shouldn't be allowed quite laughable. It's not like a electric or gas company buying all of the other companies and putting the cost of their bills up. It's a toy company buying a toy company. Playing call of duty or tony hawk on a playstation isnt by any means essential. If you dont want to buy a xbox to play them then dont. If you dont want to pay for gamepass then dont. This is exactly the reason why this will not be blocked. It actually doesnt have any meaningful impact on peoples day to day lives.

Playstation will get activision games for sure. But after the next call of duty I can guarantee it will be xbox exclusive as it's far too big a coup for it not to be. I doubt microsoft will lament losing the playstation sales for cod. They will be happy to lose the sales in order get more gamepass subscribers.

If they manage to sign up 1/2 of active monthly blizzard logins to gamepass thats worth 3.3 billion a year.

Still love ps5 though

Does it have ray tracing. There have been games on the store that say they have ray tracing but dont... Avengers being one of them.

I've owned all of them. But the biggest 1st impression was the 360. It was absolutely mind blowing. I got perfect dark zero and pray with it and it was absolutely incredible.

In terms of which one I think the best is.... series x. Back compatible, powerful and consumer friendly ( using one controllers etc... ). Plus gamepass this generation means I really think microsoft have smashed it this generation

I own both s and x. They are both excellent machines. Quite a few friends of mine have a ps5 and series s. It seems that the s is a excellent 2nd console especially if you only use a 1080p monitor or tv. I use the s with a fold up monitor if I'm travelling around and it's just superb. Obviously you do notice the difference in resolution but what a excellent little machine

@Xeno_Aura people have to bring their monitors which is hassle. At least this way it fits in a ruck sack. Plus it's a good idea if you travel a lot as it folds up like a laptop. I have a portable 14 inch monitor and its excellent so I wont be getting one. I just think its very cool and convenient

We still have lan partys with the series s. Just use wifi over xbox live. Providing you have a fast enough connection 4 or 5 consoles on wifi isnt really a problem.

And still the cyberpunk next gen version wont be available

@MightyDemon82 spent lots of hours on animal crossing. Usually 30 to 40 in bed before I go to sleep. Xenoblade 2s combat system once you are about 10 hours in becomes absolutely incredible. I suppose the closest game on xbox is tales of arise but it is still basic in comparison

@MightyDemon82 Breath of the wild, xenoblade chronicles 1 and 2 are three of the best games I have ever played.

Being lucky enough to own ps5, series x and switch I have to say that Nintendo are still the kings on this front with sony 2nd by a large margin. That said all 3 systems have an excellent choice of top quality games

This is the perfect game for me. I enjoyed playing with randoms but every now and then you get a player who thinks it's a single player campaign, runs off, gets killed and then quits. Once the game weeds out those players it will be fantastic. Playing tonight with some friends who are old l4d players. That's how you know how good it really is.

I thought originally that the series x was a boring looking console but with all these custom ones and wraps it's almost like it was made for it

@Leprecorn No it isnt upscaled. Both ori and the will of the whisps and tourist support native 4k on s. Games like cod are upscaled. Pretty sure the s could handle a 4k dashboard

@SpecialT Exactly. At 1080p the series s is fantastic value for money.

I have a series s and x. I travel a lot with work etc and the s is absolutely perfect. I have a 14inch fold up 1080p monitor and I am amazed by how good this tiny little console is.

@Xiovanni With most fps games going crossplay I have to disagree. I've come from being a mainly pc gamer to being a console gamer and enjoy having a choice of input devices. I think fps and 4x strategy games are far better on mouse and keys but in the same token I cant imagine playing Mario galaxy or dead cells on m+k, it just wouldn't work. As for pc gamers being toxic I think I've had the same kind of experiences on both pc and console with regards to that. I'm not sure it's the platform but rather the game

Also 120fps has been excellent but I do wonder if we will see it used less as games become more complex.

I would prefer upscaled resolutions with more effects such as ray tracing, higher level ssr etc... than native resolutions. If amd fsr can achieve these things the it's a win for me. We arent likely to see the benefits of this new generation for a couple of years yet. At least until devs used to the tools at their disposal. That said I've been impressed with both series x and ps5 so far

This game is great fun.

That's great and all but it has totally tanked performance on series x. Tried at 120 and 60. Lots of stuttering in menus etc.
