The rumours were true! Halo Infinite's multiplayer is officially available TODAY, releasing in beta format and kicking off its first season of content. You can download it right now from the Microsoft Store and start playing!
343 Industries says the decision to release Halo Infinite early in "beta" is a way to "ensure all our systems are good-to-go" for the full launch on December 8th, but nevertheless today does mark the beginning of Halo Infinite's first season. Season 1 will continue longer than originally anticipated (until May 2022) "to ensure Season 2 meets our high quality bar and so we can finish development for Season 2 in a healthy and sustainable way for our team."
From today, you're going to get all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass. "This means all the Battle Pass and customization items you earn or purchase will stay with you after December 8th."
Halo Infinite’s first season, “Heroes of Reach”, begins today and runs through May 2, 2022. Infinite’s Battle Pass offers free and premium tracks accounting for more than 100 unlockable items. If you purchase a Halo Infinite Premium Battle Pass, it will not expire – so if you jump in later in the season or can’t complete it by May, no worries - you’ll be able to progress on your own terms. Start playing today and begin building your own personal Spartan by unlocking additional armor pieces, weapon charms, visors, coatings, emblems, Armor FX, and more!
You can play Halo Infinite on a wide array of devices, including Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC and Xbox Cloud Gaming. If you face any issues with a blue screen when starting it up, restart your console and try again:
"If you're running into a blue screen still on Xbox/Win when trying to install, please try restarting your console/relaunching Xbox Game Pass for PC and try again. We're getting reports this issue should be mostly resolved."

There's a post on @majornelson on twitter, they are working to get the update out soon.
Also the download from the store isn't complete as it's only 280mb, I suspect once it's live it'll by a multi gig download.

It's the beta. So anyone saying it's weird that it "ain't working" should realise it's a BETA

If you're getting a blue screen when opening the pre-order, go to the game and select update. It will download the full thing.

Its a go now, 17.47GB on Xbox One

if you play on PC, uninstall the preload and redownload it again. go into options and you can even get the HD texture pack with it
I restarted console then clicked onit and it then prompted me for the update

@SplooshDmg OK, so it’s just the game. I think Early Access or something would have made more sense. Beta makes it sound unfinished or incomplete to me.
It's very impressive so far but there's only a Quality graphics option for me.
Is performance supposed to be an option too or is that just in single player?

Man it’s great. Gunplay feels tight. Exploration is fun. The maps are well balanced. What a gift.
I expect some early server issues but this is going to be so much fun!
Couldn't start the download yesterday evening, but could download it just before I got to work this morning , no time to play though, until tonight, but what a treat, all maps and progression is ported to final release so that's pretty epic....
Only 25gb? That’s quite small by today’s standards. Wonder how big the main campaign is gonna be?
@SplooshDmg Yeah I was playing with my best bud last night. Nothing is better then getting in a warthog and taking flags. Just pure fun. So many laughs, close calls, and rag doll deaths.
