It wasn’t ever a real ‘exclusive’ we just got it first. Likewise, nobody expected Tunic to never launch on anything else even though we got that first too.
I’ve got around 150 hours apiece on both the PS5 and Series X versions and despite two complete play throughs I know for sure that there are still quite a few things I haven’t done.
The last weekend of a very pleasant fortnight off work and after 100-odd hours I’m on the final battle in Baldur’s Gate 3. Once I’ve finished I’ll play either Chants of Sennaar or Little Goody Two Shoes, both of which I bought in the countdown sale.
I’ve bought quite a few indies and oldies. Of new games, I bought Hogwarts Legacy, Company of Heroes 3 (still unplayed, awaiting a ‘play a WW2 game mood’) and Baldur’s Gate 3. All digital.
I have played the game for plenty of hours on both PS5 and Series X so I feel confident in saying that there is no noticeable difference in performance between the two.
Are people doing the ‘belt and braces’ approach that I suggested the other day? Save before you finish playing, fully quit the game, don’t quick resume - just start the game and reload your save. It worked for me with the corrupted save issue on PS5 and I’ve used the same method on Xbox with no problems at all.
It happens, it’s a big complex game. After I started playing it on PS5 I got into the habit of leaving the console on standby because there were so many patches and hotfixes coming in! Hopefully everything will stabilise now, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find more updates down the line.
I had a similar issue with corrupted saves on PS5 and ended up having to go back several hours. After that, I made sure to a) save the game before I finished playing, b) quit the game fully after playing, and c) load the save when I restarted rather than pressing ‘continue’. I’ve done exactly the same on Xbox and have had no problems, so maybe worth a try - possibly (I’m no expert) it may be something to do with it not being happy with quick resume after the player signs out from the game.

Re: New Baldur's Gate 3 Update Now Live On Xbox, Here Are The Patch Notes
“Fixed companions not being able to jump when following the player character.”
Oh I do hope this works! It can be so annoying to realise that one of your crew hasn’t followed you, especially if you end up in a fight.
Re: Poll: Four Months Later, Are You Still Playing Starfield?
I have all the consoles and I picked BG3 to play before it and I’m still playing. I’ll start on Starfield at some point - they keep adding to it!

Don’t we get to vote for Jusant? Not my number 1, but up there! Four points from me.

Re: It's That Time Again! Your Xbox 'Year In Review' 2023 Is Now Available
Totally surprised by my top 3 - Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (which I rediscovered this year) - 408 hours, XCOM 2 - 115 hours and Sudden Strike 4 - 96 hours.
If you’d asked me which games I’d played the most this year I wouldn’t have thought of any of them.
