Golden Idol looks good - I like games like Paradise Killer and Return of the Obra Dinn and this looks like it will be similar.

Plenty to look forward to, but the new Life is Strange game was a big surprise, I very much enjoy the series and wasn’t aware a new one was imminent.

More Fallout 4. Having a great time - funny, I don’t remember enjoying it half as much when I first played it about seven years ago. The improved graphics help. As I’ve got Monday off, I’m certainly going to give Still Wakes the Deep a go.

I’ll also try to make the most of the sunshine, since we had to wait six and a half months for it!

It’d be a toss-up between Lair of the Shadow Broker or Citadel. Actually, I’d probably go for the latter. It was entertaining to play but also funny and full of fanservice.

Might have a look at Skull & Bones at half price.

I confess to complete indifference. If I’d wanted to play niche Japanese stuff I probably wouldn’t have bought an Xbox in the first place. 🤷‍♂️

Looks good to me! I’m hoping for something tighter than DA:O, more like DA2, although I’d quite like my pirate girlfriend back.

New Life is Strange game! And a release date! Excited by that!

More Fallout 4 on Series X. I noticed that the last time I got an achievement on it was March 2017! This means I’ve forgotten enough about it to get a different play through. The new visual upgrade is good, don’t get me wrong it isn’t suddenly Hellblade 2, but it looks much nicer than it once did.

They missed a trick by not combining the two into a single game called ‘Sexdecapath Traveller’.

Excited for this one, the previews I’ve read make it sound just my sort of game.

I played Elden Ring for a few hours, but lost interest - there didn’t seem to be any story as such. Is there more to it than wandering around fighting things? So many people love it that I feel I must have missed something!

I’m not greedy. Some release dates for games in the pipeline and a new announcement or two and I’ll be happy.

I’m not sure that I’d even know where to go to buy a physical copy of a new game any more.

Still Wakes the Deep sounds good to me, looking forward to that one.

I enjoyed Open Roads - don’t expect a challenge, but I liked the story. Botany Manor is also very good.

I made a start on Chants of Sennaar but I have to say I’m struggling to get anywhere with it, so mostly just messing about in Fallout 4.

Has anyone mentioned the wonderful music yet? I ought to add that to all the other things I loved about it.

@themightyant I’ve never taken so many screenshots and captures in a game. At times it was getting in my way of actually playing it!

I’ve finished it now, but I’m going to have another playthrough after a couple of indie palate cleansers. It’s a flipping masterpiece if you ask me.

Humanity is well worth a go - I played through it on PS and will do so again on Xbox. As well as being pretty to look at, it has a hypnotic minimalist soundtrack.

@Trmn8r it does me too. Kind of a sweet and positive concept for a game.

Apparently Hellblade 2 is only 7-8 hours long, but it’ll probably take me about 30 because I keep stopping to take pictures! 😂 Total eye candy.

Off to Iceland with a madwoman! Really enjoying it so far, like a very grim, visceral (literally) art house movie.

Think I’ll give Rogue Trader a look, it sounds interesting.

I’m playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on Series X. I’d never played any of them before Shadow of the Tomb Raider appeared on Game Pass a few weeks ago. I’ve really enjoyed all three.

I might also have a look at either Immortals of Aveum, Chants of Senaar, Crow Country or I might finally get round to trying Dave the Diver on PS5. We’ll see. Have a good weekend. 🙂

I do like a good photo mode! Grounded has a great one, as does Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the Uncharted games on PS.

Xbox Live Arcade… aahh nostalgia! Remember the Summer of Live events? I think this was part of one of those.

As I mentioned over on PS, they’ll still complain they don’t sell enough. I can only assume their directors and shareholders think that every game they release should sell like GTA V.

I really liked the first game and was impressed by the sheer ambition of it. I also think Senua is a very compelling character. I’m looking forward to the new one and am surprised at the negativity that some people have decided to express about it. 🤷‍♂️

Maybe it’s just me, but I think that’s a bit mean. ☹️

To be honest, I’d sooner not have CoD on Game Pass than pay more. It’s not a game I like anyway.

Arkane Austin were always in the shadow of Arkane Lyon, so fair enough. Tango is a bit sad though, since they just had a hit game. ☹️

I didn’t play it when it came out - I was busy with BG3, but also the developers then said they were going to add various bits and improvements so I held off. It’ll be a first play through for me. I might save it for the usual ‘summer game drought’.

I didn’t play it at the time it was released as I got totally engrossed with Baldur’s Gate 3, but I’ll definitely have a look now.

I usually play the game for a bit to see. If it’s fast paced with a lot of movement, I’ll go for frame rate, otherwise I go for resolution.

Still on with Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Game Pass and still enjoying it a lot. I don’t know why I missed this one when it was released. I also downloaded the X/S upgrade of Fallout 4 so I might have a look at that. I still haven’t got around to Dave the Diver, so I might try that too.

I loved the series and it’s a few years since I played Fallout 4, so I might give the updgraded version a go, alternatively I might try Fallout 76.

10/10, I loved it - so much better than I expected. The best video game adaptation yet. Very funny too.

On Series X, based on the recommendation of a friend I’m playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Game Pass. It’s actually the first Tomb Raider game I’ve played. Very impressed so far! Good fun and looks great. I might also have a go at Dave the Diver on PS5 which looks good and is on PS plus.

I absolutely loved it - the bits that people who have played the game would recognise were used subtly but well. It was also often very funny. Quite Terry Gilliam-esque at times, I thought.

I did another chapter of As Dusk Falls, but decided to leave the finale for tomorrow. Thought I’d give Botany Manor a try on Game Pass and am enjoying it, very relaxing to play.

No idea. I haven’t played it yet!

More background and story missions for individual characters - really make us care when they get chomped!

@fabio1 the review of Botany Manor in the Guardian (4 stars) says “There are fantastic, upfront accessibility options for players who struggle with the motion sickness that can often come with first-person gameplay”

So it might still be playable for you if you are interested.

I downloaded Kona which looks interesting, but Botany Manor sounds like my sort of thing too.
