Well I'm not here to win anything, but yes I was somewhat baffled by what he thought he'd "won".
Was this imaginary competition to present the least convincing argument then scarper ? Well in that case then I guess he did "win"! 😂
GTA 6 is certainly bringing out some all round bizarreness.
I read an article today which talked about how YouTubers and the like are currently bandying around false narratives around the online ID check for GTA 6.
Contrary to what these cretins are stating the mandatory age verification is not only not a Rockstar requirement it's down to age verification laws in certain parts of the world, (such as the UK's Online Safety Act), and is only a requirement for the online portion of the game.
Even when presented with the facts these social media types doubled down.
Just shows you can't trust a great deal of what comes out of the internet. These people will literally lie to generate clicks.
Sadly it's quite typical of the online gaming community to want to desperately see something popular fail.
They're wasting their time, though. The only way they'll stop this monster is for the internet to completely shut down indefinitely the world over.
What are you waffling on about? Exposed what exactly? 😂
I see you didn't answer the question in how you're being fooled, conned, or whatever evil you think is being thrust upon you, though. Can't say I'm surprised.
You think it's gross, I don't. Rockstar aren't getting away with anything. This is how the game is being distributed and that's that. Again, no one has a gun to their head. You don't have to buy it, or any game for that matter. The choice is yours.
Movies and music come under different legislation than digital content for games. Games can be delisted due to licencing agreements, but they will remain in the end users library as long as they continue to use the connecting account.
Music and film is different which is why I only invest in physical media concerning these two mediums. Plus with music CD and vinyl sound 100 times better and Blu-ray has vastly superior picture quality than so called "4k" found on Netflix and co.
You know how these games are distributed, it's not a state secret and no one is putting a gun to your head. How you being played for a fool?
Not sure how you choosing to miss out makes you a winner though. All it means is in time you won't be playing any new games. I wouldn't call that a flex by any stretch of the imagination. 🤷
I also think people are exaggerating the importance of the additional content
Indeed they are. I had a nose on Push Square out of curiosity and they've dedicated an entire article to whining about it. Modern gamers only seem happy if they've something to whine about.
It's not a scam. No one is being forced to buy anything. If you're not happy with the distribution method then don't buy it.
I'll be buying the standard edition day one and I've absolutely no doubt in my mind I'll more than get my money's worth.
Millions of gamers like GTA and those same people are looking forward to GTA 6. Just because you post on a gaming site doesn't make you better than them.
That being said, and truth be told, no one will care one iota what a minority of "gamers" on a website think when they're enjoying GTA 6.
Also for people moaning about the price, why? If you're a GTA fan then you'll get your money's worth times ten. It's not like this is going to be a 5 hour COD campaign. It's a game people will be playing for weeks if not months and that's just the single player
Crimson Desert is next on my list. Watched some impressive YouTube videos with players looking like they were straight out of Mortal Kombat. Not just visually, but with some seriously impressive unarmed combat. Was doubly impressed that none of it was mods.
Your loss, especially come the next generation where physical games media for consoles will be even less of afterthought than it is now.
As someone who was there the moment PC games on a disc died out I guarantee you'll not be playing any new releases come the end of the next generation of consoles, if not sooner.
While as a collector of physical music and film and can appreciate the sentiment I feel that you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. The games industry's aggressive drive toward an all-digital environment means missing out on a huge percentage of great games now and many more to come if you only opt for the physical route.
Again I appreciate the sentiment, but is it really worth it missing out? Life is too short.
It's a good feature, no question, but currently there's an awful lot guff supported than quality. I've several games on my PC that deserve the Play Anywhere treatment.
Some of the choices are odd as well. For example, RE2 Remake is supported, whereas RE3 Remake is not. 🤷
It hasn't changed my game buying, but it's a welcome feature.
Being semi-retired gives me a lot of time for gaming, which is great.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - A truly remarkable RPG and a huge improvement on the first outing, which I also enjoyed. In the RPG stakes this will take some beating.
Atomfall - I've been pleasantly surprised by this. While it doesn't do anything particularly new or groundbreaking it remains a charming, undemanding ARPG that, even as Englishman myself, captures the Britishness of post WWII wonderfully.
Boltgun - This stylish, pixel-art shooter is an absolute riot. As a fan of retro gaming I do enjoy modern games that adopt old school gameplay and visuals and Boltgun is up there with some of the best.
Forspoken - Every now and then I like taking a chance on a game that generally wasn't received all that well and more often than not I usually find myself pleasantly surprised. Forspoken is one such game. Granted the opening hour had me concerned as it's quite a dreary slog with a story that holds little interest, but once you're let off the leash and into the open world it's actually a lot of fun. Combat and movement has a real kinetic feel to it and as Frey's powers increase so does the enjoyment. Yes, I like it.
Evil West - Think I'm around 3/4 way through this fun and wonderfully violent 3rd person action game. Reminds of something between Nightmare Creatures and Darksiders.
Also bought a few games for the back catalogue. South of Midnight, Oakwood, Pacific Drive, and You Must
(Not including those on my PC that are Play Anywhere. I suspect I'll pick up one two other titles for it, maybe a few classics from OG Xbox and the 360)
Agreed. Steam requires that you have at least played a game before being allowed to review it, however I feel the time allowed should be higher. Still, better than nothing.
On a somewhat related note GTA 6 has sold 50 million pre-orders so far. Generating an estimated $4+ billion in revenue before launch.
The initial batch of boxed copies with a digital code sold out at major retailers like Amazon within one hour.
This is all set to be the biggest gaming success in the history of the industry.
Agreed. If I didn't have the PC and the Play Anywhere option wasn't a thing for some of my other games I would have opted for a PS5 Pro rather than a Series X for GTA 6.
Until GTA 6 is released on PC there's no question Pro will be the best place to play it.
While it's great to see classics get a new lease of life these prices are ludicrous.
Glad I have the knowhow to build my own retro gaming system, (not the barely workable junk you see on the likes of Facebook), filled to the brim with classics spanning back some 50 years.
I'm assuming you're closer to my age given your reply. It is indeed disappointing what gamers argue over these days, things that they have absolutely zero control over.
I actually prefer those times when someone would throw "PCMR!" etc at me because I blew a load, perhaps even unnecessarily, on a new GPU as opposed to the financials of any given player in the games industry.
Yes the debate on both sides is moronic. I'm happy to have politics in my games, but it shouldn't dictate development. As I say, look what happened to Saints Row. I finished the campaign, but was totally underwhelmed. They'd ripped the very heart out of it.
Volition's attempt to appease a vocal minority on Twitter saw the studio shut down due to Saints Row's disastrous turn out.

there's a lot of people already defending the price
What's to defend? It's £10 more than any new AAA console game, but unlike a lot of £70 games it will undoubtedly see a return on that investment.
Also GTA 6 reportedly has cost $1billion to develop, they could charge a lot more if they really wanted to.
With the cost of development continuing to rise
the days of £50 or less for new AAA releases are long behind us. What were you expecting it to cost, £40 or something?
The entertainment industry has been after the pre-owned market for years - and they're winning.

Re: Poll: If You're Buying GTA 6, Are You Getting The Standard Or Ultimate Edition?

It's the equivalent of proudly announcing to a room full of people that you've never watched Star Wars.
GTA 6 is all set to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time. You'll always get those ready to tell the room "they've no interest in it".
Attention seeking, basically. "Look at me! Everybody please look at me! I'm a edge-lord who needs attention!"
Funny part? I suspect most will quietly be buying GTA 6, while maintaining they've zero interest in the game.

My bet is between £1200-1500 for Helix, with subsidiaries, at the very least.
