I cancelled my monthly subscription when it hit 20€... I still add a month once in a while with off market codes for cheap and immediately cancel the subscription (quite boring that Microsoft does not allow for single use without subscribing).

Talking hardware, series X is my favourite gaming machine (including UI and features). It is a shame it is the last of its kind

@Gabrie there are hundreds of games released every month. How would you choose if there are no reviews? They are personal opinions though and you need to know what the person likes/wants from the games to know if it is the same as you.
Personally the only thing I dislike nowadays is the fact most reviewers ignore the price tag of said game as for me the most important part in the end is the question "is it worth the asking price?"

I will try it at some point if I get GP for a month or when the game gets to a price point closer to its length 😜

I would not say very often but sometimes. There are classics I have played many times (link to the past and ocarina of time, super mario world and 64, all the 2d metroids, mafia (pc), etc.)
But also I kind of like achievements and I have replayed a few games on Xbox that I had played prior on other systems (mainly switch)

So far Silksong is in the lead followed by Clair obscure and Death Stranding 2 but Hades was my favourite of game of 2020(?) however I will only play the sequel when it releases physically in a few weeks. Kudos as well to South of midnight as it is a beautiful game.

P.s: games I played that are not high on my list are Avowed and donkey Kong bananza

Psychonauts 2 is not only the best double fine game but I one of the Best overall (crazy how almost did not make it to the end or in a good state though)

I played and finished it earlier in the year and unfortunately it is not good. Combat is boring and grinding. All characters are dull and after 10/15h I could not stand the dialogues any longer. Dragon age 2 still is the best in the series (not kidding 😅)

From the little I played it is everything we wanted (more of HK) 😜

This time I will be on the floor (first time) 😁

@Kaloudz I am with you on it. I need the progression, either by story or mechanics, etc. Also timed challenges are my biggest pet peeves in gaming overall...

"Couldn't care less" never was so much on the point (I do like Souls games)

I only played the first game recently (as part of PX game club) and absolutely adore it. Probably the best single player FPS ever made with interesting storyline and making you know the environment due to the having to figure out how to do the objectives.

I dropped out of it fairly quickly as I found the imperial city very hard to navigate, the two minigames (lock picking and the talk with NPC thingy) obnoxious and the menus not helpful. I ended up firing a new game of Skyrim instead 😂

The best game of all time is about to be 10 years old 😱

I pre-ordered one (even though I was on the fence) and bravely default but I do not see myself buying a lot of games at their prices... Neither mario kart or donkey Kong grabbed me

I like both but open world specifically I need either good narrative of side quests (skyrim or Witcher 3 for example) and absolutely dislike all Ubisoft ones or latest Zelda's

@Fiendish-Beaver agreed, the ultimate version is already awesome and should be the other 2 to be enhanced...

I definitely would not buy them. Regarding next gen I would not move with Xbox regardless, as it clearly going away from physical anyways

@somnambulance cannot say I have. Which others do you have in mind? My biggest gripes are the fact the whole thing is almost pointless by the end.

I have finished Clair Obscure yesterday (really fun but the story was a Huge disappointment by credits) and I am not coming back (for the third time) to DA Veilguard which by now I just want to pull credits on as I am afraid I agree with nearly all of its criticism. If I finish that I will be moving on to Oblivion next

I am kind of happy that I don't care about anything next month as we are eating Good lately and I have a lot on my plate 😂

@BacklogBrad I can agree with this to a point because yesterday's evening I played to the same point I got a few years ago (imperial city just after tutorial) and got whelmed. Compared to Skyrim everything is a bit hard to grasp specially in the menus which as far I could get have no filters or sort order features for example. I still have Veilguard yo finish and will start clair obscure as part of minmmax' game club so let's see if I feel like coming back after it.

Last of week of the month shouldn't be the following one though? 🧐

Zero chance it will have a disk drive and that is the reason series X will be my first and last Xbox system. Just since mid 2021 I acquired 70+ physical games across the 4 generations and happily will stick with the system until I played them all.

@LaurenceJ1987 I probably played them both 5-6 times but not in the last 10 years... I am definitely get into that very soon.

After Avowed and Road 96 (game club) and before xenoblade takes my life away I decided to finally give a go at Bully (enjoying it quite a bit) however I am currently stuck demolishing picross instead 😅

I am probably in the minority that I quite like it in comparison with the prior version. I specially like the shortcuts on top. But to be frank, since the update, I pretty much never scroll down as there is nothing there for me lol (but I just don't care 😅)

That is to be expected...

I played it on game pass PC last year and it is a fantastic game, probably my third favourite from kojima.

In terms of hardware I am really happy with the series X. However I joined the Xbox ecosystem this gen because I believed it was making the right moves against playstation and would make a move forward on the market and clearly that did not happen. Most likely Xbox will go full digital next gen and I will move on to other pastures (apart from the many many Xbox games I bought this gen)

Since I have the Xbox I tend to buy third parties on it (for the GS hahaha) along as they are released for the system... Which actually it does not happen quite some times as I play a lot of JRPGs (for example star ocean last year and most likely Ys x soon)

Obviously playing Metaphor!

My copy was just cancelled as it appears no copies have arrived in Portugal 😭😭 (even PS5 copies look quite sparce)

Although Star field is my favourite games from last year this DLC was already a bit hard to swallow as I am not into horror... Then I tend to not buy dlc in the first place (or wait for a sale) as I find that 99% of them are highly overpriced.
