FromSoftware has become one of the industry's most celebrated development studios recently, especially in the wake of Elden Ring and its chunky 2024 expansion Shadow of the Erdtree. Having said that, we're seeing a slightly cooler reception to anything Elden Ring Nightreign related so far, so we're checking in with you folks to see where your interest levels are at for this spin-off.

Nightreign, which serves as a co-op focused spin-off to FromSoftware's latest epic, is out on Xbox here in just a few days' time on May 30th. Up above, you can catch the game's launch trailer - which is another stylish effort to build hype from the Japanese studio. The question is, are you buying into that hype here as we near launch?

As super-fans of 2022's Elden Ring, we must admit that we're going into Nightreign with some trepidation at the moment. We're sure it'll be a mechanically solid title from the Souls masters, but that focus around three-player online play does have us somewhat wary heading in. How will the formula adapt to this new style? Only time will tell, we suppose.

It should be said that Elden Ring Nightreign can be played in solo too, although somewhat controversially, not two-player - it's solo or a full party of three for now, at least on launch. We're intrigued to see how the experience will play out in solo for sure, but co-op is certainly the focus, and we'll have to see how the FromSoftware formula translates to that here in just a couple days' time.
