The Witcher 3 Drops To 'Lowest Price Ever' In Unbelievable Xbox Deal

I've had the game on Switch for years, yet never played it. Should I get it on Xbox instead?

It’s a 9 from len I tried it recently and the controls are hella finicky compared to more modern games but everything else about it is exquisite

For a game so well regarded, that is dirt cheap!

Still a 10/10 game for me.

@Ricky-Spanish @MadCaptain2207 Guess I'll do that when I get home then, though I'm not planning to play immediately. First I wanna watch the Netflix series and then play The Witcher 2 (been on my Xbox 360 backlog forever).

For those who are considering buying this, I highly recommend going the few extra quid/dollars for the complete edition. Both DLCs were amazing, as is the base game. One of the best RPGs from the last decade.

It's a really good game, even if overrated. However, this price is undeniably great. Easily worth it for that low.

@deadmaker Yeah, I’d recommend a stronger console to play this game. While it is great on the Switch, there are too many compromises. I feel like you’d get a better experience on PlayStation or Xbox. That said, I played on PS and double dipped when it came out on Switch, and it was a great experience on both!

Forget the super cheap version and treat yourself to the one with the DLC. It's less like a single game then and more like an extra long saga or something. Amazing game. Best ever for me.

My favourite game ever. Really comes to life when you play it on the hardest difficulty (and I'm not one who usually likes super hard games) and you have to really engage with the different systems during combat.

@Kraven I know the game has cross progression between platforms, so the Switch version will have its use thanks to the portability.

I'll be getting this at this price.

I played it on Switch back in 2019, and have wanted to revisit it in a better state!

I am going to play 2 first though (praise backwards compatibility!)

@deadmaker For the price alone it's worth it I bought suicide squad for more and it was worth it just to play the campaign alone!

I've been gaming since the 80's. 10 years after release this is still my favourite game of all time. Great narrative, great characters, great quests, great voice acting, great music, great maps, just wonderful immersion. Plus best DLC ever made - better than most full games in the genre. It's magical if a little dated mechanically.

No thanks, despite it being a cracking deal. No offence to the game, but it’s sat in my PC backlog for many years, I’ve never been able to get into it properly. I don’t want it shaming me for neglecting it on my XSX too! 😅

My days of buying games simply because they’re on steep sale are over (…mostly), they must never return as that is how I ended up with such a scary large, anxiety-inducing backlog. I must employ self-control… must resist digital collecting…

If I didn't already own it that would be an amazing price. To echo others get the complete edition this is one of those games that it's well worth the extra few quid (or $) for many more hours of story content.

The best game of all time is about to be 10 years old 😱

I got it on sale about 3 years ago and didn't get on with it due to the controller sensitivity so I put it down. Went back to it last year and discovered I could tweak a couple of settings. Suddenly it was super smooth and my adventures with Geralt began. Played it on and off over a few months up to leaving Novigrad.

Genuinely one of the best games ever made. Still stunning to look at with a great story and lots of cool characters.

One day I'll go back to it. Too many other games want my attention.

Get it (or the DLC version).

EDIT: someone mentioned the combat being underwhelming... it's a 10 year old game but you can mix up melee, range and magic, plus bombs and potions etc. Just put some time into the latter to get your head around it.

@deadmaker definitely. It’s night and day experience, compared to Switch port (high quality textures, 4k, 60fps, HDR). This game apart from an excellent story and atmosphere is also a visual feast. While the Switch port is impressive the visual and performance downgrade is … substantial. For this price it’s a no brainer.

@krzysztof81 I did buy it last night and was comparing to the Switch version... Yeah, on the big screen the Switch port is pretty bad looking.

And also I found out something interesting: for the cross progression to work properly, both platforms need to have the same content. On the Switch I have the Complete Edition but on Xbox I got the base edition. The result was that I could transfer my save to Switch with no problems at all, but transferring the save back to Xbox simply didn't work, it showed me a list of things I needed to have installed for it to be compatible. The good news is that most of the DLC is free and buying only the expansion pass ends up being cheaper than if I had gotten the Complete Edition on Xbox. Lol
