@NEStalgia Let’s be honest, most rumours have been right. MS are too slow at controlling the narrative and poor PR alongside no marketing. Xbox as a console is dead. That may be OK long term. They could be a fantastic publisher and those who just game PC probably don’t care. This whole one toe in the water and four out is killing Xbox. It’s a s*** show every month and with studio closures and lay offs it’s tedious. I said to everyone who mocked the CMA, be careful. Who was right? I agree with you Sony are the Trump of gaming. It’s a cult. But it’s years of investment to brainwash us all. In the UK COD and FIFA/FC ARE PlayStation.
@OldGamer999 unfortunately I’ve mained my PS5 and Xbox has been sold. I’ve still got GP until April and game on PC. Just got Forza Horizon 4 ultimate on Xbox app for £1.50 after £7 vouchers. “you don’t need an Xbox to enjoy Xbox.” They were right. Sad times I’m not going to lie but won’t and can’t be putting £££ into 3rd party games into the Xbox as they are pulling out of the UK and Europe console wise 100%. It’s genuinely sad.
@NEStalgia mate, I love your posts, so funny. What is so depressing being an XSX owner is that it’s constant bad news at best and lies at worst. It’s clear MS can’t even keep their loyal players/fans who have paid decent money for a console. It’s an F you and let’s sell a fire stick app to a random. I’m pretty much done at this point.
Where does Xbox’s focus and pride in their consoles fit in? Series X was once marketed as a dream maker and the most powerful console in the world? I’m in the UK and feel it’s dying I’m thinking of either selling up or more likely maining my PS5 and keep XSX for exclusives. Such a fantastic console but MS doesn’t care about it at all. Why should I buy anymore 3rd party digital games on it? Is there a future.
It’s only a cut & paste rumour. It’s constant rumours though and changes in focus and prices. Depressing if you’ve stuck with the brand. Console wise anyway, it’s sinking it seems.
@GuyinPA75 I do like the S and have recommended it as long as one accepts the limitations but I don’t think it’s cheaper as soon as you add an SSD. That being said some people out there may just use as a GP box with one or 2 games on. It did get me back into the Xbox ecosystem though and I’ve been gone since 360.
I found the S a good starting new gen console but its limitations got annoying quick. And for £100 more for the X, I feel you are getting more than your money’s worth. You could pay nearly that for an external SSD to make the S playable. Just get the X.
To be fair to Microsoft, just going toe-to-toe, plastic box-to-plastic box with Sony and Nintendo hasn’t worked and won’t work. I’ve had every PS ever but don’t see what the fuss is with the 5 at the minute. Feels ‘safe.’ Microsoft are giving us something different with Game Pass and cross progression/cross purchase with PC. The IP library is now huge. As long as Xbox provide me with some sort of hardware to keep my library alive I am completely here for it. The ‘Xbox is dead’ hysteria of a few months ago now seems a bad dream (hopefully.)
I’ve come around to the idea. As long as Xbox keep making hardware/keep my library I’m happy. I don’t want to see the Crown Jewels like Forza, Halo, etc go elsewhere but pretty much anything else were always multi platform anyway before Microsoft bought them. Makes business sense to sell on other platforms. That game review show yesterday was unbelievable. Xbox has more games than PlayStation. I’ve a PS5 too and to be frank, I just don’t get where the ‘Sony has more games’ has come from. Urban myth. It literally doesn’t. The media negativity around Xbox is astonishing. Even this site continually pushes console wars and death knells.
@Sifi absolute joke to me that years into an essentially lost generation with PS4 games still coming out, Sony are releasing a 5 Pro. Not done an awful lot with the original and now asking saps to cough up again. To play Concorde? Joke.
Fantastic news. I’m pumped for this 90s Black Ops on GP day one. Xbox need to absolutely advertise the hell out of it, maybe offer Xbox only exclusives and sell the Xbox as the way to play COD. Excited.
Ain’t the marketing. What marketing? Zero marketing in the UK. The Series X is wonderful console though. Sad to see it spoke about like a Wii U. Sony have marketed their way to the top so well. Hellblade 2 comes out on PS5 first and the plastic box Pushers would salivate over another cinematic adventure! I game on Xbox, PS and Steam. Love all 3.
@jesse_dylan it’s not complex at all on console/controller. Really basic in control. It is text heavy but everything is voiced so you barely need to read (which benefits the PC steam deck version.) Really recommended for the right price. If you know the sort of game you are getting, it’s a masterpiece.
@Titntin I love my Series X and it’s my main this generation but we have Switch (getting well old now) PS5 and a Steam library. I must admit being shocked and disappointed by these rumours and Phil not denying it. I can’t lie that it doesn’t make financial sense for Microsoft to put all their games on all platforms but it does kill the Xbox console as a competitor and its identity. It is 100% a stab in the back to people like me and worse for people who have spent years and £100s building up a library. I will wait to hear what is actually said but if it goes that way I’m going to tap out, sell my Xbox gear and use the cash to invest more in PS5. Unlike Microsoft I don’t have infinite money and supporting a console/brand in last place that won’t support me back long term makes no sense. I only pay for multiplayer access on Xbox and not on PS5 or Switch to save money. Reluctantly, I’m gone and ain’t ever coming back It’s crazy because 2 weeks or so ago, the new Indy reveal blew me away and the idea it was an Xbox only game was awesome. I’m not against sharing games; everyone likes access to all games. But from the perspective of an Xbox owner, owning a fantastic console (in last place) it makes no sense. People are entitled to see this as a positive and for some it will be. This is Microsoft exiting the console space and flushing player loyalty down the toilet. Sorry but that is my opinion and from someone who adores Xbox.

Re: 'Tipster' Suggests Xbox Will Stop Marketing Consoles In Certain Markets
@NEStalgia is Xbox finished for console users especially in the UK?

It’s ‘number’ of copies, not ‘amount.’

What Xbox marketing??? Not in the UK.

Hi-Fi Crush…
When I said on here about the CMA doing their job and holding Microsoft to account, 90% of people scoffed.
Well… job cuts, closures, who knew.

@jesse_dylan I’ve got Disco on PS5 and Steamdeck. It’s excellent on console if the price is right.
