Re: Indiana Jones 'Selling Faster' On PS5 Than Xbox & Steam, Says Analysis

@Fiendish-Beaver 100%. Game Pass is great value.. too great a value for the consumer…
I’ve often wondered if offering a ‘core’ experience of a select games and maybe bigger releases 6-12 months later would’ve been a good blend of GP rentals and sales.
Offering the volume of AAA day 1 for no extra cost appears insane.

I like the naff story on GRID. Good racer.

I’ve only just got F124 cheap so wouldn’t bother with 25 until 26 is nearly out.

Sports games get stale every year. Surely in the digital age it would make sense to simply update the same game with a patch for a small fee? They want your £70 though for the same game…

Re: Soapbox: As A Huge Forza Fan, I'm Fine With Horizon 5 Going To PS5

@RadioHedgeFund the sensible thing to do at this point is for MS to pull out of hardware and sell, sell, sell on third party hardware. It’s a gold mine of IP.

Despite the warnings nearly 2 years’ ago, it’s insane to see Forza Horizon 5 on my wish list on PS Store.

I used to have a Series X and sold it to concentrate on PS and PC when it became clear they were pulling out/going full slate. It was a shame but in the UK very few people have Xbox and I didn’t want to pump more money into a dying console.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing… makes financial sense for MS to go full slate and share all the great games they have and make lots of money. I can however see that long term Xbox fans feel mugged off.

I’ve FH5 on Xbox PC and will double dip on PS5.

I think the future of Microsoft Gaming is secure but Xbox hardware is gone. I think that is OK.

Just my views.

Re: Microsoft CEO: 'We Are Redefining What It Means To Be An Xbox Fan'

@antonioacm I’m in the UK, you? Xbox doesn’t really advertise here…
I felt like when the generation started there were adverts for the Series S and X. Since the merger it’s non existent. I warned against the merger and people mocked the CMA but now who is laughing? That merger killed Xbox and created Microsoft Gaming imo.
Console has massively been left behind imo. If they go full slate what is the point of having the console? Just buy PlayStation and/or game on PC with free online play and cloud saves.
Are they really going to build another console? Why? To sell how many?
Xbox gave up on me as a console customer so I gave up on them and sold my X.

Re: Microsoft CEO: 'We Are Redefining What It Means To Be An Xbox Fan'

@antonioacm fair points. They are literally leaving Xbox console behind though. I was that consumer. They left me behind. They said you don’t need an Xbox to Xbox so I didn’t.

It’s not fake news. Satya has literally just posted they are going full slate and the ads tell you a TV is an Xbox now.

Do I think it’s a good move? Like I posted earlier, yes considering the corner they’ve put themselves in. Are traditional Xbox fans being mugged off? Hell yes.

I respect your opinions though.

@Kilamanjaro 100%. Series X has been a stunner. I only pulled out as I’m in the UK and I wasn’t convinced of the ongoing commitment. I’ve a PS5 for 3rd party games and moved to PC so play ‘Xbox’ there. I’m happy.

I think, for me, playing Xbox/Microsoft on PC with a PlayStation or Switch is a sweet spot. I can see why Xbox console owners are upset… you’ve been left behind/are poor relation in the new strategy…

Long term this is the right move for Microsoft as they were never going to catch up with Sony and Nintendo selling consoles. Did they try enough or did they lose focus and start chasing the merger??? I don’t know.

The Series X is gorgeous and deserved more.

Either way, I will be a Microsoft fan via PC going forward.

Re: Xbox's PC App Brings Refreshed Home Experience To All Users

x3King84

@Cakefish OK, I see. I can play the first party I want/own on the Xbox app like Forza, Gears, etc. But yes, certain games from my old Series X library don’t play. They are doing more and more titles ‘play anywhere’ though so it’s a long-game.
Being in the UK, and gaming on PC too, selling the Series X and just using the Xbox app, PS5 and Steam makes more sense to me.
But I see your point.

Re: Xbox's PC App Brings Refreshed Home Experience To All Users

x3King84

Weird. I’ve had this version for nearly 9 months I think… must’ve signed up to the insider programme by accident at some point? Always been happy with it and didn’t realise people had a different one!
I’m coming around to the play anywhere thing tbh. I say that from a PC centric view though. Xbox Console in the UK feels dead unfortunately. Fantastic Series X hardware but zero advertising and momentum. Truth is that PlayStation is too entrenched.

Re: Phil Spencer Explains Why 'This Is An Xbox' Will Be Beneficial To Console Owners

x3King84

@BAMozzy I don’t know anyone who would casually ‘cloud’ game. For most people that isn’t a thing. Just plugging in say a PS4 is a thing.

Xbox are right to try different things but it does seem like the console part of the business is the ashamed of cousin. Really bizarre. No advertising for console but lots of advertising for ‘you don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox.’

Shame because Series X and the controllers are very good. Tell people!
