Re: Xbox Hardware Revenues Down Again Despite Content & Services Growth

@OldGamer999 are you looking to off-load the X to fund it? Magpie gave me a decent price. I was slightly sad to say good bye and sometimes when a relationship ends and you go your separate ways, you are tempted to look back. I didn’t.

Have you considered a Steam Deck to have a taste of the Master Race?

I could see MS doing the handheld but again there are so many handhelds already licenced with Xbox so who knows. Maybe a hybrid.

As long as Xbox exists as a publisher or via a PC app I’m happy personally. Still adore Forza, Age of Empires and more.

@Fenbops I think you are right. They need to get on with it and call it Microsoft Gaming. I think it’s a sensible, different offering from PlayStation and Nintendo. No point having a PS5 clone.

I fear for Sony more than Microsoft. Microsoft can and will exist in the gaming space when Xbox is done. The money is in the digital games and subs.
Sony need the console but this gen has been awful and they have treated the customers badly. PS5 No at £825. No chance.

OK, maybe not that sensitive actually 😂 “You don’t need an Xbox to play Xbox.” And I didn’t.
Makes no sense for Microsoft to invest millions in a new console any longer.
To be honest, the Xbox app licenced onto HP/Dell/Lenovo hybrid type PC for under the tele makes more sense.
For those in America and beyond; ‘tele’ is television.

@OldGamer999 I already have pal. The hardware side is done and all in all that may not be a bad thing for some people. I play Xbox on PC and am happier there. I have a PS5 too and in the UK it’s the obvious main.
At some point Microsoft will work out a way to pull the plug on the console business and communicate that to people more clearly. They are communicating that now but being sensitive with it.

Re: Microsoft CEO Gaming Division Update: 'We Continue To Extend Our Content To New Platforms'

To be fair, since I sold my Series X (I’m in the UK) and play PS5 and PC, Xbox PC is the most fun I’ve had with Xbox. As a console player I wasn’t happy with Microsoft’s strategy but as a PC player I am.
I think Xbox will be OK as a brand but not sure about console. They can’t compete with Sony and Nintendo and have given up. It makes sense then to push ‘gaming anywhere.’
Xbox console outside of USA seems to have died though.
Go #fullslate

Re: Xbox Series X|S Console Sales Estimated At Under Half Of PS5 In New Report

x3King84

@OldGamer999 I tapped out of the X this year. Too much drama for me with few believable guarantees that Xbox will stay in the UK console market.
I’ve just got into PC gaming and have bought the Xbox games I want on the app there.
I feel I’ve the best of all worlds with PS5 as my console and Xbox/Steam on PC.
Xbox as console has become irrelevant to me in the UK and they look to be going ‘full slate.’ Maybe I’m the sort of customer they want. I don’t think they care about console sales so I don’t know how long they will keep it going? Plug in PC type job makes more sense? Maybe even licence to a third party PC manufacturer?
It’s a shame. Series X was awesome but never was backed and the UK is ‘Station country.
MS spent so much effort on that merger. Killed momentum and killed the gen. I did warn people.

Re: Phil Spencer On Game Exclusivity: 'We Have To Anticipate There's Going To Be More Change'

@Fiendish-Beaver mate I’m was in the position of being a lifelong PS guy who has just got into PC gaming. I bought a Series X (having dabbled a little with the 360 back in the day) this gen and had a good time. Then finally bought a PS5. I enjoyed Xbox but I’m in the UK and it’s dead here. No advertising. After Xbox started porting their games and the future in Europe seemed bleak I found myself not wanting to spend any more money on 3rd party games and fully pulled out. I’ve got GP on PC until next year. For me, Xbox massively changed after the huge merger. I said people may regret it and everyone laughed at the CMA blah blah.
Best thing all round is that Microsoft Gaming goes full slate.

@mac_da_man and maybe this is exactly the strategy now. Likes of you and I will play this on GP (PC/Series S) and then likely buy on PS5. Keeps GP customers happy enough and then cash in on full PS5 sales etc. It’s logical from a financial stsndpoint.
I personally don’t see how GP is sustainable with day 1 AAA games without sub rises and or more customers but that’s a debate for another time countless threads ago…

@MjJmediablogger I can see both sides. It’s a kick in the teeth to loyal customers but ultimately Xbox won’t win the console war/be viable in 3rd place. They’ve such a huge catalogue of IP why not sell it? I’d love FH5 on PS5.
But it comes at a cost… why buy an Xbox at all? I think that’s their strategy to move out of hardware and they know how to make money so they must know.

[Don’t mention Windows Phone]

Re: Rumour: Xbox To Announce 'Big' Game For PS5 Next Week

x3King84

One positive spin on all this is that there are fantastic Xbox games such as Forza Horizon, Gears, Halo, Flight Sim, Age of Empires and more that would make so much money for Microsoft on PS. Phil said they can’t win any console war (have they tried?) so I say port everything at this point. PS gamers are in for a real treat with fantastic games. I know it’s a kick in the teeth to long time Xbox fans but it’s reality and may secure the brand’s future if you know what I mean? Being a massive publisher with some sort of small console platform footprint mixed with PC and phone etc seems viable to me in the circs.

Re: Xbox's Hi-Fi RUSH Studio Tango Gameworks Revived, Acquired By PUBG Publisher

x3King84

@TheSimulator I guess they’ve gone all in on big money franchises now like Call of Duty. I understand that as they need to make zillions back. What seemed disingenuous though was when someone at Xbox I think said that Hi Fi was a Game Pass gem or something? And then Booty coldly pulled the trigger. Call of Booty style (we doing that?)
I guess Microsoft just doesn’t have the time for this type of game with little returns? Crazy it was an Xbox exclusive too and well thought of.
On the plus side it’s such a nice story that the studio is back open as many people seemed upset that it closed and Hi Fi died with jobs lost. I’ve actually bought the game today on the Deck for £6!
