Video games were expensive, in the 80ies (at least in Europe). But you know where is the difference compare to 2025? Games were STABLE, day one !! Look at oblivion remastered: they will make more updates (for the choppy frame rate...). Oh Microsoft is not the only one : you have the same problem on any platform !! I'm sorry but oblivion is NOT a dungeon crawler, so you have chunk of the story in a Open world. When the frame rate is SOOOOO bad, I'm sorry but I'm completely out of the game.
I really hope for patch... One day... But I'm not really sure: there was NO miracle with starfield on Xbox serie X so...

Is it me or.... Old studios with old IP are too lazy to create sequels ?
Those are the same games... But with a better look. Wow... I'm not impressed!!!

It could be cool to have a real multimedia center inside the switch 2 in order to listen to your favourite tunes. I'm not talking about streaming services like Deezer but your own compilation on your SD card. It's really boring to not have a good multimedia app on Xbox serie X. Hell : PS5 can't read CD audio at all... And Sony invented Audio CD with Philips!!!
Anyway good luck to Nintendo. For me it's over. I'm waiting for a Steam deck so ..

The trouble here is when you're an old Xbox fan : there is a good chance you already own those games...

So ... If I'm paranoid... You need to backup all your games on a external HDD...

I'm ready to pay for INNOVATIVE games and not sequels or remastered versions (hello Mr Sony, what's up ??). Sadly it's becoming rarer and rarer each year...
I think it's a "clever" move from Microsoft for the selling of gamepass. I'm not sure if the real sales of those games will be there.
It's good for the consumer but I'm not sure that those "sales", EVERY week on Xbox store are a good sign for players. They'll wait for... A sale for any games, especially with games at 80 € and won't buy day one !

@Titntin finger cross. As I have both system (PS5 and Xbox), I'll take it on PS5. One good "plus" on PS5 is the haptic return , that we don't have on Xbox serie X. It's pretty clever and immersive.
I hope that Microsoft will include a similar technology inside the next Xbox controllers. Hall effect joysticks and trigger would be great on xbox , too !!!

I'm really old now... Studios used to be artisans. Games were stable 20 years ago... Nowadays it's a competition between studios to launch the most "not polished" game. I'll wait to get it on my Xbox series X...

Nope. I'm aware of the development time for those games but... Video game market is bigger now compared to the 90ies. And let's be honest: there is too much games on the market nowadays. You need to make a coup quickly due to the fact that games are launched every week !! As an old schmuck, I'm furious with studios in 2025. They keep launching games "unfinished" all the time...
Besides it's studios which imposed a 7 hours total length. In fact big studios have no new ideas and keep buying small studios with still new concepts or new ideas.

I owned 5 Xbox elite 1 and 2 elite 2 controllers... I sold everything and now I play with 3 gameSir G7 HE. There is a wire but the controller is light, works great and I have hall effect joysticks + mechanical buttons for d pad and the 4 buttons + 2 extra buttons in the back (configurable too) It costs 45 / 50 euros. I'm really happy !
Sadly you can't find the same offer on PS5 (haptic returns are copyrighted by Sony...).

I saw the first review from independent journalists: it's the same old , same old.
It's full of FEDEX middle missions, the story is boring and the journalist finished with "ghost of Tsushima did a better AC shadow in the end" . Life is short, with real things to do. Ubisoft ' s model is now VERY old. Maybe it's time to sell this licence to another company? Look at Tomb Raider : Crystal Dynamics refreshed completely the Tomb raider licence!! Time to do something new Ubisoft !!!

@Lup I agree. Evil West was in my case boring as hell. I have played this game before, on other systems with a different story... Sure some players have nostalgia for brutal TPS but this one is really dumb and repetitive. I also played call of duty in my youth so I used to like those games.... Well not anymore.

Yes there is work in this game, but... But it seems that Obsidian is now lurking around "noob / Fortnite" players. This NOT a true Rpg. NPC are not interactive, many elements scream "generic!!!", enemies are PVP sacks, you have big slowdowns sometimes (ok unreal engine 5.x fault...).
I got bored after 6 hours. You 'll get good equipments / magic elements after only 10 hours. Before that combats are dull and repetitive.
So yeah AVERAGE for me, when you knew and you appreciated Obsidian before...
This is a new departure. Sadly, the bad communication and the woke "layer" didn't do good for this game. I'll wait and see for the next The Outer World 2... I really hope for a "normal" RPG.

I read the reviews of independent journalists : it's same same old. Same mechanics, but with too big "empty" maps (made for multiplayer...??). Graphical engine is now old too. You have to add soporific story...
Maybe I'm getting too old but... Keep playing repetitive and non imaginative games are boring for me...
And to think we will have another sequel in 3 years... At least try to change the historical time, like say Vietnam or Iraq war... Just saying. But of course aficionados will play this game...

No. The thrill is gone. Shenmue is now history (and before you burn me, I bought Shenmue 1 and 2 , day one on my Dreamcast and my Xbox...). Again, a game launched 5 years before the era of adventure games (like the first Outcast on PC...). But... The Gameplay, QTE feel "old"...

And some people,after dragon ages fiasco, continue to support / read "journalists", paid to review a game ?? I'm glad someone points out the "problems" with this game...
I'm not sure if I'll buy this one... I'm probably biased by the last awful Indy movie...

What a boring / repetitive game.. let's play a Uber eats simulator... But I the country side... i'll probably never touch a Kojima production anymore, because of this game (I pre order it day one on playstation... What a mistake !!!)

We have now more reviews: levels are "basics", graphicals are very cartoon, and the game teach lessons about...wokism and pronouns. Animation is basic but... There is a real work on backgrounds, interface,... So yeah, a lot of efforts for this product... Sadly no test from a panel of players Before the launching day... And the competition is fierce on video games right now.
