Re: Xbox's Sarah Bond Talks About Bringing Demos To Xbox Game Pass

demian

@Xiovanni how do you know that games with gamepass demos won't have free demos as well?

once again gamepass demos are for gamepass users, non gampeas users cant simply download.

gamepass demos are not to make you buy games, because the games are free for gamepass users. is just to make it easier to try the free games

Re: Xbox's Sarah Bond Talks About Bringing Demos To Xbox Game Pass

@Xiovanni xbox already has demos, that are supposed to make you buy the games.
The gamepass demos are only to give a quick taste, the product is already paid and it's gamepass not the game.
And customers are convinced to buy services not with demos, but with services trials. Similarly to how streaming is not enticing people with single episodes of series but with 7 day trials.

That a gamepass perk, if you want demos you can always download the ones available.

@Kooky_Daisuke I agree that neflix is going downhill like for ever now.
my point was that noone would replace a compele product with a trial version, your fear of seeing games replaced by demos would never never happen and nothing pointed at it being a possibility.
the demos are just there to make it easier to test the full product, they could never be the product.
if the demos are cloud only that would allow someone to test games instantly.
if the demos are downloadable that would allow to check a game by downloading a small part of the game and save time and data.

there are already demos for xbox available to everyone https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/game-demos/games/xbox
what's the point in making the gamepass demos available to everyone?

@JayJ of course you are, that's not what I was saying though.. People are not entitlent to decide what shows/games etc should be like.
And complaining that the show is all about sex is wrong, as was comparing sex with other bodily functions.

almost all non-broadcast dramas have sex scenes: vikings, westworld, breaking bad, got, sopranos. even the wire had a couple.

Where they all about sex?? No they weren't...
Was you complain biased? Yes it was...

@UltimateOtaku91 the last part is not true. Kioxia's is majority-owned by Bain Capital, Sharp by Taiwan's Foxconn, Sony's 60% belongs to foreign investors. that's just a few I found qith a quick search, he just doesn't want MS to buy Sega 😅

and by the way the JP ministry of finance publishes a list of companies it requires prior notifications for foreign investment and gaming companies don't require one. that's fopr weapon, space etc companies only

@GADG3Tx87 the tweantown article looks ridiculous in retrospect.
"The reality is Microsoft doesn't care all that much about Xbox." and "Microsoft isn't going to pay out big for gaming acquisitions any time soon." standing out the most

as for the lexology article it clearly says "The business-related restrictions are imposed on, among others, investments in any business related to:
national security;
public infrastructure;
public safety ;
protected domestic industry" and
" In fact, since liberalisation of ForeignDirectInvestments in 1980, there has been only one case where the ministries have actually issued a suspension order."

Japan won't stop the sale of Sega when they have allowed ¥39.7 trillion investements in other companies.
pachinko sales and taxes will continue under any owner (btw Sega has ONLY 400million pachinko sales) and Microsoft will most likely divest pachinko.
Microsoft by the way already has a big corporate presence in Japan (2000 employees when Sega has 3200 globally)
https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/library/pdf/settlement/2022/20220210_presentation_e_final.pdf

Sammy Holdings already belongs 28% to foreign investors
https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/stock/share_sample/

by the way Sammy's revenue decreased 24% in 2021 and their earnings decreased 76%, so they are not as financially secure as you make them up to be
https://www.segasammy.co.jp/english/ir/individual/operating-results/index.html#latest-results

and they are not the biggest publisher in Japan, they actuallly sell more overseas than they do in Japan. they are the 5th publisher https://www.statista.com/statistics/689649/japan-leading-video-gaming-software-companies-by-revenue/

I get that you don't want MS to buy Sega, but what you say are mostly inaccurate. Sammy Holdings is basically a 4 billion company, Microsotft can easily buy them through the stock market and Sammy Holdings have to answer to the shareholders like any public compnay

@Odium that's my understanding at least, humans got scared, were shooting everywhere while the spartans knowing the covenant armors could withstand shots and being expert marksmen shot at the face. It makes sense as a tool to show non familiar viewers that they are super soldiers.

I liked it a lot myself, there's not many scifi series out there, especially with the expanse gone. And I like Pablo schriber since he got his uncle killed by the Greek in the wire.

Re: Rumour: Xbox Has Some New 'Hardware' To Announce In 2022

@CrazyJF all smart tvs have stores and they already have the android and the ios apps ready, so they only need to create a tizen and webos one to cover most of the market
the problem is that tv manufacturers are not upgrading the os at all (webos) or just for a few versions. So after a few years MS will have to maintain a dozen different versions of their apps. A lot easier to release a dingle they can upgrade at will

Re: Microsoft Is Buying Activision Blizzard, Reportedly For $70 Billion

@themightyant but they did andf it didn't happen. Netflix has a huge debt, thats the only way to repay it, Amazon prime is not comparable as its not a simple subscription service, they have bundles a dozens services together,
sotify and uber most liekley are like neflix, microsoft is now. look what they do with microsoft365, price is totally normal
