Man I am mixed on this on one hand I feel like microsoft has a right to do this for a couple of reasons. One its their damn box they should be able to say what works on it. Its not like we can play ps5 games on it. Two I do understand cheap components hurting the brand inage if you buy some off label cheap controller that says it works on xbox and it breaks two days latter does the lay person understand that is not on microsoft or xbox becuase they didnt approve of the company?
However, I do agree with the sentiment that we paid for the box and when we got it this stuff it worked fine to retro stop this is bad for the consumer that supported xbox in the first place.
If they could somehow have a firmware update or whatever that says this older stuff is fine but going forward it stops now that could be a really good compromise. I don't know if that is possible.
After that I think it really does fall on these companies your making money of xboxs back you should kinda rend on to ceaser what is ceaser's
I think my biggest issue is even if your a die hard xbox guy like I am, we have shown tremendous loyalty to the brand through some pretty rough days and I think they could be a little more loyal to us and say is this best for our players? Or what can we do to assuage this hurt and make it better for the people were hurting. I don't know if that exists in corporate America anymore.

I feel bad for the people who got laid of this sucks. This is just the result of poor management. Why does the guy in charge for making these ***** anti consumer decisions never have to take the fall. Look at it this way at one point in destiny you could buy and get everything with one purchase and they were making money and had tons of players. Then some ***** decided hey lets charge people extra to see the sunshine and dungeons and add a pass for being able to play the game. Were going to get tons of cash! Except now their making less money and firing people who had nothing to do with it and have pissed of the people they depend on making money off.
It is just greed running amok I have no issue with them making cash. I pay full price for most of my games these stupid loot box and pass shenanigans are killing games.

I would love to play morrowind for the first time.

@abe_hikura I'm a huge paradox guy I started with the original EU on PC so long ago but lately their quality has been terrible. it's really concerning to see one of your favourite game companies go down a terrible road.

I played it from day one for on the series x. Did it have bugs I guess I really enjoyed it it was fun to me the story was really good and I enjoyed the gameplay. They should have never released in on the old gen consoles. I will say the fact that they stuck with it and continued to work on it says a lot about them. Maybe a lesson in hype also.

@CaptnDave same here I'm defiantly going to put down CK3 and Starfield and try this. This is the one bad thing about gamepass is you never know how long its going to be on there so you sometimes need to shuffle the games your playing.

I am a big paradox fan. I have been playing their games since EU 1 man that was a long time ago I am really old. While I have no interest in this game I feel like they are one of the few companies that still really loves what they do and cares about their customers and games. Paradox fans are the best customer reviews to read on steam when they have a bad expansion or what they feel like is a bad expansion to one of their many games. the delay if it means a better console port and more people getting a better opinion of the types of games they make can only be a good thing.

I guess you have to create a third party account to play which is stupid in the first place but I can't get it to work it's been obliterated.

@FatalBubbles I have it ranked higher than you but I agree very surprised about the loading screens and some of them are kinda long.

Bought my OG Xbox for Morrowind the 360 for Oblivion been Xbox ever since. Loved fable one and two really hoping for their new one. I would have bought into it now for starfield.

What is hate speech I play with a Canadian and constantly tell him a troop of girl scouts could conquer his country. We talk trash always have since the ghost recon Early days of Xbox live. My friends and I only use party chat for this exact reason. I don't know what hate speech is according to Xbox they probably shouldn't look at my texts about the new dashboard.

it might be the single worst thing micosoft has done its terrible. I cant get to the games I want i dont need a bunch of hot garbage forced down my throat.

From the beginning. When Xbox live launched not knowing I had to press the white button to talk. Island thunder for the win

I think they just come off as douches to often. Even when they do something kinda right it's like look at us we didn't douche it up that time. I hope that Xbox puts some gamers back in charge and not glorified accoutaints.

@RIghteousNixon @InfamousOrange yep already ordered it. I get what you're saying infamous but it also comes with the expansion and I would have bought that anyway. This is the first time I have ever bought their little upgrade for a gamepass title.

Sleeping dogs is a really good game can't recommend it enough.

@Rangers420 @Rangers420 Same I have played pretty far into it but there are some things i cant stand i feel like the nemesis system is super overpowered in this one. and they adapt so fast I am just not good enough combat wise which is strange to admit.

@theduckofdeath I agree with you you would have to buy the expansions anyways. With the upgrade I'm getting one expansion and early access which works for me. If it is not your cup of tea wait the five days and there is no extra charge.

The whole point of having plus much like game pass is the day one release.. honestly on the PC or can be worth a month here and there for them not to have it day one defeats the point.

Avowed surprised me the most in a negative way the graphics just looked bad and then they said its been dialed back. I didnt really like the tunnel vision of the outer worlds so I am disappointed in hearing its not going to be a big open world.
Starfield from the adoring fan to the new birds eye view for building to it just looking fun was a great surprise. I am thinking it might just dethrone morrowind from my pantheon.

@NEStalgia this honestly made the show for me. Everything else was great but it just brought back so many good memories from the xbox 360 days. I bought my 360 just to play oblivion remember it was not on the ps3 to start I am pretty sure that is correct. I think for me this game is going to be epic.

@Cashews totally understand this sentiment. However I like Phil and think he is doing a good job. The one important thing he has done is to get Microsoft totally onboard with gaming. I know theere have been some lean years but I think we're on a major up swing.

@NeoRatt it's hard to believe it has been that long for some of those games. Like you I am really excited for the future. on the bug front its an wide open world there is going to be some bethesda jank in it no matter what. I sometimes enjoy the crazy things that happen. I remember on the 360 days for oblivion i found an item that was just a yellow exclamation mark.

@themightyant I do understand what you are saying. I would have to pay for the expansion anyways and it comes with this bonus so its not that big of a deal to me.

@carlos82 ya mine downloads at most 30 mbps for the pc. it took 20 plus hours to download ark maybe more.

@BobCoffee same i get blazing speed on the console the pc downloads from xbox are miserable though.

So is this game worse than cyberpunk launch? I haven't played it but I loved cyberpunk even at launch but I was playing on a series x so it was not bad.

We're moving about 1500 miles around that time so I'll have to watch later sad times truly.

@NEStalgia Ya man I just wonder if the game is getting 9/10's everywhere how much better could it have been if they didn't spend so much time and resources thinking of crazy ways to milk the ip? I understand immortal almost all mobile games are cash grabs but this is one of your core flagship games how greedy you got to be? Make it good and you will sell through the roof want some m ore cash after that do an expansion with a new class or more story. Enough ranting from me I am just very skeptical but they own the ip it is up to them to be good stewards. On a side note does this discussion make anyone else feel like they are really old and just whishing for the days of expansion pass preorders? lol!

I did try the server slam and really enjoyed the druid. I stopped playing at about lvl 10 just so I wouldn't spoil anything. Like I said before I do not begrudge them for wanting to make money to support the game and co0ntinue development I do understand they are a company that is in it for the cash and things cost money.

@themightyant @PsBoxSwitchOwner So I decided I would do some research I went to the games website and they do not mention the mtx stuff at all. If you look in the forums you can find info but you shouldn't have to do that. Look I have no problem with them saying were doing this to support the games future but come out and tell us all the costs. I have thought for a long time that we need a section on video games rating that says estimated cost going forward like you have when you buy a car from a dealership. This makes me sound really cheap but I am not I just do not want to buy something and then feel hornswagled if you want to sell cosmetics fine just have a store for that don't make me do some dumb pass.

@themightyant I was going to preorder but i cant really find a clear answer to their monetization shenanigans how much is this stuff going to cost? I shouldn't have to be an internet sleuth to discover this. Also why cant they just release the battle pass tract and let us see whats in it?

@NeoRatt its funny how people have different tastes whem i had a playstation 4 none of those games did anything for me they felt to forced down a certain path for me. However, if i were a play station owner i might be asking for an elder scrolls/starfield type game.

@Lup just an idea of what its going to be like and a time frame even if its next decade to have when it comes out.

I have been playing Xbox since year one not day one but close it was the system that got me into elder scrolls. I loved the first fable. I can show some patients I think the one thing that irritates me though is announcing games that are a trillion years out. On the other hand if they don't announce there working on fable we're just going to be inundated with the rumors. So maybe they should have just said hey we're working on fable it being done by this studio but it's a while out. I am stoked about starfield if it's as good as the elder scrolls games that's going to be great and shut up lot of this nonsense.

@Bleachedsmiles one of the best parts of it on PC is you get day one games with the best version included like the gold or super super deluxe edition. That's on PC for games like anno or assassin's Creed you can sign up for a few months or whatever get your fill and cancel.

@InterceptorAlpha thanks man I didn't know about the cash shop or battle passes. I really enjoy 2 playboy quite a bit but d3 is its own kind of fun the druid is my absolute favorite class so d4 has that going for it.

@BBB i9 read an interview today that said they are purposely going to have ques that might be the dumbest thing I have ever heard. A game developer say. You know how many copies you sold you know what your servers can handle I have never really understood this process.
