@Kaloudz basically exactly this. I really only let my kid play Minecraft or Lego Star wars, but yeah the second I want to play some zombie infested thing that would cause nightmares he is totally interested.
@Rog-X I have both rogs and the X is three times the battery life probably. I also play plugged in in my recliner and have a really good battery pack for longer trips.
@carlos82 With Xbox adding more and more non game pass to cloud gaming some day most of your library might be available. My ally is amazing with cloud gaming.
@Fiendish-Beaver the current rog ally can play on a TV or even a laptop. Also the single greatest thing about it is it's windows so any game store you can get on windows works well. I have a bunch of my old psp games on it like final fantasy tactics. The huge advantage over the switch is loading times .
@Kaloudz I'm in the same boat as you the kids takes priority on the TV right now. Also with the handheld it lets me play games that wouldn't be appropriate for him to see anyway. Like dying light 2 or RD2. I can't say how good the desktop/gaming versions of the rog ally controll scheme is it's amazing.
honestly the rog ally is pretty great I have both versions. and a car plug and some extra batteries. I just did a 12 hour trip from where I live to the west coast for a funeral and it was great. but I play games like pillars of eternity, tavern keeper or kynseed on long trips. playing no Man's sky and 7 days to die on it while plugged in is great. I just don't see what an Xbox handheld would do better especially with the cloud gaming expanding to non game pass games. the one feature that would be great is being able to pay for a wireless account for it like my watch.
I actually was wondering today if a new rog ally was coming soon. I have both previous versions and their pretty awesome. currently playing path of exile on steam with it so much better with using the joy sticks and rb to move then a mouse.
obviously gta is the big dog at the table, but if I had to choose between the 2 fable wins everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I bet there is a large crowd of Xbox people who feel that way. Currently I have no burning desire for gta 6. I'm sure it will be the most successful game ever but I really do think Fable has a pretty big market if it's not a mess when released.
I'm really digging the magic. the mele took a minute to get used to. idk if it's the first person view or what but it feels a little bit off to me. what it's really made me want to do is pause it and finish the first two games in the shared world. so, that's a testament to it's quality. It seems like I'll really enjoy it. The closet game i have to compare it to recently is just how much better it is then dragon age veilfraud.
The First one had some of the funniest quests I have ever experienced in a game. There is one where you do crazy stuff with a priest and the whole quest line is just crazy your basicaly being a reprobate to the max. I am very religious and it didn't offend me it was just hysterical. The ending pulls it all together too!
@SuntannedDuck2 a daggerfall remake would be epic if they fixed some of the wackiness that game was amazing for it's day. Oblivion was great but it was dumbed down from Morrowind and Skyrim was dumbed down from oblivion. I had fun in all the games though I would prefer a Morrowind then Oblivion remake by the time I was done playing 6 might be out.
@Lup I played a ton of the romance of the three kingdoms 3, and4 on the snes and several for the playstation 2 they were some pretty fun times for strategy games. I loved all the old Koei games Uncharted Waters 1&2 and the P.T.O. series Nobungas Ambition didint like the newer stuff in those series though less strategy more action or graphics I guess.
@Lup are the dynasty warriors games good is it just mashing buttons? Or is it more rpgish it looks cool in those pics but does it have a story? I have never played one.
@Markatron84 ya I have a ton of hours in all their games and there are bugs, but what he's describing I have never experienced. on topic I wish it were Morrowind with just a combat system update. that game was so good the non hand holding and being able to kill main quest characters. It was to me their best of the bunch oblivion is tons of fun though.
here is a tip for crazy fun in oblivionsteal the goblin totems from the 6 or 7 different goblin tribes and place them all together some where with guards you get a giant melw when the goblins try to take them back and free loot from the bodies
@OldGamer999 I read this article late so hence the late response. anyhow I think fable would do fine even next to call of duty. I'll never play a cod but fable is the single most talked about wanted game from my core friends that I made in the og Xbox live days. I still remember how excited I was for the first second and third and how dumb I thought Microsoft was mandating that stupid 4 vs 1 and ***** Kinect game then closing the studio. long winded point being I think fable will sell because a certain group of og Xbox players liked it as a series. It won't do cod numbers but I think it would do fine. My bigger issue is gamepass turning into a gating mechanism where they are delaying games due to bs calendar manipulation?
@jesse_dylan @Bigmanfan I think paradox losts their way for a bit the goodnews is the recent hoi 4 exp and crusader kings expansions have both been really good. So maybe their righting the ship i sure hope so.
this has been a huge problem for a long time just do a search for it you will find tons of posts and Microsoft has done nothing. try downloading star field or ark ascended it'll take a day at 30 Mbps it's un believable they refuse to acknowledge it.
@Kezelpaso the two transponders thats next level stuff there. @themightyant the stealth series has always been pretty big I think they get their name from the noise cancelling its great. I just dont know if i can live with out the dolby atmos.
Man for me it is gears of war I have never even tried it not once. Forza is ok i just get tired of the dlc this and dlc that cars I kinda feel like your getting ripped off after a point. Halo was great I just have not played it in awhile But had some great times in 2 and odst. Fable is def my fav native xbox series 1 was good 2 was great 3 wasnt that good to be honest. Really looking forward to playgrounds attempt.
@IGN_Commenter What is BGS RPGS? I get it bethesda I agree they are some great games for me it goes Morrowind, Oblvion, Skyrim in my rankings I liked daggerfall but it is rough.
@themightyant this...... on the political spectrum I don't agree with support some things but it doesn't effect me enjoying the game. so far it's been really fun the combat my biggest worry has been terrific. knocking q guy of a cliff is always a good time and if you haven't yet here's a hint do it it's rewarding..
@Hurblyburbly I don't know anything about skill up and other people's agenda. I as a lover of the other three games story will give you where I'm at.
1 was just incredible 2 I didn't care for the gameplay loop but the story was great 3 I felt was more like 1 and the gameplay was great again.
For me all three had great stories and were very interesting.
the things I was worried about in this one have been proven pretty much unfounded. they changed to a more action combat like 2 and you lost some second to second control of your companions. they also changed the art style.
The combat is actually great and you can tell your companions what to do and they have skill trees like you that you can lvl and chose from I'm really liking both these things.
the art direction change seems fine I have no opinion on it one way or the other but I used to play packman. I think some other shots were taken about the writing and some of the alternative lifestyle stuff too. While I don't care for that stuff personally it's always been in bioware games so it should probably be expected.
all that said so far it's a good game to me I made an earlier comment about it being tedious but I was under the weather yesterday and its feeling pretty good to me right now the story is starting to take off and it's been good so far
sorry for such a long post.
I've played about 3 hours so far the combat is better then I could have hoped for. We'll see how the story shakes out. I am trying to like the game over all but right now it feels tedious to me without a pay off.
@Tasuki have you watched the credits their a lot of fun. also I agree with you it deserved a sequel or another game in the universe. I m not sure why it doesn't get one it seems like they could hit it out of the park.
I picked jade empire it was close between that and dragon age and mass effect. I'm just shocked how high mass effect 2 is on peoples list. the gameplay for me limited ammo narrow corridors was hot garbage. loosing a fight multiple times because you have 100 bullets wasn't fun for me.
@Fiendish-Beaver hey brother thanks for your service. I also have some hearing issues and the dolby atmos movie mode makes it so I dont have to rely on closed captions for everything. @GuyinPA75 it has a little bit of a wonky save system but other than that its a great game. @NEStalgia I think you make a good point on why was it even allowed to be locked up in the first place. The we only did evil to prove and stop them from doing evil is a going defense today everywhere. It basically comes down to this how much is suing them going to cost and did this game really cost them any money at all. It would be one thing if its a game featuring a cross dressing Mario that might hurt an ip.
