I don't understand the people saying the trailer is nothing like fable. It has the terrible corny humor it seemed very fable to me. the dei comment what fable has had girls playing an important part from the start and the giant is black who cares. it was funny to me.

@GeminiReign I thought fable 3 had all the things they were promising since fable 1 the story was just a stinker. You are right in saying they need to knock it out of the park.

@PJOReilly first let me say thank you for going that extra mile. Is it ok for coop or did you not get a chance I want or would love to play a game like this with my son. Is it super adult themey or kid safe?

They did this to themselves its going to take time to rebuild. The fact that the xbox one was a disaster really hurt them. Then they closed studio after studio or mandated them to make things that didn't interest players. Look at the mismanagement of fable. Nobody wanted that ***** last game and they spent something like 70 million then never released it. If they would have let lionhead make the game they wanted it would still be an open studio and they would have had a great xbox one launch game. The kinect is the perfect example from start to finish when they started showcasing that I thought nobody wants that then they forced it down everyone's throat and it was just ***** and it made the one costs tons more than it should have.
Here is an idea make a good game and watch it roll in the cash I think indy being big will help fable being good will help and if they ever get someone to fix what the hell happened to halo that would help. Xbox has some good studios now I think a few need a little bit more of a strong hand and some guidance but not to the point of make this kind of game in this universe so we can chase a fad.
Also I have never seen an add for xbox on any site other than xbox or this one as other have pointed out.

@RIghteousNixon I agree with the playing it years from now and the best xp is probably always going to be the pc just due to the fact of mods for both games you mentioned.

@Fiendish-Beaver I would say at this point it is my third fav game all time behind morrowind and shadowrun for the sega genesis then this.
As far as bugs go it is what it is with a game like this I think it is hard to know what is going to happen you can do so many things so many ways things happen.
I own it on the pc also some crazy mods out there and I have the hard copy deluxe version coming for the xbox some day. The Larian merch site says quarter 1 I keep hoping for the email it has shipped.

Do you think they will ever allow mods on the xbox version?

I also would like to be able to buy more than one at a time or have a button go to all dlc or add all dlc for certain games like crusader kings or Stellaris are good examples

IDK man it just looked not good to me. It is weird how that works sometimes going in I had no interest in indy and avowed was what I really wanted to see and they switched places.

@Krzzystuff I think nintendo will always have a cartridge. One of the greatest things about them is going back and digging out that dragon quest 5 for the ds and being able to play and it just working and you can basically put any of their handhelds in the spot i listed ds they just continue to function. They have closed their various digital stores but the games work if you download them before the closure.

To everyone who said it is really lopsided about digital to disc I agree it is or was lets watch the next few months. Before we were kinda naive in it will alsways be there I think we now know that is not true.

Yes I think the fact that gamers more than anyone love their special editions is a big deal. I also think all the culling of games and movies from online stores when you thought you owned it forever is making a huge impact. I love digital I am lazy. But f Sony can elimanate huge swaths of stuff paid for whats keeping everybody from doing it. I have ordered the BG3 disc version and several other games lately.

Indy looked great the strategy game is great. The hellblade game I have no interest in. The Mana game could be good but the remake form the ps4 was terrible and you just never know with SQ these days. Finally Avowed looks not for me it just doesn't look good Which is sad I loved both pillars games and fallout and even shadow complex, But Avowed just looked kinda cheap. Hopefully I will play it and it will be good they def have street cred with me.

wow I had no interest in this game before now. and ya well I'm really going to like it I think. it reminded me a lot of the last crusade indy game on the nes that game was good

@NeoRatt I did not say it was not good I really like it its pretty fun. What I said is the microtransactions killed it for me. It is fun in the base game but the way the monetized was very nickel and dime stuff and that particular system soured me on the game overall.
I would have much preferred not having the stupid adventure passes I did not mind buying the new dungeons.
It is a fun game.
Minecraft when you buy like the starwars module that changes the game it doesn't also come with some pass that you have to also buy to get all the features. I personally am just tired of developers doing these things. if they had simply said pay ten dollars instead of 5 for the dungeon expansion I would be ok with that. they have to support the game and eat and make a good living its the method. Anyhow I think they should add more stuff to the whole universe.

@NeoRatt its not that it was a new idea for minecraft it is just a terrible game and to me at least was not any fun at all. When they talked about it before you could play to me it seemed they sold it being way different.
Minecraft dungeons is good but the microtransaction stuff kills it for me.

@Kaloudz i really liked origins and Odyssey for their more xpanded rpg stuff I wish this one was more in line with the Odyssey. I do not like the charater upgrade system but I will give it another chance and see if maybe i was just burnt out on ubi open worlds for a minute.

I wish they wouldn't do this to be honest I would much prefer hers indy and it out next month kind of showcase to in three years or 9 months from now.

@InterceptorAlpha its not hilarious its dumb i am a huge xbox guy but this is stupid. Their response is stupid the auto upload turned on auto like at the start is stupid its just dumb!

@Kevw2006 I have owned every xbox console from day one I have no idea how to turn this off and have always found it annoying that it auto uploads especially when the taking a pic is so easy to do by mistake

this is really dumb I have hit that button by mistake countless times. scary to think you could get banned for that.

@Fiendish-Beaver I was going to make all kinds of dumb remarks about you statement but honestly I am really happy you like it so much. For me that game was Morrowind it's the pinnacle of what Bethesda did best. I am actually downloading bg3 on my rog to play through it an I did by the disc version for Xbox. I have played it for about 20 hours just hasn't caught me yet

@Sakai this is every larian game since the new company formed out of the ashes of the old. Their strategy for DOS1 and 2 was about halfway into fixing stuff to abanden the original launch with some complete addition nonsense that they were working on and just never fix the original version they did this with both games.
To be fair they always gave the improved version to players for free on steam not on console though and if your games that you paid for is unplayable for the next six months While they work on the super duper version thats kinda well poor on them. When they did the early access for eaons thing I thought they maybe were trying to iron the process out better. Guess not! I am still waiting for the announcement We are working on the bear love super duper version so fixes on this version has stopped we shall see.

is there any games someone would suggest I love bethesda openworld games other than fallout 76 most of the assassin creed games I own and other than valhalla enjoyed most. Really liked odyssey and the enzio collection.
Rpgs, Strategy, and unfortunately madden are my main things i play. If its outside of that and a good game cheap I would be willing to try it.

I have never played a souls game like this other than the first one on 360. I found it terrible frustrating not becuase of it being hard although I am sure that had something to do with it. I just couldn't handle the confines of the map. Is this different i any way is the difficulty pretty brutal?
Also I have read snippets here and there it seems other players can invade your game is that to help or hinder you and can it be turned off? I do not care if its hard I understand someone relishing that stuff I am just wondering if its anything like the just cause/farcry/bethesda open world games?

ay the first few hours were a slog. Morrowind you had the prison ship, Obliv you had well Patrick, Fallout 3 was weird but interesting, Skyrim was cool, and Fallout 4 was good. Starfield really didn't live up to that collection of starts.

I like starfield a lot. There are some great stories in it and it is fun exploring for me.
I am not going to lie though I was disappointed by some things in the game that have nothing to do with the game content. The loading screens it is just a plain fact that the amount of them is crazy. I was shocked by this.
the other thing is their update pace is glacier lvls slow. I have no idea what they have in place and I have seen them say they are worried about making updates to fix one thing and breaking another, and I do know with these type of games that is certainly a concern but man get it in gear.
I am not advocating for working 24/7 or anything crazy but the updates need to come faster than 6 weeks that is so depressing to me.
Is it as good as I was hoping? No it is not I guess I was expecting morrowind type breakthroughs with the consoles and tech.
The one thing that is def true is the game gets hate from people at a lvl that is gotta be agenda driven. I havent played BG3 on ps5 lately but when it first came out it took a lot of loading to and had other issues but seemed to skate on those. BG3 is a good game though I ordered it on 2 consoles and pc
This guy looks bad whining like this and his statement that he doesn't criticize other devs is bs on extreme levels if some one makes a disaster of a game it deserves the complaints especially from someone in the biz that its hurting.

ok so I own tons of ubi open world games is it the same same? or different? I really liked far cry 5 and odyesey but vahalla and far cry 6 were tedious I cant say why. I want to play this and the wife really wants to play it. Is there any kind of coop? I have a dolby atmos system too so that is good news on that front.

I didn't think Activision added to much to the company I am not really interested in their games or previous games. Blizzard though I have really liked every diablo game on console minus 4 and I hope they turn that around.

Just to be clear I am not attacking xbox I love it and support it for the most part I agree with what they do and ya sometime you make hard decisions we don't like it but the idea that this cant be a major perk for some of their people is I think not accurate.

@redd214 ya black and white that makes sense. expand that a little bit though for someone fresh out of college I got some scholarships but in large i had to get student loans which you have to pay back thats crazy man . I got this job at microsoft and had to move to Washington my pay is entry lvl 50,000 a year which of course is not the actual case for I bet a majority of their workers in certain departments like food service or cleaning or taking care of the building I imagine it is a lot lower than that. but for this guy its 50k then you have to live in or around where you work which takes an apartment and probably a car and all the costs that comes with those things. it just happens that area is really costly to live in. hey drive further where rent is cheaper of course Washingtons average gallon of gas is third highest in the country. so things cost money and then you lose this benefit that potential has a lot more than .50 a day value to you. I understand what you guys are saying i do it is just not always clear cut as that. the problem with median and average pay is this median menas middle so at least half make less then that. Average is so abused when I was going to school the average psychologist made this well that is super skewed by people who make a ton of cash because they have been doing it for a long time. The more honest and reasonable thing to do is look at pay by years of service and what percentage of the workforce is in those categories. what might be small to you could really be huge to some one who is just getting buy.

@Zenszulu so in the world you live in and were on an xbox website you are saying that gamepass is not a major enough perk if you have comparable offer from another company that puts it over the top? Fine will you agree though that it could be for someone else? I think that the money I save with gamepass a year on just games I would have bought is significant. with hundreds of dollars now that games cost 69.99. so its not a 17.99 a month benefit for a group of people it could be worth hundreds of dollars which to me is significant.

@Zenszulu What? I think you might want to look that up. Getting something that is a perk after you start there and the company stopping it for whatever reason is not that bad because you didn't work there for that so I see your point on that side.
But unless you just want to work for microsoft lots of people weigh the perks their getting when they go to work there and the value they have to them add up and that all contributes to your final decision on where going to work especially if you might have a comparable offer from another company. Then if the company whos not losing money takes one of those away no matter how small you think that perk is personally. That perk your losing is part of what made you go there thats not being entitled that is having a bait and switch pulled on you.

This is the point I was making about the overlord not always doing whats best for the company as a whole in the devices argument. When you read that the guy in charge of xbox did not know this was coming yet paying for the perk probably comes out of his budget somewhere is kinda weird or for him should be unacceptable .Even if it doesn't come out of his budget seems like any major announcement that might affect the image of xbox the guy in charge should know about before it is made. The second thing I will say is that is a great perk to loose for some people for others they might not care at all.
When I worked for a big company not everyone got the same perks but we were allowed to pick the perks we got and as we were there longer we got more of the perks to be able to use at one time like how vacation and pay raises usally work at most companies based on years of service. They do get a discount in the internal store I don't know what that is I hope its good for them. All that being said losing something you had stinks and to think that around 5 million dollars was so much more important to Microsoft than their employees who have already had to survive rounds of roving layoffs that made no sense just that they thought a recession might be coming even know the biz that they run is largely actually never had a down turn even during the biggest dips like 2008. Does device sales slow down for them during those time sure but of course they supposedly loose money on all those devices anyway. But companies dont stop using the cloud and gamers don't cancel gamepass en masse or stop buying games. So the areas of biggest profit and growth for the company have not been affected. What this pretty much almost always boils down to is some exec figures out that if i get rid of this expense the way my crazy complex compensation schedule works I am going to get 5 more dollars or more company stock based on some performance metric. I like Phil and trust him I hope he figures out what the hell is going on and maybe he will agree with it which is fine but if he doesn't and it didn't come from someone over him I hope he flails the person that made this thing happen alive just for making him look stupid.

@Kezelpaso thanks for the response I like that it was surprised drop that's always fun. but Microsoft should have marketed it there are a lot of people who like those kinds of games and it can only benefit game pass.

They have done some baffling things that is for sure. I have been with them since the OG days man that system was a beast you remember how the splash screen would talk?

The 360 was a lot of fun I have some great memories with friends and games from that generation I had terrible luck with the red ring i am not inflating this I think I went through 8 or 9 of them. Now I always bought the extended warranty and they were always replaced and they sent me a forza game and that media remote as compensation for the hassle so in the end they took care of me. I know that some people really lost out before they admitted or realized and man upped and fixed it.
The Xbox one with The kinect was worthless and really hurt them with the stupid bundle the price point I know was very harmful I had no interest in it and was not liking that I had to get it when I would never use it. The other things that they did like the game sharing thing and being so focused on the media elements and not games was just silly. Don was an aloof jerk or just weird. It is funny though my one turned into and my series x is now my media center I dont even have cable everything i do is through the box with apps. So that part did happen just the way the embraced it over games was silly. Also all the games I buy are digital so I can not share them now anyways kinda funny how offensive that was to me and still is I should be able to do whatever I want with the disk. It just doesn't apply anymore.

I feel some off the problems stem from xbox being owned by microsoft. Sometimes the overlord has ideas about their biz and those things get forced on different parts of the company. whether there good for it or not. Another problem is who's in charge Bill was Bill he is a terrible person but he supported xbox then he left and other people thought gaming is stupid and they closed tons of studios. Then they left and now gaming is in and they have bought tons of studios which seems like wasted cash. I don't know to much about the playstation stuff but I do know they have done some stupid anti consumer stuff too like their focus on the games as service.
So I don't know all you can hope for is they learn their lessons I don't know what the series S has done to benefit them over hurting them I know its more afforadable. I understand from a consumer point of view the value in that but the S not getting all the X features without some really clear not legal speak statement about some things not being functional on it like the X but how do you prorate that going forward? I want xbox to be the very best it can be right now I feel like they are really going in the right direction. I think its okay to make mistakes or come out with bad ideas if they listen and fix it.
