Re: Everwild Screenshots Leak Online Several Months After Xbox Cancellation

Titntin

@RetroMan71 Why would he? This site won't survive if its just the few die hard xbox zealots left here. If you are a games player and you want to see what Xbox are up to, come here to pure. I dont think we need to push people away.
My series X is now uninstalled and I'm looking to find someone to give it away to right now. But I have no intent to leave this site, and I'm still interested in the news and supporting Frazer and Ben.
You could argue I've still got a PC. But a far better argument is that if 'everything is an Xbox', then everyone has business being on pure. More the merrier.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 11-12)

Titntin

Ghost of Yotei has me entranced and I don't expect I'll play anything else for a while.
Theres a new swiitch 2 in the house, but I'll leave it till my wifes birthday on 29th before we set that up. We are old now, but its still nice to get a suprise on the day!

Whatever you are playing, I hope you have a great weekend!

Re: AMD's Partnership On PS6 Will Benefit 'Every Gaming Platform', Says General Manager

Titntin

@Fiendish-Beaver
Usually about 4 or 5 feet (its a 48 inch LG C1).
Scaling that to the extra size of my main screen (65 inch), the ratios of how close to an image I am is roughly the same. You don't need to have brilliant eyes or sit close to a screen to see the trails on moving objects disappear as you increase frame rate.
There is a whole push in the PC space for fastest refresh rates on cards, on monitors and on GPU hardware to increase frame rates. This is happening because is provable fact that people notice it and its a better experience for gaming. Or does some random guy you have parroted from the internet have more sway for you than the entire tech industry and its research?

The push for resolution has moved to the adoption of newer AI upscalers, meaning that a GPU should only need to traditionally render to about 2K internally to output a fantastic quality output at the resolution required. This leaves the extra computational power that would have been spent trying to achieve 4K native to achieve steady and faster frame rates, rendering with RTAO, and I expect in the future some forms of path tracing in addition to excellent physics simulation, better AI and a million other things that I cant even imagine yet.
If you want to see what consoles may achieve in the very near future, take a look at those games which have been developed to use the hardware capabilities of the latest GPU's on PC. It's a shame that's very small proportion of titles, but that's because most PC players don't have that hardware. Once its base level of performance for a console, then all titles use it.
I know you're old, so am I, but the future of gaming tech is a lot more exciting than a random naysayer on the web tells you it will be and you should check you know your facts before spreading false statements imo!
Have a great day! 😊

Re: AMD's Partnership On PS6 Will Benefit 'Every Gaming Platform', Says General Manager

Titntin

@Tainted Sorry mate, its you who seem to read nothing except Xbox press releases. The whole gaming industry is speculating about the future of Xbox not just one person in this thread, and it's therefore not unusual to find people here who will speculate too.
Do you actually read any gaming news or follow any gaming channels? Your responses lead me to believe you don't.

...and for the record, I would very much like them to produce something and not just badge someone else's product.

Re: AMD's Partnership On PS6 Will Benefit 'Every Gaming Platform', Says General Manager

Titntin

@Fiendish-Beaver The statement that we cant see past 60 fps is an urban myth and is easily disproved. Do the UFO test on a PC @120hz or above and tell me you cant notice it. I won't believe you.
Quite apart from that, the resultant lack of lag playing at refresh rates above 60hz is also quite noticeable. Ask a competitive FPS player to play at just a 60hz refresh rate and they will look at you as if your mad. There's been plenty of tests I've seen showing how much quicker competition grade players react when they have much faster refresh rates.
I don't get to play many games above 60Hz, but Forza 4 and 5 @4K 120hz is transformative (I have a good PC). Last time I checked I was still human! 😁

Re: Xbox's Playground Games Grew Substantially In 2024 To Prepare For Fable & Forza Horizon 6

Titntin

Lovely to see some growth for the team here, they are a great studio.
I won't be sold on Fable till we've seen some proper gameplay. Nice though it looked I wasn't convinced from the trailers we've seen that they have captured the 'essence' of what made Fable so great to me when the original released - but obviously I'm hoping that they do as I loved those early games and their 'quirkiness'.
Hard to see how they can go wrong with FH6, though I will only play it once it's on PS5 pro now that my Series X is mothballed. I have 4 & 5 on steam as well, so if there's a delay for a PS5 version I might play on PC for a change!
I do hope they revisit the way they handle progress to make it more rewarding, but I'll be all over it even if they learn nothing from FH5. I do love a good carpg! 😊
MS should continue to nurture this studio - it gets results.

Re: Xbox Issues Statement Denying Rumour That Next-Gen Console Could Be Cancelled

Titntin

I hope this is true - the business is better off with Xbox hardware.
But when you lie to your fanbase so much, people are gonna start questioning if anything you say is truth.
Wasn't it just a week ago that Sarah Bond was telling us all how profitable Game Pass was? That was either an outright lie or the price rises are a huge price gouge. Either option kinda diminishes your trust in what these execs say anymore.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About Ubisoft+ Classics Being Added To Game Pass Ultimate?

Titntin

Its been a feature of ps plus extra for the last few years and that service is is less than half the cost. I doubt many players will be excited for this benefit, it just adds some raw numbers so the suits can have it on a slide in board meetings...
Ive always enjoyed the totally daft 'trials' games, but I bought them for £2 a title some time ago.
I hope someone finds some value, but its not much of a sweetener for the price increases.
I uninstalled my series X and removed it yesterday. It made me sad but it sure looks neater under the telly with just switch and ps.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

Titntin

@Markatron84 Lots of us saw it coming. I wrote on this very site saying so, but was routinely shouted down for doing so. The head of the FTC was routinely pilloried and accused of bias on this site, but was quite clearly correct to raise all the concerns that have now proven to be true.
'I was right' provides no satisfaction as I decommission my series x and mothball it.
Maybe there are those happy enough with what that purchase has done to xbox, but I suspect many more regret supporting that purchase now.
Thanks for posting the link.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

Titntin

@el_pieablo No mate, you should just be getting started! My wife is 52 and Im 61, but we both game passionately!
Of course its up to you mate, but I would never stop doing something I enjoy because of what anyone else thinks, I expect they will be breaking a controller out of my hand as they pack me in the box! Its ok to be an older gamer and there are plenty of us 😃

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

Titntin

@BattleMonkey Your quite right mate - $ £'s, they get easily confused, thanks for the correction.
I'm still not paying £276 a year either, but at least I'm quoting the correct figure! Still, that's only owning 4 full price titles instead of renting, rather than the 5 I originally stated, so its a decent difference.

If £276 every year to rent some titles is worth to you, go for it and I hope it brings you lots of value. I'd already dipped out of it at the previous price - its not for me, not a single game I'm interested in playing for months for me.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

Titntin

Unplugging the series x and mothballing it. For me, without game pass, its a dead machine and I would never pay £276 a year to rent a few titles - thats 4 full price games I could own for ever vs renting. I play a lot but I dont buy much more than 4 full price a year. What a shame.
I tend to play on ps5 anyway (my wife wont touch xbox controllers) and we have 2 pros, so the xbox was rarely used except for good game pass months. Its easier for me to kill it than many others because of this. Im geninely sorry for those that bought into the xbox ecosystem in a big way, you deserved better treatment imo.

Edit: adjusted as I quoted wrong prices...

Re: Poll: What Are Your Plans For Xbox Game Pass After This Week's News?

Titntin

I didnt renew 4 months ago, and this news means I never will.
Thinking about removing my Series X from in front of the TV as without GP its a waste of space - its literally just a dust trap .
Its sad that its come to this, but I don't trust MS one little bit and I won't buy into their ecosystem any more.
To all those sticking with MS, I really hope they won't shaft you any further, the core Xbox players deserved so much more.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Is Getting A Major Overhaul With New Names, Games & Price Changes

Titntin

What a shame. Game Pass used to be the very definition of a good value service.
I've been concerned by the ever smaller number of releases, meaning there was less likely to be something I really wanted for some time, and its previous price was %50 more than PS plus premium, meaning you had to want the games a lot and not be someone who buys new titles to get the most benefit.
I haven't subbed for the last 4 months as there were no titles that made it worth for me, but it now looks like I wont sub at all so my Series X remains purely as a machine to play the odd title I bought on Xbox (like Forza 4). There hardly seems to be a reason for me to have an Xbox at all any more... and I find that very sad for a brand I've been with since its first launch.

Re: Three Games Announced For Game Pass At Xbox TGS 2025 Showcase

Titntin

Winter Burrow looks sweet and though I thought the reveal was dreadful, FH6 is well worth a wait.
Counting a free to play game as a gamepass game is pretty stupid and devalues the offering which has failed to be as impressive in the back end of the year as it was in the beggining.

I stopped my sub 4 months back and theres been precious little to attract me back since. Up till Summer 24 I had been a continuous GPU subscriber, but there are far less offerings now than there ever were, which means theres often little I want. I guess Im saving money, but it does dissappoint me, and makes me question why Im holding on to the series x at all.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2025 Event?

Titntin

What went wrong? Xbox shows have been good for some time now, but this was an E from me. FH6 reveal was such an anti climax telling us nothing.
It didnt even do a good job in building excitement for the rog handhelds?
The show should have run half that time and it would still have dragged.
Im glad for anyone who found titles to be excited for or was entertained, but I suspect they will be in the minority on this one. Oh well, we still have lots of good games to play.

Re: Major Retailer Seemingly Clearing Out Xbox Series Stock In Certain Regions Right Now

Titntin

Why give shelf space to products that arent selling? It doesnt help that Microsoft have destroyed the brand and are going all in on windows, but if these units sold and made outlets a decent profit, shelves would not be being cleared.
Its a trully sad demise and every single person who bayed for them to buy ABK brought this about.
I hope their PCbox does well though. Their software buisness will be fine.

Re: Roundup: All The Xbox Reveals From September 2025's State Of Play

Titntin

I loved the show, but then I mainly play on ps5 and I prefer to enjoy shows of games rather than not.
Saros looks fantastic. I still rate Returnal as the best new IP this gen by far, so I guess that a sequal was always going to appeal, and they brought Wolverine to life with the character of the original comics rather than the awful films, so that looks as violent and interesting as I could have hoped.
Crimson Dawn has always appealed, but I feared it might not deliver, but it looks like it may deliver all I wanted after all.
Getting Alan Wake 2 on ps plus is real boon... I hadnt bought it yet.
Micosoft flight sim will sell bucket loads Im sure, but having tried it on my series x, I know its not for me.
Nioh 3 looks good, but as I really struggled with the first 2 I think I need to walk by.
Last Epoch is looking good and gone immediately on the wish list.
Delighted for another Gran Turismo free update.
Battlefield 6 campaign stuff looked good enough I want to try it.

Several other little bits that I enjoyed too, but I cant remember all of them. Happy that Im excited for so much from the show, worked for me.

Re: Earthion Has Finally Arrived On Xbox, And It's One Of The Best-Rated Games Of 2025

Titntin

@Kaloudz I get that, if you are younger and didnt grow up with them, they must seem a strange genre.
45 years ago I was in Soho London playing the original schumups and pumping coins into the arcades, which is where you needed to be if you were a video game fan and needed a fix. For those of us who lived these times (and many who have discovered them since), schumups never die, its a simple concept you can still enjoy all this time later.

Re: Microsoft Announces New Price Increases For Xbox Series X|S In The US

Titntin

They are not selling anyway, so MS are not prepared to take any loss.It doesnt make sense to do so when youve already acknowledged you've lost that fight.
They will continue to make good games and make a good buisness from this. I genuinely dont think they have a future for 'xbox', and want pure focus on windows gaming.
Im dissappointed as its xbox I like, not Microsoft.

Re: Here's Some Direct Gameplay From Double Fine's New Xbox Exclusive Keeper

Titntin

Love the weirdness and its an interesting look.
But simply walking through a landscape is not 'gameplay' to me. There was a simple puzzle at the end of the sequence, but hardly anything to get excited for? Id like to know a bit more about what I'll be doing in this game other than walking about triggering pre animated sequances..
Im pretty sure the game will deliver, but you wouldn't guess it from this clip.
