Re: Multiple Final Fantasy Games Confirmed For Xbox, Including A Shadow Drop Today

The_Pixel_King

Guys, I hope my Xbox friends enjoy FF16. I played it straight after Tears of the Kingdom and didn’t really fancy it. I only tried it because my wife bought it for my birthday. Two hours later, I was hooked. And nearly 80 hours later, it was (and still is) my favourite game of all time! The story is great, the music and visuals are fantastic and the Eikon boss fights are the best in all of gaming. Don’t sleep on this one, folks!

I just read @PJOreilly’s excellent 9/10 review and thought to myself, I bet Push Square have given it a 7. Nope, a 6. A SIX! I know reviews are entirely subjective, but do PS purposely knock everything down by a point or two?

Anyway, I always love to see PJ’s reviews both here and over on Nintendo Life. They almost always end up aligning with my own opinions. Great review, as always, buddy.

Like so many of us, my gaming time has been completely taken over by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. I’ve put at least 25hrs in this past week and I hope to find the time for a few hours more over the course of the weekend.

Although I haven’t played anything but Zelda since last Friday, I’m hoping to find the time to fire up the Series X and play some more of my favourite palate cleanser, PowerWash Simulator. Maybe some Forza Horizon 5, too. Maybe. But with the Depths to contend with, I’m not banking on it!

Re: Deals: Xbox 'Next-Gen' Sale Now Live, 300+ Games Discounted This Week (May 9-16)

The_Pixel_King

I’m new to Xbox and have a Series X. Other than a couple hours with Infinite, I’ve never played a Halo game. With that in mind, would anyone recommend the Halo: Master Chief Collection for me to try? I heard it launched with issues and I’m also worried it might feel dated. Thoughts?

Also, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is down to £6.24. Would you guys recommend the game?

Thanks in advance, folks. I’d really appreciate your opinions! 😊

I recently made a really big decision. I’ve unsubscribed from Game Pass and bought the games I really wanted.

I picked up Forza Horizon 5 Premium Edition and Ori and the Will of the Wisps on sale along with the ridiculously addictive PowerWash Simulator while I was still able to take advantage of the Game Pass discount. So those are what I’ll be playing this weekend. Especially the Rally Adventure expansion for FH5, which is an absolute blast.

Oh and I also plan on picking up the utterly fabulous Hi-Fi Rush as soon as I’m able.

I’ve returned to Dead Cells in preparation for the Castlevania DLC, which launches on Monday. For some reason I keep switching between the Xbox, PlayStation and Switch versions. I just love the game. Other than that, I’ll definitely be checking out Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty on Series X. Wish me luck! 😬

Re: When Is Ghostwire: Tokyo Coming To Xbox Game Pass?

The_Pixel_King

@Titntin Yeah, I’m both sides, too. PS5 and Series X. Switch as well, actually. So I’m always either here or on Push Square or Nintendo Life. I love my Series X and Game Pass is obviously incredible. But if a GP game really connects with me and it’s also available on PlayStation, I’ll still buy a physical copy to play on PS5. Mainly for the same reasons as you. I just love the combination of DualSense controller and Pulse 3D headphones.

Re: When Is Ghostwire: Tokyo Coming To Xbox Game Pass?

@Titntin Just bumped into this article and browsing the comments has left me dumbfounded. People questioning you because you have the barefaced liberty to want to spend your own money on a game that’ll be 'free' in a years time, having a go because you prefer the DualSense, stating that they won’t dismiss what they insinuate to be sidesteps and lies…?? Just wow.

Sometimes I really can’t stand website comments sections.

Re: Microsoft Announces 40+ Games Being Removed From The Xbox 360 Marketplace

The_Pixel_King

I wanted to buy the 360 version of The Orange Box for my Series X a few weeks ago, but it wouldn’t let me complete the purchase on the store. Maybe because I already own Portal 2 perhaps? And now I learn they are removing it permanently ☹️ Is it a game that I might be able to find physically instead I wonder? I’ve never played Half-Life 2 and I really want to.

Re: Hi-Fi RUSH Feels Like A Rhythm Game Version Of God Hand, And We're Absolutely Loving It

The_Pixel_King

@themightyant Thanks for such a detailed reply, buddy. I used to have a really good pair of Bose headphones that cost me over £300 getting on for 5-6 years ago, but I lost them during… a difficult stage in my life.

Yep, you’re right about it being a mind field. I think I’ll just work out a budget and take a look next time we go shopping. Yes, I do wear glasses, so that’s indeed another factor to consider. I do like noise cancelling cans, so I’ll see what I can afford.

Thanks again, my friend. You’re a legend.

On Series X, I’m having a great time with both Psychonauts 2 and PowerWash Simulator.

Over on PS5, meanwhile, I’m also playing The Last of Us Part I and kinda wishing there was a mod to change Joel’s face to Pedro Pascal (just kidding). I’m just over 15hrs in, so I can’t have too far to go now.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (January 16-20)

The_Pixel_King

Does Monster Hunter: Rise suit a single-player experience? I’ve always been interested in the series, but I don’t have friends to play with and have never even played an online co-op game before. That probably sounds weird – especially coming from a 50yr old whose been playing videogames since the 80’s!

If Rise isn’t for me, I’ve still got Persona 4 Golden to look forward to. I played the first 10hrs or so on PS Vita, but sold the handheld before I got any further. So I’ve been looking forward to an HD version to hit consoles for years.

On Series X, I’ve finally started Psychonauts 2 and what a gorgeous, clever and fun game it is! Having an absolute blast with this one.

In between longer sessions I’m also desperately addicted to both Vampire Survivors and the surprisingly excellent PowerWash Simulator – which I didn’t realise was developed by FuturLab, the talented folks behind Velocity 2X.

Whatever you’re playing, have a great weekend everyone!

Re: Talking Point: What Xbox Games Are You Playing Over The Holiday Period?

The_Pixel_King

I’ll be trying – and no doubt failing – to tear myself away from the fabulous Vampire Survivors this weekend. It’s so good, in fact, that it’s probably my favourite indie game of 2022. Considering we’ve also had the likes of Tunic and Return to Monkey Island this year, that’s really some achievement. Over on PS5, meanwhile, it’ll be more God of War Ragnarok, which is definitely my overall Game of the Year.

Whatever you’re playing this weekend, have a wonderful Christmas!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 17-18)

I’ll definitely be checking out the Series X|S versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this weekend. Other than that, I’m in the back half of God of War Ragnarok on PS5 and having an absolute blast! Oh and I’ll also give High on Life a try. Hopefully I’ll find it as funny as it’s meant to be. Either way, what a great time to be a gamer!
