CEX have also raised their prices of series X. £400 boxed. But they give you 5 year warranty without charging for an "Extended Hardware Service" that Microsoft will.

It doesn't matter either way.
What matters is that it has an engaging story and is fun/entertaining to play.

And whatever it is, I won't be paying full price for it.
Never have since it launched on an uninterrupted subscription.

Now, no I wouldn't. And have never paid full, or above full price, as it is now, for any tech.

Traded in PS4 and assorted paraphernalia for me PS5 with money left over, bought a series X from CEX.

Gaming is now not for the masses.

Unless it's the "put it on the credit card or Klarna" sort of masses.

Very pleased with meself that I got a series X for £350 from CEX about this time last year, with 5 year warranty.

Have both PS5 and Series X.
Gamepass Ultimate is so much better than PS plus premium.
Have both top tier subs.
Also, my young'un gets to play on the PC, with an even wider selection of games on PC gamepass.

Used to pay £7.22 a month for years but recently it's gone to £10 a month. Excellent value.

Never looked at it at launch as it released in a poor state.
And I love all the Soulsbornes, and Lies of P was good too.
Just started it on Series X, beat first boss, yep, I'll stick with it👍🏼

I was one of the doubters who thought Shadows would be a husk of Ghost of Tsushima, a fantastic game.
But I have been pleasantly surprised. Shadows is a great game, that plays and looks fantastic and has an engrossing story to tell.
Once all the execs at both Ubi and Tencent have quaffed down the champers I really hope they innovate.
Stop being so 'Ubisoft'.
Shadows does enough to be refreshing a change that even though it's Ubi it isn't same old 'Ubi'.

It was the UK release date of the 360 Elite.
First game was Bioshock.
I remember the Mrs being amazed at the fire on water graphics at the start.

Just ordered from CEX, with a voucher I had it cost me £11.

Yeah, I'll give it a go once I've finished shooting nazi balls.

3 months of Ultimate is £22.
Have paid that or very similar for a long time.
Wouldn't even consider downgrading to a lesser service.

This absolutely got pushed back because the very existence of Ghost of Yotei.
That game looked knockout just from the trailer alone.
Ubisoft claimed it was "feature ready" yet it's had at least 2 delays.
Suckerpunch will deliver a fantastic samurai game (again) and Ubi will deliver, well, Ubi meh, with samurais.

As a few others have stated, I'll play the games I want to play, but won't chase points just because.
It's the same with PlayStation Stars.

Finished Indy last night, great game, great story.
Will have a look at Persona 3 later this evening.

That if I only had a Series S/X and only use gamepass and didn't buy games, it's been a tad poor for sure.
Having a PS5 and a series X with PS Premium and Ultimate then I have had a greater pool of games.
Getting Ultimate for £22 every 3 months and Premium for 20ish percent off for the year has definitely softened the blow cost wise.
I have still bought games outright on both systems, played them at a leisurely pace and then sold them on for about a tenner less than I payed for them.

So for me personally, it hasn't been the best, no, on EITHER console for their top tier subscription.

Really hope that after these next few planned patches it leaps ahead in graphic rendering and non stuttering in videos and even play.
I have 300Mb/s t'internet so that isn't the problem, can stream multiple 4k streams.
Such a step down in quality from FS 2020.
Such shortsightedness from the developer that streamed content was a viable solution to a constantly shifting map.

The towns/cities look very low quality most of the time.
If in the new year, it still looks and plays like crap, I'll just delete it.

Thought I'd boot it up for the craic.
At 97%, with "loading unusually long..." next to that. The intro loops several times with chill music. Won't progress.

I see it more like the flight of Franz Reichelt from the Eiffel Tower.. No problems for the first couple of seconds, then crash.

Not that I know anything about anything, but they would be be better off sending out a large patch which would enable the Xbox to locally to do the rendering.
Much larger installed file size yes, but it would WORK.

I tried to load it up late last night, didn't work obviously, within 2 minutes I was back to enjoying Veilguard.

A steal at £17.50 on the Series.

Oh, and it wasn't that many hours in that I managed to unlock the motorbike things, made zipping around all the more fun.

They are good for a couple of hours.

Within a week I absolutely believe that Xbox division will release a statement around the lines of "value for money for gamers" a dig at mid gen 'upgrades' that will be carefully worded that will exclude their late 2024 model as that is purely a larger SSD.
They will promote gamepass that will include mention and justification of recent price increases, that Xbox is still very much a viable choice for gamers. And I would agree on that.

I own both Series X and PS5 . I love both. For the GAMES. Not brand loyalty.

I go where accessibility to games, and choice of, and yes, price, dictate which platform gets a certain game bought for from me.

Gamepass, in my opinion is excellent value for money.

PS is great for Spiderman, Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War etc.

But THAT price for the Pro is a massive p take.

Why?

At least 1 or 2 above already mentioned, CDKeys sells discounted codes.
Been using them from for many years for both PS and Xbox subscriptions.
Between 20 and 35% discounts. Always has been.
NEVER paid full price.

I'm into about my 2nd or 3rd week of being a series X owner. Starfield for me, only just got to Earths moon, very early into it.
Got to about 3rd chapter of Hellblade 2 and deleted it, didn't care for the puzzle aspect unfortunately.
Oh, and me little one has played a bit of Bluey👍🏼
