Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 19-20)

Starfield, it's always Starfield.

I keep trying to outcompete a Starfield playsession with other games, but everything falls short in comparison to running UC Vanguard endgame missions in the beautiful small-galaxy sim Bethesda made.

Started Cyberpunk 2077 this week and it seems pretty special. I'm taking it nice and slow and still haven't the foggiest idea of what I'm doing but Night City has endeared itself to me already.

Hello there fellow gamers.
This weekend I´ll probably do the following.

• Continue playing AC Shadows on my Series X. Just enjoying exploring Feudal Japan and sneaking into castles and looting all the goodies;
• Continue playing Metroid Dread on my Switch. And since I´m at the end game, I´ll just go and find all the last missiles and energy tanks missing. Absolutely love this game;
• Last but not least, continue playing Black Myth Wukong on my PS5. Not only it´s a beautiful game, but also a very fun and challenging one.
  And some Strret Fighter 6 online, because why not 😜

@AgentCooper Hello there friend. Cyberpunk 2077 is such a good game. It´s definitly one of those games that, the more you play, the more interesting and fun it becomes.
And there´s so much to do and explore in this game, that I don´t even use fast travel. I just drive around, because CD Projeck Red made a very imersise location with Night City.

I wanted to like CP77 more than I did:

• too much babbling in the story
• world is over-the-top perverse, unrealistic

that's just me, I'm a Starfield more beautiful world guy

Finished South of Midnight. Its an excellent story with some really dark themes and some outstanding music that really resonates with the story beats. Sadly the game play & combat gets really repetitive really quickly which makes enjoying the story a chore at times.

Basically the same issues I had with both Hellblades you try to tolerate lackluster game play to enjoy the story.

Will be dipping into Baldur's Gate 3, Crime Scene Cleaner & Minecraft over the weekend.

This weekend I will mainly continue chipping away at The First Berserker: Khazan, one boss at a time and man...I love this game.
Levels themselves are not the most special but the real meat of the game is the Sekiro and Lies of P-inspired deflect heavy combat system and the boss fights which, so far, have all been very challenging and very fun to slowly learn the patterns for.

In addition to that, I also plan to continue playing Balatro during downtime and maybe I can also start Promise Mascot Agency.

It´s interesting that I am the completely oposite in regard of those two games.
I wanted to like Starfield, since I´m a sci-fi and space fan, but unfortunately the game itself, the way the npcs look and feel are very unrealistic and not natural to me at all. The gameplay it´s not bad and the ship building is great, but after 30 hours I just kinda fell off.
And that´s fine. Not all games will mean the same to everyone, but it will always be great when we find a game that does appeal to us in every single way possible that just makes want to play and enjoy it more and more. That´s the beautiful thing about this Universe that I love and enjoy so much.

Looking for something new. I'm 52hrs into Avowed and need a break. I wish it was the 24th so I could play Clair Obscure: Expedition 33. At least it's only a few more days away.

Finished Assassin's Creed Shadows, got all the Achievements.
Tried South of Midnight on a whim and really liked it. The soundtrack is great.
Haven't had much time to play it but I liked it so far.

I’m about halfway through South of Midnight, while the combat could be better, I’m adoring the world and story. I’ll keep continuing on with that journey.
I’ve also been playing Minecraft a good amount. I couldn’t stand it for the longest time, I saw why people loved it, but it wasn’t for me. Unfortunately, my son fell in love with it and constantly asked me to play, but I’d only play every now and then. I went to play South of Midnight the other day and it had a huge update so I had to wait, I decided to give Minecraft one last try on Survival and I loved it. It finally clicked and I saw why everyone enjoyed it so much.

After finishing Outriders last weekend, working through the backlog to finish Blood Dragon, and some Skull and Bones, as it's on a free play day dont have to put the disc in

AC Shadows - I had a lot of gaming time this past week, so focusing on the main story I managed to both finish and platinum the game. Loved it, its my favorite AC since Black Flag. Dont really feel finished with the game though, even if its massive and I've played so many hours I just enjoy the world and the gameplay so much I might have to do some more side missions and castles. Brilliant game imo 🙂

Next up is South of Midnight and some smaller games on VR perhaps 🙂

Elden Ring, Baldurs Gate 3, Overwatch 2, Valheim, and watching how phisics breaks in Skyrim with 120 fps mode enabled

I'll be on saints row while I'm playing bought it on sale with reward points it's an enjoyable game once you're expectations aren't to high for it stupid crazy fun ha why not??

Pretty much just xenoblade chronicles x still. I did buy RetroMania Wrestling in the sale so I'll play a little of that too.

@TheGiraffe, I'm also one of those people who just isn't vibing with CDPR games. Cyberpunk bored me to death, and I didn't connect with any of the characters. Not to mention the voice actor for Male V got on my nerves with his monotone, dry delivery. Starfield was so fun, and I loved exploring the galaxy!

Pretty much the same it’s been for a few weeks now - AC Shadows and South of Midnight. I’m on chapter 11 on SoM so only a few chapters left, though have to admit that combat is feeling like a bit of a chore now. Hopefully I will still finish the game. I also bought Entropy survivors in the Xbox spring sale so will give that a go.

Some extra gaming days this weekend, so I played tape 2 of Lost Records. Not as good as tape 1, I thought - not as interactive - but I still enjoyed it and hope they make more.

Now back to KCD2.

I have been dipping in and out of games this week … loving South of Midnight, Blue Prince and Tempopo. Did not really like Crime Scene cleaner for some reason … have a fun weekend y’all

You know, there's more to playing games than Game Pass! You'd think every Xbox owner had a Game Pass subscription. That's far from the case, and it allows you to actually play games you bought to support the developer.

For me, it's Nobody Wants to Die, The Ants and Big Mutha Truckers 2 (on PS2!)

@Gmork I'm not saying everyone has Game Pass. But you do realize that those company's get paid to put their games on Game Pass.

Droplitz Delight (Windows Phone) - I'm just focused on this until I clear it. Then I can delete and move onto the next game on the Windows Phone death crawl...

Crime Scene Cleaner and it's absolutely amazing. Such and OCD game.

Finished atomfall 100%, finished few bits on back 4 blood. Loaded robocop and battlefront 2 (which I played when released on ps and fancied some Star Wars) will be my games for Easter week. Enjoy long weekend everyone. Did boot up starfield AGAIN. Just really struggling as feel it’s just in and out menus and screens. 100% think it might be a big dlc next with a PS port

@RiverGenie if South of Midnight doesn’t win an award for best music then people have piss poor taste or something truly special came along!

I'm putting a fair bit of time into Indy and South of Midnight. Both great games.

Can anyone who's played Blue Prince for a while tell me if it really is a game you need to keep loads of notes in? I don't think I have the headspace to get to grips with something that involved right now.

I'm working through South of Midnight at the moment but thinking on what game will come next.

I finished South of Midnight yesterday. It was decent but not spectacular. Gameplay and level structure was pretty basic stuff. It reminded me of Kena Bridge of Spirits, except worse in every way. Great art design, nice soundtrack, and good voice acting kept me invested. The ending felt a bit rushed though, not really sure what that was about as it stuck out a bit compared to the pacing of the rest of the story. My favourite character was the catfish and he only gets one single line of dialogue in the post credit scene - shame! Overall I say 7/10.

@RaZieLDaNtE That's correct friend, it feels like there is many layers to reveal even so early on. The whole experience feels very next gen and alive. I'm pretty excited about it 👍 take care mate.
