Re: Random: We Played Far Cry 3 Online This Week, Four Months After Ubisoft 'Closed' The Servers

GlasgowGuy

Loved Far Cry 3 co-op and bought the XB1 Remaster without realising it was cut from it - gutted
The 360 version on Series X is supposed to be even better than the remaster as it now runs in 4k at 60fps
Surprised that the co-op mode never resurfaced in subsequent iterations of the game
Always a fight for who gets to play as Callum in the RFC top
I think the PS3 version had an extra DLC level for co-op, which I don't think ever came to the 360 version

Re: Microsoft Rewards: How To Claim 2000 Bonus Points On Xbox In December

GlasgowGuy

Don't know what is up with Rewards for me as its not tracking any achievements I have unlocked - was on a 47 week streak with the weekly set and could not unlock it as my achievements were not recognised; dailies are not tracking, and the specials or monthlies are not picking up the achievements either

Rewards Support asked me to upload a video of the problem, but how do you do that when something is not happening??

Getting points for everything else, so it doesn't look like I have maxxed out the annual allowance
Deleted the app & tried on different consoles & same results
Very frustrating as so many points going to waste !!

Re: Xbox Series X Update Makes Great Change To Game Installs

GlasgowGuy

@d0x3601 - thanks for reading - to clarify, the problem is with downloading some 360 games onto my xbox 360 consoles, they will get to 99% downloaded & then reset to 0% and this keeps going in an endless loop - this is not an XBox One issue - a school of though is it is related to ISP and your dns ipv4 servers and it happens on multiple 360 consoles and games that are backwards compatible on XB1 seem to be the majority of the titles that no longer download to my 360s

The separate issue I have on XB1 is that apparently my & everyone else's digital license for FIFA 15 has been revoked.
It no longer appears in my purchase history & I therefore cannot install it on my XB1's, and where I did have it previously installed it no longer works, despite it being my home console and online or offline makes no difference; the only thing I can see is that there is no acquisition date when you look at the properties tab in my games & apps. My though is that something has gone wrong with the delisting process and having gamepass ultimate, where it was available as a EAPlay title

Re: Xbox Series X Update Makes Great Change To Game Installs

GlasgowGuy

I've been all digital since the early days of XB1 & have expanded that to 360 titles

HOWEVER I am very concerned by recently noticing that my XB1 download version of FIFA15 no longer works on my "home" console or even shows up on my purchase history on other machines

Support informed me that the game has been "delisted & removed" and was told ALL XBOX DIGITAL LICENSES HAVE BEEN REVOKED ie it is impossible to play a downloaded version of the game & it will not work offline - I suspect that something has gone wrong with the delisting process with having gamepass ultimate & owning the game

Also very irritated by the fact that many 360 games will not now download to my 360s - gets to 99% then keeps looping back to 0%

Re: Xbox Makes FIFA 23 Playable By Mistake, A Whole Month Too Early

GlasgowGuy

My digital version of FIFA 15 no longer works - think when delisting it they have messed up the DRM/entitlements to it
Got it installed on my Series X & it wont start as it says I don't have the rights to it & it doesn't show up in my purchased games history, despite having the purchase confirmation email from 19/9/14 and working previously

Would be keen to see if it is just me or if others are affected to

Re: Xbox Engineer Explains Why Smart Delivery Forces Series X|S Version

GlasgowGuy

Sometimes I'm not too bothered about having the best version on my Series X; when I only play a game maybe one of twice a month with my mates online - World of Tanks/Warships/Modern Warfare, I'm happy to play with XB1X version off an external HDD rather than have a couple of hundred GB taken up with them on my internal drive. Each of these games is pretty big & with MW being 238gb takes well over an hour to copy from HDD to SSD
Plus surely some games do not need to be run from SSD eg Pinkman, Two Kingdoms. Also there is no consistency with the 10mb unlock keys for DLC - some must be installed on the SSD whereas some will happily work off an external HDD with the base game on the SDD
At least give us the option to install which version we want to play, especially if you regularly swap external drives between XB1X & Series X

Re: How To Buy 'Delisted' Backwards Compatible Games On Xbox

GlasgowGuy

@joey302
Think I bought FEAR3 when it reappeared a few weeks ago off the old marketplace on my pc as it was slightly cheaper there than on Xbox.com; it showed up in my purchase history on 360 & re downloaded it from there
Doing a search on the 360 games tile section also tends to show up games & if you can install them
The old marketplace on the 360 has seemed very shaky for the last few years with some stuff I have bought asking me to rebuy it, especially OG Xbox games - Black, Crimson Skies, Gauntlet etc

Re: How To Buy 'Delisted' Backwards Compatible Games On Xbox

GlasgowGuy

Without opening a can of worms here - can anyone actually download these games to their 360 - I bought a few in the sales over the last few weeks & there are some that just will not download to my 360 - gets to 100% then goes back to 0% & continues to do this in an endless loop; switching the 360 off & allowing background downloads just gives a corrupted file, eg:
Munch's Oddysee
SW Ep.3
Max Payne 2
Spongebob Truth Squared
Manhunt
Red Dead Revolver

Tried on 2 different 360s with same results
FEAR 3, First Templar & Thrillville OTR installed fine

Re: How To Buy 'Delisted' Backwards Compatible Games On Xbox

GlasgowGuy

As far as i am aware Ridge Racer 6 and Spongebob Underpants Slam are the only games that require the region on your console to match the storefront you bought them from in order to play them; usually once the game is on your XB1 it will play regardless of console region setting
The irony here is that the disc version of RR6 is region free and XBLA games should be region free ie Spongbob; the fact you can only acquire them from american stores may be an unusual factor in this case

Re: Talking Point: What Have You Bought In The Xbox Backwards Compatibility Sale?

GlasgowGuy

Has anyone tried to install their purchases on a 360?

I can't get Max Payne 2, Red Dead Redemption, SW Ep.3, Munches' Odyssey, Manhunt & Spongebob Truth Squared to install
Download gets to 99% then resets to 0% and continues to download in a endless loop - only Thrillville & First Templar have installed on 360

Also got Max Payne (1) but it is seemingly no longer compatible with 360 despite showing in 360's purchased games, trying to re-download throws up a XBox Live error (non-360 compatible games such as Otogi don't show in your 360 purchased games history)

Seems like this is an ongoing issue for years but it's annoying when it happens to you
Also bought FEAR 3 yesterday as it has reappeared in the marketplace this weekend (and is a few pence cheaper than on the XBox storefront) - it installed without any problem

Re: Reaction: Looking Back At An Excellent First Year For The Xbox Series X|S

GlasgowGuy

Love my Series X - been a Xbox fanboy since day one, but mine is now gathering dust
In April Microsoft closed my account of 17 years for a "serious violation" - don't know what I have done & they won't say.
Lost access to tens of thousands of hours of games saves & >2500 games + dlc - been buying digitally since launch of 360.
Probably the worst year in my life, not joking & have been seriously down about this and lost any enthusiasm about the XBox
Not selling it though !!

Re: Five Need For Speed Games Have Been Removed From The Xbox Store

GlasgowGuy

@Carck I bought these games many years ago, but 2 months ago MS decided that I had broken their T+C's and compliance locked my account after 17 years - I still don't know why and they wont say why. I had >2500 games & would have rebought these titles again, but trying to rebuild a £50k collection overnight is just not viable
The 2 SHIFT games are classics and the others are not bad but dated

Re: Xbox Dev Responds To Report That DRM Is A 'Serious Problem' On Xbox Series X

GlasgowGuy

Thanks JGL - I had already looked through that forum thread & it's one of the many that has me seriously concerned
Seems to me when things are going well MS are great but any issues and you are thrown under the bus

In my case it is probably due to buying games from foreign markets, although it seems very rare to be banned for this. Annoyingly all 360 games (>1000) have been bought in the UK and these are the ones I am probably most concerned about as so many are now delisted, although losing the delisted XB1 stuff hurts too - all the Forza Horizons, Marvel Ult.Alliance 1+2, Deadpool, Rock Band content
Losing 15 years of game saves hurts too as all cloud based. As I am a glass half full person, I am looking at this as a chance to replay some old games again....

Re: Xbox Dev Responds To Report That DRM Is A 'Serious Problem' On Xbox Series X

GlasgowGuy

I have been a big supported of digital Xbox titles & amassed a library of >2500 games since the 360 launch
At the start of April this year access to my MS account was disabled out of the blue and I have now lost access to my library & games saves
I have been "compliance locked" for apparently breaking T+C's
If you Google "Microsoft compliance locked" it may make you reconsider the advantages of a digital library
I have offline access to my games on my Series X home console, but if it breaks or I want to replace it I am screwed - £50,000 of games lost; same for 360, titles are locked to my main 360
The chances of getting a compliance locked account back are remote at best & it affects EVERYTHING - emails, Skype, Teams, PC, XBox
Despite this I still love my XBox consoles....

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Looks Set To Have A Sizeable Day One Patch

GlasgowGuy

it's just me that uses the consoles - my girlfriend has no interest in gaming and consoles are new - main console is a Series X

It is hopeless trying to speak or have an online chat with support, as they have limited information & cannot contact the compliance team themselves
It beggars belief they can accuse you of something, not tell you what it is, pass judgement and then not enter into any further communication as the decision is final
I really have lost any enthusiasm for gaming at the moment

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Looks Set To Have A Sizeable Day One Patch

GlasgowGuy

Thanks for the info but I very rarely go online & if I do it is with friends I know outside of gaming - I had sought clarification on the refund policy for digital games as I had a request knocked back and as I rarely request a refund, as good or bad I do usually keep the games, it seemed strange
But to call that a serious violation of their terms and disable my account seems excessively heavy handed

Re: Mass Effect Legendary Edition Looks Set To Have A Sizeable Day One Patch

GlasgowGuy

Have been all digital since XB1 & rebought loads of 360 games on digital after starting on XB1
Last month Microsoft out of the blue disabled access to my email account for a "serious violation" & as a result I have lost >2500 games as well as DLC that is probably in the region of £50K and tens of thousands of hours worth of game saves
Utterly devastated and distraught - gaming for over 40 years & XBox nearly 20 - and I have no right to find out what has happened or appeal their decision - it is final; probably the worst month of my life...
I don't know if my email was hacked or if I have done something (I did buy from different regions but this is pretty commonplace)

Re: PSA: Some 'Optimised' Xbox Series X Games Work From External Drives

GlasgowGuy

AS I noted above one of my concerns is the stealth use of storage as RSR2 grabs 18gb for reserved space for nothing over and above the installed space; same for GTA V

Admittedly most are small eg 50mb but some can casually just grab 1gb & RDR2 & GTA are the worst I have come across; even if you delete the reserved space save file the game will not start unless there is enough space to reserve 18gb when you next play it

Re: Xbox 'Investigating' Adding More Older Backwards Compatible Games

GlasgowGuy

Pretty sure Deus Ex Directors Cut is B/C - you need the disc version, as you are right there was never a digital version to buy, but you do end up downloading the digital version, its just you need the disc to authenticate the download
Also Smart Glass not longer works with it
Would be good if Games With Gold included some of the games that are not available to buy digitally such as this or Blazin' Angels, etc
