@DeanyBabyy college football in the USA is very large. Having more teams being spread across the USA allows more fans to connect with a more local team vs NFL
@UltraGuy they are still under Sony and are exclusive. Sony played a role in those games and deserve a lot of credit. Helldivers 2 only costing $40 doesn’t take anything alway from it. In the US it is the best selling game of the year in terms of total $$$ made. And also if Xbox as a whole includes black ops 6 and vessel of hatred when talking about its 1st party The final shape is for damn sure fair to be included with Sony considering they own bungie. Back to the 2nd party games Yes you are right that they don’t own shift up and arrowhead but they still directly are exclusive and they earn $$ from them.
@UltraGuy I seriously don’t know how people can say that Sony’s first party output has been lacking this year?? Helldivers 2 has sold over 12 million copies. Stellar Blade was a great debut on console for Shift Up and Bungie more then delivered on the final shape. Sony has been kicking Xbox’s ass in terms of first party output this year so far.
Easily Fall 2021. Yes they put their games too close too each other but it was the only time they had been consistent with releases this gen. Psychonauts 2, halo infinite, and the best game they have had this gen in forza horizon 5. Now should have halo infinite been delay for more content and also give them a game in Spring 2022 and given Horizon 5 the full spotlight yes absolutely. But Fall 2021 was the glimpse Of what Xbox can be if it gets its ***** together.
Xbox needs to rework its comms and marketing team so ABK marketing plays a bigger role and promote Inexile’s social teams to head of all of Xbox cause they are amazing
@K1LLEGAL fair point on hi fi rush and Minecraft legends. But come on man you know console ports don’t have the energy Xbox needs. Also yes redfall is part of the output but it did more harm than good. I am coming from the AAA 1st party games which Xbox needs to be more consistent with.
@K1LLEGAL except it wouldn’t be their full load. Still have OW2, clockwork, es6, blade, and whatever publishing is working with 2nd party teams. Xbox hasn’t had a full year of releases at all this gen and we are past the halfway point. If they are releasing new hardware in 2026 they need to show out next year. We as fans have been waiting for years for a year like that. It would also help if they did release everything only a month apart and space it out. One of Xbox’s biggest blunders was dropping halo infinite so close to horizon 5 when infinite needed more time and it took the shine from the masterpiece that was horizon 5.
I truly hope this is true. Xbox has yet to have a fully stacked year. Even their best year this gen 2021 their 1st half was ***** awful with not releasing stuff and the last 2 years have been very light in the first half. If they can get doom dark ages, GOW E-Day, fable, and south of midnight all released in a separate quarter it would be great to show they finally are having a consistent release schedule.
It’s a great update and the 60 fps does highlight how much improved the gunplay is in this game. This and the Diablo 4 update would have been big Xbox W’s if Xbox hadn’t pulled an Xbox. 1 step forward and 2 steps back is Phil’s internal memo I swear.
They need to keep the hammer down with in depth looks at Indy and Avowed with release dates. Games like Fable need a 2025 release window. Seems obvious we are gonna see Gears 6 and hopefully State of Decay 3 and Perfect Dark. Really hope we see Clockwork get a 2025 date
Think way too many people are downplaying COD. Treyarch has had over 4 years on this one and it’s also important for Marketing and correlating COD with Xbox again. Getting in the COD bros and having them maybe also play the likes of Avowed and Indy will help with player numbers for all of Xbox.
I understand the all digital future. But I was really hoping for a physical version. Hopefully avowed and the great circle get physical releases, especially if they are $70.
Want a balance this year. Continue to gameplay reveals for already announced games that where announced way to early. Have several new IPs premiere. The main thing I would say is to start have more consistent release dates all across the year. They need to continue with having AAA exclusives all year long. Also focus on the teams you have now and no large acquisition, aka no publisher. If they make smaller purchases like say Asobo or even GSC game world is one thing but no publishers. Xbox needs to get into a good system for the teams they have already before buying another one.
Hopefully it’s this year. Xbox needs at least one more big exclusive this year and hellblade 2 would fit a big hole in their portfolio. Also doesn’t make sense for one of the big rpgs to release this yest so close to starfield. If they don’t have another big exclusive this year then it would be incredibly disappointing for Xbox.
It’s sad but not too shocking. The game for what it is is overall a solid enough game. Turtle Rock does deserve a lot of credit for adding an offline mode.
Under a year from cgi reveal trailer to release would be ideal but two years from cgi reveal to release isn’t the worst. For Xbox and other companies to reveal games so early and then go completely stone cold silent is a bad move. EA and motive deserve a lot of credit for doing what is probably the best way of announcing a game, doing small dev live streams with in progress updates showing off what they are working on and then ramping up for closer to release
If any of the Xbox studios games stands a chance of releasing its hellblade 2. The first next gen exclusive to be announced and also the only one to have had gameplay shown off. Having that in the back half of the year would go a long way.
For most 3rd party publishers it doesn’t make sense with their big AAA money making games, especially if they are single player focused. People aren’t gonna want to hear this but it’s the truth. The only reason Xbox is able to maintain this is cause Microsoft makes money in other areas. Some games, in particular multiplayer games yes it makes sense but for a lot of 3rd party games it doesn’t.
Allowing the cod support teams to work on other things under Bethesda and Xbox as well will help out a lot. The amount of support teams Xbox has now will also benefit the other main first party teams greatly as well
Realistically beside the obvious redfall and starfield. Think seeing avowed and hellblade 2 are pretty high odds with hopefully 2023 (1st half if we get lucky) release dates. Every other XGS game besides forza is up in the air. With the dev problems with everwild, state of decay 3 and perfect dark who knows. I know it may be to early but I do think it’s possible to see fable though I could see them hold off if avowed gets a big show since having two big open world fantasy rpgs would probably not be ideal. Contraband will likely be there. I think out of the four first party teams that have been the most quite ( zenimax online, roundhouse, inexile and compulsion) I think we see what three of the four are working on, I specifically want/ hope compulsion and inexile are there and they are working on new ip not related to anything else. For third party, plage tale requiem is a given. Also think we’ll see Jedi fallen order 2. Think it would be cool if some of the quiet studios that are working on big new ip ( creative assembly, 31st union, teams like that) would be really cool if they show up. I just want to see three main things. 1. GAMEPLAY is the most important thing and the biggest thing Xbox has been lacking. 2. Release dates and windows, specifically first half of 2023. 3. New ip, Xbox really needs new ip and the likes of redfall and starfield are good starts but they need more. Besides those two the only other new ip is everwild and we all know how that’s going. Even avowed is technically a pillars spin off. They have quite a few reboots in the works and sequels. Would love to see new ip.
