For the best. The final fantasy games this gen have shown that timed 3rd party exclusives are not the way to go with how expensive games are to make. Certain cases like newer studios and new ip like Stellar Blade and questionable ip and teams like Bloober team and Silent Hill 2 are one thing but overall it’s not worth it. Especially when Pearl Abyss is an established team with Black Desert and owning Eve online.

@UndyingInsurgent95 I can agree with disliking those type of gamers, they have a lot of ***** that comes out of their mouth. Just more so trying to get to the point that just cause a bad group of people rally behind a product it doesn’t make the product at fault for their ***** options. Yes there are the allegations of sexism, but they are just allegations and of course it’s probably a few bad apples and not the entire studio. Just saying that if you don’t support a game from allegations then you can’t buy any Activison, Ubisoft, PlayStation, and most other AAA games cause they all have allegations.

It’s always a good thing to see good games come to Xbox. While the people clambering that this game is GOTY are talking out of their ass, it’s clear it’s a quality game. Just hope hope Xbox is more proactive with making sure games with a lot of potential launch day one on Xbox, which they seem to maybe doing getting some he likes of Wuchang day one on game pass.

Really wish Xbox would be more aggressive with positioning their logo with the Black Ops 6 marketing. Idk if it’s a contract thing or not but they are really dropping the ball. Mainly care cause I don’t want to see “black ops 6 hasn’t caused the amount of new game pass subscribers that we thought we would get so Xbox is getting more job cuts” cause thats totally some ***** Microsoft and Xbox would do.

It was good to cancel it for MW3. I know sledgehammer did a good job with adding content but for the vast majority of players it was tainted right from the beginning with how dogshit the campaign and zombies where and how poorly it reviewed. Save it for black ops 6, where Xbox is more so at least an equivalent marketing lead for it. Also having it launch day one in game pass will allow it to synergize better with Xbox’s lead ip. Also the fact that Black Ops 6 is shaping up to be on one of the best cod games in a while is another bonus to add more cooler content like this.

@richyroo yes sea of thieves is one Xbox’s biggest W’s. But you also have to consider Rare’s mismanagement of the everwild team…

@AverageGamer very fair point about Playground. Would say you are very much under selling Obsidian. While Rare has gotten into an awesome cycle with content, under his watch Rare also has had Everwild which has been in development hell. Just saying I would rather see a leader from a team like Obsidian which clearly knows how to run their teams efficiently and effectively and release games consistently vs a team like Rare which took a while to figure out what to do with Sea of thieves and also has everwild on their track record.

He presents well and Rare certainly has become a very good studio overall. But, him being the studio head and then having Everwild in dev hell under his watch and now having him being head of Xbox game studios worries me a litttle pit. Would have much rather seen Obsidian or Playground leadership become the head of Xbox game studios.

@Balaam_ was more so throwing that bout as a fun one. Fromsoftware owns the ip, not Xbox/ activison. Was more so coming from the angle that Xbox could work a deal out with Fromsoftware

@Banjo- pretty sure it’s all rights not just UK. More so was trying to say that while cloud is growing it’s still a fraction of a fraction of gamers that actually do it and it probably won’t really help grow game pass. Game pass needs high quality games that launch on it day one.

@Banjo- oh don’t get it twisted we aren’t going to get new AA ip. My point was that we are still gonna get new ip, but it’s gonna be bigger games. We have seen Xbox say ***** you to what was considered a successful new AA ip.

But xbox is investing in new ip and the need to, in particular they need new single player ip. Clockwork, South of Midnight, OD, activison has elsewhere. Not even including rumored publishing deals with panache and hundred stars. Xbox needs new blood and the main thing is more so single player games. Xbox and PlayStation this gen tried to become more like the other. Xbox needed more single player games like PlayStation and PlayStation needed more mp live service games like Xbox. So far neither have truly beaten the other at their game.

@OldGamer999 also I mean they have Coalition in their corner, literally the best Unreal team outside of Epic. Also think it was stupid for Obsidian to have had the Art director to comment on the fps and not a more technical lead

@OldGamer999 it’s truly amazing how they get in their own way. Xbox has an internal mandate that must always follow good news with bad news to take themselves out at the new cap. This year alone, great developer direct then the business update that was very poorly messaged. In May they have 2 fantastic updates for Starfield and Diablo 4, then they announced they shut down Tango. Had a phenomenal showcase in June then they raised game pass prices and ***** over console game pass subscribers. And now at gamescom it’s been up and down the entire time. Will also say it’s amazing an open world next gen Xbox exclusive in Stalker 2 is 60 fps but Avowed a first party hub based game isn’t.

@OldGamer999 I didn’t mind Starfield cause it still played well and could at least understand the scale and size being factors in the 30 fps decision. Loved the 60 fps update but it became clear Bethesda, Xbox and Todd lied out of their asses with saying it was a “creative decision”

@OldGamer999 the have had W’s and great games since then, just nothing reached that high. I love Starfield and consider it a great game but it certainly wasn’t on that next level. As for avowed I refuse to believe it won’t be 60 when it launches and that Obsidian is being coy with previews. Like Klorbrile pointed out after redfall all the trailers have been in 60, this is hub based and not open world so it should be less intensive, and they have Coalition as support to help them optimize. If it truly is only 30 Xbox needs to start firing a lot of people

Xbox made this a ***** issue when Greenberg stated that 60 fps is the standard for next gen. Their first 2 big exclusives had 60 fps modes then the next 4 didn’t. As long as the game is good 30 fps can be over looked but when Avowed isn’t a big open world game like Starfield and isn’t as graphically intensive as Hellblade 2 it’s a very bad look optics wise.

OMG can’t believe a Xbox next gen only exclusive is launching with 60fps!!! This ***** is actually nuts. But for real though this is great to see. I hope the team has a big hits on their hands and by extension Xbox might actually have consistent big exclusives this fall.

Can’t wait to see how they spin what was supposed to be an exclusive going to another platform after they said it wouldn’t. Xbox truly needs to figure out their imaging and marketing ***** is getting old.

Damn GSC might really be cooking with this one. The state of new single player shooters this gen is abysmal. The freedom and the immersive sim elements really seem to be shinning through here. Really think this might be one of those breakthrough successes this year.

Anyone with a brain shouldn’t be surprised by these comments. Only Xbox can make Game Pass work cause of Microsoft’s backing. Of course no other 3rd party publisher is gonna willingly put their game on game pass day one unless Xbox offers a big bag of money. And the whole other point here is there is no way the most anticipated game of all time is gonna launch on game pass day one. If you think that would be possible you are stupid.

@Neither_scene previews have been pretty good in terms of running good on pc’s. Also the system specs are pretty generous. As for Xbox WWZ runs at 60 with all the zombies on screen so Space Marine 2 should be good.

@BAMozzy try to use common sense for a moment. Why would they announce the sequel to their most beloved and arguably most successful game this generation at a 3rd party event? If there is talk about Avowed getting delayed cause there is too many games in game pass this fall why would they announce another one?? Playground is probably all hands on Fable getting it into a super polished state. Come on now don’t say dumb things.

The only thing i better be seeing are some ***** release dates for Indiana Jones and Avowed.

@themightyant I completely understand why they are doing it but that’s not the problem. The problem is why even announce a release window in the first place. Yes fall of 2021 was stacked and it is important to space out their games but will say that time was when Xbox was most successful this generation. We are also getting to the point where Xbox has had so few exclusives that they need to start releasing their exclusives to get more people in to game pass and buy consoles and having a crap ton of presumed quailty exclusives and first party games is the way to do it.

Always delay it if it’s not ready…… but come the ***** on Xbox. Why the ***** did you give a window as fall 2024 not even 2 months ago and then you were going to delay it. Xbox’s planning is ***** horrible and they need to get their release dates figured the ***** out cause this ***** is getting old.

Really sad to see after the final shape did very well. It is part of the over investment into live service games.
