Re: Talking Point: Will Any Of Xbox's 2026 Releases Become GOTY Contenders Next Year?

Fishmasterflex96

Too early to say. 1st off no way in hell the halo remake gets a nomination. 2nd off while unfortunately FH6 probably will be good enough to have a GOTY level score it’s not gonna get a nomination. So as of now it’s down to Fable and Eday. I don’t think Eday is going to be in the running but I hope I’m wrong and the coalition brings the horror aspects back and it’s amazing. That leaves fable and I don’t think enough people are speaking the truth about this game which is that we have no idea it’s going to turn out. Playground is a racing team and switching genres like this is no easy task, this game has also had some development issues do too how long it’s taken to make. Then there’s the real challenge which is the insane amount of big games that are coming from or appear to be GOTY caliber. GTA 6, RE Requiem, Pragmata, crimson desert, 007 first light, onimusha, Lego Batman, control resonant, and more I’m missing and we don’t know about.

Re: Black Ops 7 Was The Best-Selling Game In November, But Battlefield 6 Remains Top For 2025 (US)

@BAMozzy by cod standards it’s absolutely a flop out of the gate. Yes I would hope BO7 would outsell BO6 year to date in its launch month, I’m talking about the charts when both games launched. Even being on game pass the month BO6 launched it was already the 3rd best selling game of 2024. Yes BO7 has outsold a lot of other games this year, but that’s the expectation cause if effing COD. The fact that COD hasn’t outsold games like MH Wilds or BL4 that has softer tails isn’t good. Yes of course with games it’s about the tail end and not just out of the gate but it’s an awful start. All measurable metrics show BO7 has had a bad start. Low player reception and critical reception. Insane drop in players on Steam and double digit drops in sales overall by double digits. None of this is good.

Re: Indiana Jones Set To Release For PS5 In April After Four Months Of Xbox Exclusivity

@Fiendish-Beaver Microsoft doesn’t care about their hardware sales. They obviously are going to continue to make hardware but their priority is in software. Their hardware is dying. Main reason why we are seeing them try so hard to increase pc game pass and mobile. Just saying that the best thing for the Microsoft gaming studios teams is prioritizing launching everywhere to make these games and teams as sustainable as they can. Hardware doesn’t mean ***** nowadays, they threw in the towel of meaningfully competing in that market and now their priorities need to shift

Re: Xbox Has 'Right Approach' To Exclusives & PlayStation May Follow, Suggests Ori Dev

Definitely makes sense with the Ps5 exclusives going to PC, but still think Sony as of right now has absolutely no incentive to port their games to Xbox outside of certain exceptions. Mean as of right now seems like it’s maybe 30 million and it’s not like Xbox is experiencing insane levels of growth. They still have some incentive for Exclusives, at least timed before a PC release. Vs Xbox which even when they had their biggest exclusives in years last year with Starfield, they still saw a loss in growth for 2023. With them now focusing on multiplatform releases, they are better of focusing of launching everywhere at the same time.

Re: Xbox Is 'Evolving' Rather Than 'Losing' Its Identity, Says Phil Spencer

Upset Xbox didn’t truly invest and compete this gen with console exclusives, especially after talking about wanting to compete in the ftc court case over ABK. But that’s in the past and the reality is that Xbox in terms of console hardware is dead as it was in the traditional sense. Now might as well put games everywhere to maximize game sales, also would appreciate more physical releases on ps5 and switch 2. Focus on making games and making sure the teams can be sustainable in development and that they make good games.
