Re: Bethesda Has Started Responding To Negative User Reviews Of Starfield

DennisReynolds

@VokDaWiibSlayer You sound like a person who just wants everyone to blindly praise the thing you like. Steam reviews require you to own the game if you want those reviews to be treated with worth and Steam reviews funny enough are for people to you know review a thing they bought, its not a feature for you to suck off your favourite corp or dev its there to say what you think about the game. If someone doesn't like a game they full right to express on something that wants them to express their thoughts and opinion even if it makes people like you salty for some reason.

Also before you call me a hater i loved Starfield but unlike you i don't care if strangers say they don't like it on the internet.

Re: Reaction: Should We Really Be Surprised By 'Declining' Xbox Console Sales?

DennisReynolds

@Lup Fun fact Xbox had more 1st party games coming to it then PS5 did this year and from the sounds of things the same applies to next yes but yes sorry Sony is the only one that does exclusives while MS happily didn't cancel PS5 versions of Starfield and Redfall and isn't making the likes of Hellblade 2 exclusive or paying for timed exclusives like Stalker 2 or Ark 2.

Re: Xbox Might Be Losing Its Microsoft Rewards App (And Weekly Streaks)

DennisReynolds

@Kaloudz Well you see that's the thing Phil likes to group everything together with the "ecosystem" buzzword to make things sound better then they are but i wouldn't be shocked if parent MS are wondering why they're even bothering having a games console if the money is only coming from PC and Gamepass (what hasn't seen growth). From the sound of things MS is starting to clamp down on Phil's free reign hence the price increase for console and games, Rewards being gutted, Gamepass $1 sub offer being nerfed, Gold free games being dropped (less value for Ultimate subs) and so on.

Re: Reaction: Looking Back, Xbox Has Had Some Strange GOTY Omissions Over The Years

DennisReynolds

@Belkan They both do it and have been since the start, look at the 360 era with MS making sure to keep Bioshock off PS3 for a good while as well keep Mass Effect exclusive for years or getting timed GTA IV DLC. MS are just as guilty and actually do it more and still doing it to this day. As for buying studios yeah Sony bought a very very small handful last gen so MS decided to buy 2 massive mega corps along with endless other studios changing the game. Sony are no angels but neither is MS.

Re: Reaction: Looking Back, Xbox Has Had Some Strange GOTY Omissions Over The Years

DennisReynolds

Its because MS are great at putting out 8/10 games but struggle putting out 9's and 10's. Starfield is a great game and Hi-Fi Rush is good fun they aren't at the level of Baldur's Gate 3, TotK, Alan Wake 2 and Mario Wonder. I will say while Spidey 2 is a great game its certainly not GOTY level, solid 8.5 but no way should it be up there with Baldur's Gate 3 or Alan Wake 2.

Shocked Gears 3 didn't get more love though in the day as that's peak Gears and one of the best 3rd person shooters ever made.

Re: Starfield Fails To Make Shortlist For 'Game Of The Year' At The Game Awards 2023

DennisReynolds

@Banjo- I addressed you once you replied and then i replied and then you replied with me now replying, welcome to the concept of convensations or in this case a debate. I challenge the notion of why you think Hi-Fi is GOTY worthy when a game like Baldur's Gate 3 exists, its like thinking Barbie is Best Picture worthy when films like Killers of the Flower Moon exist. As for Spider-Man 2 i don't think its GOTY worthy i think its a solid 8.5 and nothing else though i find it interesting you're getting antsy that Zelda and Spider-Man 2 are nominated while the 1st party Xbox games aren't on this Xbox centric site.

Re: Starfield Fails To Make Shortlist For 'Game Of The Year' At The Game Awards 2023

DennisReynolds

@Kienda I love Starfield but its not unique or daring, its basically Fallout 3 in space what is great but as a space game No Man's Sky, Elite, Everspace 2 and Star Citizen all do or do most of the things that Starfield does space wise but far better. Starfield's strengths are the typical Bethesda stuff you would get in ES or Fallout but the moment you start exploring those empty bland worlds or do anything in space its faults are pretty glaring.

Re: Starfield Fails To Make Shortlist For 'Game Of The Year' At The Game Awards 2023

DennisReynolds

@Banjo- When i think of 10/10's of the year i think of Baldur's Gate 3, Zelda, Mario Wonder and Alan Wake 2 not a fairly decent if nothing special action game that has been forgotten by most. It was never getting nominations because again its nothing special and if not for a shadow drop and Gamepass i think the reception to it would be a tad colder.

Funny you're throwing the opinion card at me though considering your comments on Zelda. You think its overrated cool but the vast majority clearly don't just like you imply my thoughts on Hi-Fi Rush aren't the majority.

Re: Halo Infinite Dev Posts Lengthy Response To 'Increased' Bundle Prices

DennisReynolds

@AtlanteanMan Despite my thoughts on Halo nowadays i heavily disagree that "gaming isn't fun anymore". This year is straight up one of the greatest years in gaming, its crazy how much i've spent on gaming this year and how little of it i've got round to playing due to the sheer volume of quality releases put out. AAA, AA, indies, console exclusives and so on there's been something for everyone and there's at least 3 or 4 GOTY contenders.

Re: Halo Infinite Dev Posts Lengthy Response To 'Increased' Bundle Prices

DennisReynolds

@ParsnipHero A mobile spin off. Mario on console has never been treated the way MS/343 has treated Halo the freaking mascot of Xbox and the reason Xbox succeeded, Infinite should be the crown jewel of the Series consoles something that is on par with the Switch's Mario and Zelda games or the PS4/5's God of War games. Its disgusting how badly treated Halo has been since Bungie left, freaking Forza gets more attention from MS then Halo does.

Re: Video: Here's 15+ Minutes Of Alan Wake 2 Running On Xbox Series S

DennisReynolds

@jedinite Alan Wake 2 can do 60fps on PS5 and SX and not only that Starfield while pretty at times is hardly groundbreaking while Alan Wake 2 has some of the best visuals in gaming to the point its a miracle a 60fps mode is even possible on PS5 and SX.

When Spider-Man 2 can do 60fps with the best RT in console gaming, have zero loading with a completely seamless world with insanely fast transversal speeds it really drives home the fact the biggest Xbox game in years is locked at 30fps with no RT in a world cut up by loading screens on the most powerful console ever. I love Starfield but let's not defend the 30fps and technical shortcomings when games like Spidey 2, Baldur's Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 are pushing gaming forward and released in the same timespan as Starfield.

Re: Microsoft Reshuffle Makes Huge Changes To Team Xbox, Matt Booty & Sarah Bond Promoted

DennisReynolds

@BrilliantBill The first Horizon game was getting competition ads to win a PS4 on Channel 4 back in 2017. Fact is Sony market their big games hard, you know when a new big Sony is out because you see marketing almost everywhere just like you do Mario, Pokemon, Zelda and such with Nintendo. MS don't do this not even with Halo, their new games aren't events they're just new games like any other.
