Oh its the very much the end of the console maker side of Xbox. Next gen Xbox only exists so they have something as they start going harder on becoming the next Sega. Xbox the console is done and there's not much point supporting it once this Gen ends.

So why close a studio that gave you just that last year?

Damn what a terrible week for Xbox players. MS are going full scorch earth on tanking whatever love their fanbase had for them. I'm not paying anymore for GP especially for a game series i don't play.

@Thwomp_Stomper This Gen has had some resl massive highs (BG3 and Elden Ring) but overall this has been a terrible gen. We have all this from MS, Sony have barely put stuff out and have made some pretty bad moves, endless layoffs, endless failed live services, barely any current gen only games and too many broken AAA games. Thank god the Indie scene and the AA space have been on top form at least.

This is MS ladies and gentlemen. Scum company always have been and always will be, gaming would have been better off without them. They used HiFI every chance they had last year to big up themselves only for a year later to murder the studio that made it.

@Utena-mobile Used to be? They were always like this, they only humbled a bit for a small time because the X1 was an utter failure. MS is one of the worst media based corps in the world, they are ruthless as hell.

Got to love how MS boasted and heavily praised HiFi Rush last year only to murder the studio that made it the next year only a month or two after porting the game to PS5 to great result. Tango did not deserve this at all.

Not being smug as i'm gutted at these closes especially Tango but there you go people MS buying up gaming was a terrible thing, their true colours are on full display here. MS really are like hold my beer to Sony for being an awful greedy corp.

@HonestHick I do wonder if that rumoured Gears Collection will see a PS release, would be very surreal though if Gears does hit PS.

Problem with RT is its really expensive and having it on means taking a huge dip in framerate. I'm still amazed Spidey 2 can have it on and still keep the 60fps, easily the best usage of it this gen as well as it really helps sell NY's open world.

@UBERSICKO Where's your sales numbers? Because SE haven't released them yet. Also performance is pretty solid the issue is the visual hit the game takes to get it at 60fps.

Won't happen as Sony have zero reason to release games on Xbox.

@XboxistheBestBox MS is porting games because the PS5 has double the sales of Series S/X and Phil has admitted they have "lost". The Series S/X are actually doing worse then X1 and its clear Daddy MS are getting more involved with Xbox.

Great idea in theory but poorly executed and the tech just wasn't there.

I own a SS so it doesn't really impact me on what happens but i did vote Gears for the top spot, easily the best 1st party series on Xbox for me and the original Gears was a big reason i got a 360.

The rumours are true then and damn this paints a bad future for Xbox. I've still yet to upgrade to a Series X but right now i think i will just stick with my SS as it seems my reason for wanting to upgrade will covered by my PS5 if the games are being ported over.

Yeah this is just the start and i do think MS pulling a Sega is looking very possible. Maybe buying Activision wasn't to add to Xbox but add to this 3rd party future they might have planned.

@Romans12 MS is worth 3 Trillion but Xbox ain't and the Xbox side of MS doesn't have access to 3 Trillion. You don't understand how this works do you? You know it could be said they're porting games because Xbox isn't making enough on its own and considering how much MS downgraded Gamepass Ultimate this past year i'm inclined to believe it.

@BacklogBrad Releasing live service and smaller titles on other systems is something both Sony and MS should really consider. Sure keep Indy on Xbox and Spider-Man 2 on PS5 but put Sea of Thieves on PS and Helldivers 2 on Xbox. Would help with player numbers and help promote smaller games that aren't big expensive AAA games.

Concerned with the Dev putting it out as bug free launches aren't a thing with them and its a coin flip if they decide to fix it but that said i have the collection pre-ordered.

Yeah i really should have bought this when it was on sale last oh well 😔

@Friendly Ark 2 and Stalker are timed. They haven't really gone after bug AAA games like Sony has but it doesn't really matter if its AA, AAA or Indie a timed exclusive is a timed exclusive. I mean there's that Warhammer MP game that is meant to be great, i really want to play it but i own Series S and its heavily gimped on there with a 30fps framerate and heavily reduced graphics so naturally i'm waiting for the PS5 version except of course who knows when that's coming due to the timed exclusivity. I'm not trying to defend Sony here it sucks FF7R is not on Xbox but i'm just saying both are guilty of doing the same things one way or another what i wish people here would just admit to and that's not aimed at you or anyone in particular its just the general vibe this site has in that Sony are scum and MS are saints.

@Friendly When did Sony start the spending spree? Because Sony started going hard on spending after MS bought a lot of Devs and then Bethesda. Seriously why do people on here twist and make up facts?

This Gen MS has had way more timed 3rd party games then PS has and it even has more timed 3rd party games coming then PS5 has. Fun fact you know how Sony pays to keep games off Xbox? Yeah MS does that way more, the amount of games that release on Switch and Xbox but not on PS until a year or two later is amazing.

Fact is Sony and MS do the same things and always have, neither are angels but remember MS entered gaming by trying to gobble up Nintendo and if Phil could get his way they would try and do it again and we know that for a fact.

@Friendly Yeah MS just go super hard on timed deals, buying up Publishers and blocking PS5 versions of certain Gamepass games instead.

@InsaneWade Stuff like this is why i rarely comment on here. MS can do no wrong, are underdogs and big bad Sony is evil according to these guys. Yeah exclusive DLC sucks but both Sony and MS are guilty of it.

@Widey85 MS also blocked Persona 3/4 PS5 versions and fun fact MS have more gaming studios then Sony does far more. I wouldn't be shocked if Palworld is barred from PS5 for a while as well. MS do all the tricks Sony does and another fun fact the 360 dominated the PS3 most of that gen but then Don and his lacky Phil decided to crash and burn the Xbox brand.

@Widey85 Guess you missed the 360 days where GTA IV's DLC was exclusive to 360 for ages before it appeared on PS3. MS are just as guilty as Sony for all these anti-consumer BS tactics.

@Kaloudz End of the day you're on a Xbox site, Xbox is your console of choice and MS makes Xbox's. You aren't going to call out MS because that would mean being negative about the Corp who makes your favourite gaming toy. As i said gamers especially younger ones tend to lack empathy as they never really had to deal with life. You caring or not about those sacked isn't the point though its being pro MS on something that is news that only benefits MS higher ups . Funny enough this attitude is quite common here hence why i rarely comment on here.

They spent 69 Billion on them they sure as hell didn't need to do this.

The Series S have proving they don't need it. I think the real question is will the PS6 be disc based or not. Either way disc based consoles will be gone within 2 generations ignoring Nintendo of course as they won't drop physical media just yet. I game exclusively digital now and i watch my Blu Rays/DVD's on my region free player so no matter what happens it doesn't impact me.

Question why is everyone saying this blew them away when we saw so little actual gameplay? All we really saw was some cutscenes with a deepfake Harrison Ford, dev interviews and a very small handful of gameplay footage.

I have no issues with 1st person views in games but a game like Indy should be 3rd person. Honestly this sounds like a case of a 1st person heavy Dev not wanting to switch tactics and do something new.

@Sakai Looks like Troy is putting in a contender for one of his worst performances as he sounded so wooden and had none of that Ford charm. I honestly thought it was an AI due to how bad it sounds.

Highlight of the show for me and i really hope it hits Xbox at some point.

I thought it looked pretty bad to be honest. The 1st person view doesn't suit Indy and makes the whip combat look really rough and awkward and is that an AI voicing Indy? Because that "acting" feels extremely lifeless and wooden. I get they didn't want to make Uncharted or Tomb Raider (games inspired by Indy) but yeah this doesn't look good at all and the uncanny valley is strong with the Indy model as well.

The fact this is even a question kinda says it all. Gamepass is what MS cares about and if Sony and Nintendo allowed Gamepass then MS would be over the moon. Xbox is on its last legs, it will have a next gen but i suspect that gen will phase Xbox out and phase GamePass box in with many 1st party games hitting other consoles. Phil's admitted Xbox lost and MS have been tightening the Xbox leash pretty hard this past year.

Its sad to say it but the Xbox brand died E3 2013.
