It's hilarious watching people whine so much about something that just does not affect them. "Oh no! This game that I can play on release is going to another console so other people can enjoy the game too! Oh no, it's also bringing in more revenue for Xbox! Oh no! Xbox is going to have more money to do cool things with! How terrible!"
Console fanboys (and to be fair, fanboys as a whole) are an utter cancer. Play the console you want to play on, if you're having fun playing the games you want to play why the hell does it matter what other people are playing on where?
@OldGamer999 "Why release with bugs included freezing and restarting"
I mean...you've played triple A releases in the last decade or so right?
Devs have been put under more and more pressure by publishers to release within tighter schedules, if I'm playing a triple A on launch nowdays I'm pretty much expecting for it to be buggy. It's a shame, but it's what business has done to video game development.
@fizban3332 Lore wise Europe was actually way way worse off than the US. Before the bombs fell on the US Europe had just come out of a massively costly war with the Middle East over oil. It's also heavily implied that the UK is an extremely godawful place to live, in Fallout 3 there's a character who moved from the UK to the Capital Wasteland (which, of all the places in post-war US is one of the worst places to live as it's basically a barely livable, irradiated, slaver and mutant filled s***hole) for a better life and to seek his fortune, the implication being that life in the UK is somehow even worse than the previously mentioned barely livable, irradiated slaver and mutant filled s***hole.
Mass Effect 3: Citadel. The series was established enough for it to be absolutely full of hilarious fan service and jokes (Sheperd's line about the hamster is hands down one of the best lines in the whole series), the story was still good even for a fan service heavy DLC and the party you throw for the crew is a highlight of the series.
"Interestingly, there's no mention of a PC release for GTA 6 in the report, which suggests that the PC version will follow at some point after the console launch."
It's fairly well known that Rockstar, for whatever reason, have never released their games on PC at launch since GTA 3. I don't think anybody was expecting Rockstar to break the trend for GTA 6.
Maybe, just maybe we ought to stop giving so much time, consideration and attention to comments that are just rumours?
I swear every other video game article nowadays is this rubbish, this whole habit of reporting on "information" while saying "it's just a rumour" is so utterly pointless because at the end of the day it's unverified information.
I get it, in this day and age where we have access to so much information instantly people are always desperate for more information but reporting on rumours just does not help anyone.
@InterceptorAlpha Yeah nah but mate you're missing the bit where the whole Fallout 4 next gen patch being released was a conspiracy by Bethesday to screw over Fallout London 😂
Too much of the internet actually believes the above to be true, it's depressing.
@GuyinPA75 I'm fairly certain it's completely free, they would have very likely run into trouble with Bethesda's lawyers if they were charging for it.
I'm honestly surprised they've gotten away with as much as they've gotten away with so far given how close their branding is to official releases and how prominently their branding features "Fallout" in it. Even Valve, a company who are extremely chill with their fanbase modding and messing around with their IPs, politely asked the developers of Black Mesa to remove "Source" from their title so it wouldn't be mistakenly identified as an official project.
@Grackler You wouldn't have to with physical stores no, but there's a couple points here. For starters if a pricing mistake is noticed at the till in a physical store the store is not under any legal obligation to sell you a product at the incorrect price, they can legally refuse the sale.
Secondly when you purchase items from an online store you're under their terms and conditions, which likely cover them in case of pricing mistakes. At the very least a business can cancel orders if it can be proven that a customer should have reasonably noticed that the price of the product was a mistake. In this case £5 for something that usually costs £220 is quite blatantly an error.
@GeeForce In no universe is it a developer's responsibility to ensure their patches and updates are compatible with fanmade mods.
Speaking of, the creator of Fallout London sounded more and more narcissistic with his comments about how Bethesda should have consulted with him to make sure their mod worked on the new patch.
Why do people care so much about what's going on over the fence? The current gen Xbox S and X are far from underpowered, they run fine, play games fine and games look stunning on them. Why waste so much time caring about the PS5 getting a refresh if you're happy gaming on your Xbox?
Besides, any mid-gen refresh is only going to make the most incremental of incremental changes to quality, I think the only people mid-gen refreshes really make sense for are people still on last gen consoles.
@el_pieablo Similar to you I first completed Grandia II around 20 years ago. I've had the remastered version on Steam for a while and recently played a little bit of it, it's still a fun JRPG but dear god the voice acting is so much more cringy when you're an adult.
"The View From Above: Designing Compelling Quests for 'Diablo IV'"
Do they need the whole hour for that? It's gonna be a short presentation. Don't get me wrong, I loved playing Diablo 4 but the quests were mostly "go here, kill this thing" or "go here, kill these things and pick up this thing".
I completed Diablo 4 and if you held a gun to my head I would struggle to describe one quest in detail.
"While the visuals will utterly wow you, it's a shame it doesn't introduce more original ideas."
I mean that's a pretty succint description of every Ubisoft game for quite a long time. Trying to look for original ideas in an Ubisoft game, and I say this as someone who still enjoyed Far Cry 6, is like looking for lions on Pluto.
Looks like Andromeda is definitely involved in some way then, I'm honestly really glad BioWare are including Andromeda in the new Mass Effect. Andromeda was massively massively underrated and was a great game, I'm still annoyed we never got story DLC for it.
@TheSimulator Don't get me wrong, I love StarCraft and would love to see a new RTS but I'm wondering what would the plot be? They basically finished the story in StarCraft 2.
Though saying that Blizz "finished" the story of Diablo like at least twice so I'm sure they'd find a way, I just hope any continuation of StarCraft's story would be good given how well the story ended in StarCraft 2.
I mean I can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls but this also means that the next Fallout is probably a decade out.
Really wish Bethesda would let another studio do a Fallout spinoff like New Vegas again, though I suppose they're not keen on doing that again after another studio did their IP better than them.
(Note: I'm not being serious on the last point and love all the Fallout games, just poking fun at the fact that the community on the whole seem to prefer New Vegas over Fallout 3.)
Really cool to see Microsoft supporting right to repair and it's nice to see that Microsoft's official video unscrews the thumbsticks like all the other guides, though I was hoping for a smarter way that didn't involve possibly breaking them...
I like modding my controllers with new buttons but I've been completely put off trying to mod my Elite 2 because it looks really difficult to get in to the controller and I really don't want to break a pretty expensive controller.
@themightyant Nope I definitely agree with you, they're a product of their time. It's like trying to play GTA3 or Vice City now, fine at the time but game mechanics have definitely moved on.
Blizzard: "Hmm maybe we should improve our endgame activities, which are currently reptitive, very grindy and honestly a little bland and boring, to make it more challenging for players with their existing builds?"
Also Blizzard: "Nah sod it, let's just nerf the absolute hell out of everyone."
A friend of mine once lost a job because of FFVII, he bought it on release and just didn't bother going in to work for a week because he was that hooked on it.
@Vepra I've always been a little disappointed that Age of Sigmar doesn't seem to get nearly as much love as 40K gets, which is a damn shame because it seems like it would be a really cool world to explore.
Realms of Ruin does look really good, I saw "AoS RTS" and instantly started hoping for an AoS DoW.
Man a lot of good looking trailers dropped and I really want to be excited for WH games given you've got absolute classics like Dawn of War and the first Space Marine. The problem is Games Workshop's approach to giving out the WH license to devs appears to be just throw licenses at everyone and their dog.
Hive Wars and Hired Gun looked incredible from their trailers and I really wanted to play them, but goddamn are they terrible games in reality.
Oh man, when Shadowrun: Hong Kong came out I basically finished it in one go, I just couldn't stop playing it. I booted up the game one afternoon and next thing I knew birds were chirping and I'd not been to sleep.
@Kaloudz Being a massive fan of the Titanfall games I played Apex from launch, it was a really fun game but I gave up in the end because sadly I work a day job and I couldn't keep up skill-wise with the people playing it constantly 😂
But yeah Respawn know how to make a damn good shooter, even without the Titans Apex was a really fun shooter. Just a goddamn shame they're apparently not doing Titanfall 3.

Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See From Starfield's Shattered Space Expansion?
An actually good ending. I loved everything about Starfield up to the ending, the current Starfield ending is beyond awful.
Oh wait no, and those stupid temple "puzzles". Whoever designed those temple "puzzles" needs to be exiled from game development.

Ok this is tempting me back to D4, a full expansion with a new plot sounds fun.
I completed the base campaign but completely lost interest because the endgame in D4 absolutely sucks. The seasons aren't that interesting either.

Re: Talking Point: One Month On From Launch, How Are You Feeling About Starfield?
After putting a good 200 hours into the game I've gotta say I pretty much love everything about the game except the ending.
Without spoiling too much, the ending completely ****ing sucks.
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Think Of Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 So Far?
