It's BlizzCon this weekend and in case you somehow missed it, Blizzard is now operating under Microsoft and Xbox.

This means all of Blizzard's offerings are now technically a part of the Xbox brand, so there could potentially be all sorts of exciting announcements in the future. On day one of BlizzCon 2023, Xbox hasn't wasted any time reminding fans it's now helping to "empower" this legendary company - with Phil Spencer appearing early on in the broadcast to welcome everyone.

If you're wondering what else was announced on day one of the show, here's the full round up:

Overwatch 2 - New hero, mode & map (Xbox & PC)

The new tank hero 'Mauga' is coming to Season 8 of Overwatch 2, and he's available in a "limited-time trial" this weekend.

Diablo 4 - First expansion and new class "late 2024" (Xbox & PC)

Diablo 4 is getting its first expansion 'Vessel of Hatred' in "late 2024". It includes a new class and location. Blizzard also has more updates planned for Season 2.

World of Warcraft announced 'The Worldsoul Saga' - a three-part series, with the first expansion 'The War Within' releasing in 2024. This will follow with two other expansions: World of Warcraft: Midnight and World of Warcraft: The Last Titan.

"Players will travel to the new continent of Khaz Algar as an ancient civilization rises to power deep beneath the surface of the planet."

World of Warcraft Classic - Cataclysm returns (PC)

WoW's Classic version is introducing Season of Discovery. The main announcement was the return of the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion.

"World of Warcraft Classic invites players to return to Azeroth once again and begin a new journey—with a twist! In Season of Discovery, players will start a fresh adventure where exploration and experimentation will be key to unlocking new abilities for their characters.

"Then, in 2024, Classic players will witness the breaking of the world (again) in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Classic! Blizzard Entertainment's third World of Warcraft expansion, originally released in December 2010, returns with faster content cadence, improvements to leveling, expanded Collections UI, a new difficulty level for Dungeon Group Finder after launch, and more!"

Hearthstone's upcoming expansion Shadows in the Badlands is launching 14th of November. Hearthstone Battlegrounds is also getting a new tag team format 'Duos Mode'", coming in 2024.

"Two heads are better than one in Hearthstone Battlegrounds Duos, an exciting and truly collaborative way to play coming to the popular game mode in 2024. Two players can partner up and strategize together, sharing cards, health, and resources as they work with special Duos cards and synergies to take the crown together!"
