Re: Weirdness: Missing That Xbox One 'Day One' Achievement? Now You Can Buy It Without the eBay Risk

Captain_Chao5

"you can display that Day One gamerpic with pride and rest easy in the knowledge that you've got that Day One achievement locked away on your profile for nobody to ever see. Although, if you're desperate enough to buy this, then we're sure that you're the sort of person who would add it to your profile showcase..."

That was a little harsh. I actually do own a Day One console and until reading this was displaying the achievement on my showcase. Sad maybe, but there you go.
The irony is, it was me that posted the link to CD-Keys on this forum as I thought it was piss-poor that something (that should have been) exclusive was available generally

Re: Next Assassin's Creed Title to Be Revealed on Tuesday

Captain_Chao5

"We'll find out on Tuesday. Unless Ubisoft decides to hold off and have a separate event to reveal the name. Then another to reveal the formats. Then another for the season pass."

Don't forget the follow-up reveal to apologise for making such a balls-up of the release and offering a free game. LOL

Joking apart, I am interested to see how they recover from AC Unity. If the reveal is this week, I doubt we'll see a game this side of Christmas, but I'll not write it off just yet.

Re: You Can Play as Batgirl in Batman: Arkham Knight's Season Pass

Bit more info released by Rocksteady about the season pass content:

Batgirl: A Matter of Family
An all new prequel story expansion in an entirely new location where you play as Batgirl for the very first time in the Arkham series.

The Season of Infamy
Play as Batman in all new story missions featuring legendary super-villains invading Gotham City, with new story arcs, missions and gameplay features.

Gotham City Stories
Play as Batman’s key allies in narrative missions extending their storylines, from both before and after the events in Batman: Arkham Knight.

Legendary Batmobiles with Themed Tracks
Drive the most iconic Batmobiles from Batman’s 75-year history, on custom-built race tracks, each themed to that Batmobile’s specific era. Every Batmobile will be drivable across every race track.

Crimefighter Challenge Maps
Engage in a series of new challenge maps utilizing the unique play styles of Batman and his allies.

Character Skins
A variety of skins from across the eras for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman.

As we fully ramp up development on the Season Pass, we will be sharing even more details on each monthly content drop. We hope you enjoy playing Batman: Arkham Knight as much as we’ve enjoyed making it.
WB Games

I'm still not sold on the pass, but will wait and see if any of this is exclusive or can be bought separately. I need this game NOW!

Re: You Can Play as Batgirl in Batman: Arkham Knight's Season Pass

@BAMozzy "I cannot see how Arkham Knight can be any less of a game than City or Asylum. Rocksteady if anything have earned the benefit of the doubt as they delivered by far the best Batman games ever."

I agree - hence I've had this pre-ordered from day one. What I said was that I hope it is as good or better than previous Arkham's. Playing devils advocate, I could argue that Assassins Creed early games were great, then we had the awful (IMO) AC3. ACBF was great again, then came Unity. Admittedly, Unity got better, but it was a balls-up of a release.

@EternalDragonX
It's annoying, but I'm afraid I'm not boycotting this title. I know many have had this on pre-order since day one (me included), so the inevitable season pass isn't going to sway me on the main game.

I think as others mention, the thing that has everyone wound-up is the price tag. I guess we've become accustomed to a 'normal' DLC price. You have to admit the season pass cost is usually a reduced-cost way to get the first bunch of DLC updates - if you were going to buy them all anyway.

I may be eating my words in a few months when the full content is announced. if the game is as good as I hope, and the DLC does add a lot of additional gameplay (other than skins and challenges), then I may reconsider. My gut-feel at the moment is that I'll pick up the DLC on an individual basis.

Re: You Can Play as Batgirl in Batman: Arkham Knight's Season Pass

Captain_Chao5

@Utena-mobile - "I find Season Passes kind of strange because you're essentially paying for all dlc with no guarantee if the dlc will be worth it, or if you'll even enjoy the game long enough to take advantage of all future dlc."

That's exactly what I did with Arkham Origins, I love Arkham City so paid for the Origins Season Pass on release day. I think I played one of the DLC packs before the game hit the trade counter. I REALLY hope Arkham Knight is as good (or better) as City and that the DLC packs are worth buying.

Re: Warner Bros. Announces Eye-watering Season Pass for Batman: Arkham Knight

Captain_Chao5

Holy <Bat related euphemism> !!! £32.99 for a season pass! This is not good news. I've had this game on pre-order forever and thanks to Amazon's low-price guarantee am only paying £37. There's gonna have to be an absolute TRUCK-LOAD of extra game play content to warrant spending almost the same again on the season pass. Skins and challenge maps won't do it for me. I'll probably look at individual DLC packs or wait for the inevitable season-pass sale.

Re: Review: RIDE (Xbox One)

Captain_Chao5

Okay this is not the review I'd hoped for, but it does mean I was right to hang-fire for the review. As I mentioned in the other thread, it looked visually great - as a static photo. Seems that detail has a cost which is poor performance.
I'm an ex-biker and would really like an off-track bike game that was good. The last one I can remember (excepting the bike add-on for PGR4) is Isle of Mann TT on my old <ahem> PS2.

It really isn't good enough that so many new releases are buggy even after delays.
