@BlueOcean I've been a playstation fan since the age of 9 and this was my user name as I created a push square account first, but I probably play the switch more than anything lately and agree with most people that the last of us 2 was S**T, I'm not what you call "fanboy". Just saying it as I see it.

Let the final numbers do the talking and let the charts do the talking, as at the end of the day the game pass being better means nothing, xbox having slightly better graphics means nothing

Anyway this is good news, really enjoyed the batman trilogy but I missed having the joker around, so hopefully the new batman game takes on a different time line

In all seriousness though I think it's a waste of time going after the Japanese Market as they love their JRPG's and anime games which are only on playstation and lately the switch, plus Japan are more of an handheld nation aswell and are infatuated with Nintendo at the moment that even the ps5 is going to struggle for numbers

I think there's no need for me, I will get the ps5 on launch but thanks to the Xcloud I can play most of the games on my Samsung note 20 when it comes so no need to get one as I can always hook my phone up to the tv aswell to play big screen, hopefully most of xbox X first party titles come to game pass

@sixrings the ps4 won 2020 vs xbox yes but overall I think the switch has both beat to a pulp this year, its shifted more units and it's had the most games in the top 10 every week whilst Sony have had a couple.
If Sony and xbox don't have any heavy hitters at launch then I'm pretty sure the switch will still be the console to have this holiday season.

@DavLFC yeah and it's used as a creation tool on dreams and little big planet and to move cursors in some games and a mouse pad for keyboard typing etc, I don't think it's a neccesity for gaming but does help developers free up space for more button commands.

@experTiger how many ps4 games have you played? As I have played over a 100 and most of them used the touch pad, some were to bring up maps or optional menus and acted as an extra button, some games it was an ability button and in some you could swipe in each direction to bring up different menus and in some it was used as a novelty feature like in persona 5 the cat purrs and meows when you touch it.

@Z3u5000 but the X would be a 1080p console if you haven't got a 4k tv which majority of people don't

@Richnj if you are right and it is a lower end budget machine then is it truly next gen? Compared to the X?

So basically a digital only version like the ps5 has done, getting people ready for a digital only future

@mousieone yeah covid has certainly delayed some future games, some strong launch games are definitely going to needed, imagine a weak launch line up and then hardly any new games in the first quarter of 2021 that would be a disaster.
So far I see a lot of indie games releasing for both consoles on releases and many upgraded ports for games alrwady out such as cyberpunk and the last of us 2 etc

@mousieone i have a feeling silent hill will be ps5 timed exclusive, but definitely not diablo 4 it is too big of a game and literally blizzards top game and sold over 30million on pc alone

@Kmcroc5472 can never see COD or GTA ever being a timed exclusive, they are way too big and make more than enough money than whatever sony or Microsoft could offer them

@mousieone I never said I was trying to help sony, I saw the comments bashing sony and thought I'd point out that Microsoft do the exact same thing with time exclusive content and games.

And yes I fully expected a fight but at the same time I wanted the discussion to stay on topic about timed exclusivity not someone bashing sonys 1st party titles, playstation vr, state of play etc...

And for your information I'm not a troll playstation fan boy, yes I have a ps4 bit also rwi Nintendo switches and I've rthe last few months been playing the Xbox stream app on my phone using my dualshock and fully enjoy state of decay 2 and re-core

@mousieone I came over to defend sonys strategy by pointing out Microsoft do the same and then he starts bashing playstation Vr and sonys 1st party titles and ps now? And Microsoft announced a few times exclusives during their last presentation more than Sony did infact. And Vigor, pubg, back dessert online. And 15 titles already for next gen

@Grot oh I fully admit Nintendo have the best numbers for 1st party sales and will never be beaten, mainly because the lack of third party support and let's be honest if Nintendo went all out like Sony and Microsoft do in terms of graphics and include a blu Ray player then I'm sure sony/Microsoft would be no more

And it was a state of play showing lesser games not a proper presentation, the content for avengers has been confirmed in a trailer released yesterday, Psvr has actually been successful and now go a hitman trilogy VR which looks amazing, nothing will ever be as bad as Microsofts show in May lol and finally microsoft are also paying for timed exclusive games.... Only thing you said with merit was that ps now is sh*t

I honestly don't get how game pass and playstation now benefit big developers, for example let's say the new halo is on game pass, how much money do they recieve?
Vs say selling 5 million copies at £40 each? So £200 million vs game pass money

@Thretosix yes but xbox are still doing it, I watched their show the other day and they announced some time exclusive games just like Sony did. Both companies are at fault here not just Sony, though I'm not a fan of it either especially not for whole games to be exclusive for 6-12 months like final fantasy and tomb raider as the biggest examples but also xbox recently with Vigor and PUBG

@Thretosix are you forgetting what xbox did with rise of the tomb raider? Now that was laughable, forget a bit of content, that was an whole actual game xbox bought for a year of exclusivity. And since then both Sony and Microsoft have been paying for exclusives like its a war

Are those full screen games in the images, I've tried the Xbox streaming app on android and its full screen until a game starts and then cuts a bit of the left side off

C at the most, mostly just cinematic trailers and the halo gameplay looked like a current gen game (graphically)

Hate cinematic trailers, tells me that the game is still far off as they have no gameplay to show

Some of the games towards the end were good but halo didn't look like a next gen game.

This is just to gain some good publicity tbh
I fully believe their show is fully ready to go, heck they even have tv advertising for it aswell

Sony doing themselves no favours this gen, just like xbox did last gen when they first announced you couldn't trade games.

I think this gen will be more evenly contested especially now we live in a world of cross platform online games.

It's going to come down to console exclusive games to settle this gen.
