Is there like a reason for the “supposed” lack of IOS support ??
I’m fairly certain the 8bitdo one works with iPhone, Razer Kishi has an IPhone model, like what’s !?!
@mousieone It's something related to Apple's policies, but we don't quite know what the exact issue is.
This is what Microsoft said back in February:
“To comply with App Store policies, the preview experience on iOS may look and feel different for those who have been testing on Android.”
@FraserG I was reading about on reddit-
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-03-25/google-stadia-nvidia-geforce-microsoft-xcloud-not-on-apple-ios
Apparently because of Apple Arcade.
Thanks for all you do BTW
I'll definitely get something, need something small and portable to carry into work, so the attachment for large controller is probably out...
Now it's starting to look quite expensive!
I'd like something like Razer Kishi Universal Mobile Gaming Controller for Android but as a split Xbox controller.
@Medic_Alert Write a mini review then! 😁
Are those full screen games in the images, I've tried the Xbox streaming app on android and its full screen until a game starts and then cuts a bit of the left side off
@mousieone I'm an iPhone fan, but apple can be stubborn sometimes.
They had issues with the steam remote app when it allowed players to "buy" games remotely and then play them. I am not sure what the solution was in the end, maybe prevent remote purchases?
I expect a version of xCloud that lets you play any game will have to be somehow a separate app from the one that lets you install or buy games for your XBox.
I need to give xCloud a drive, in my experience, all these streaming services have been terrible in my area, but if MS has managed to make theirs work where I live, I might even be tempted to buy an Android device soon. I'm still running an iPhone X and was planning to get a new phone by the end of the year anyways. Just hope I dont ever feel "forced" to buy a Samsung phone... although there is a nicely timed Google Pixel phone coming...
Side note: I'll give all my money to the company that makes a case that makes my phone look like a New Nintendo 2DS.
I feel too lazy to do a good photoshop job today, but I would like something akin to this:
@Tharsman I’d imagine the solution is similar to the way the Xbox app does it now in that it’s a separate mini Web Browser. I’d imagine that also how they’ll have to advertise Apple rules. Make it a web based application of some sort..
I have an X too and to get what I have storage wise in another phone. I’d rather get a small droid tablet.-_______- I really don’t want to be forced into different phone.
@mousieone problem is droid tablets these days are all garbage. It’s basically down to amazon fire tablets (wirh a weird closed system that might not work with xCloud) and Samsung budget tablets. Only one making any decent small tablets is apple with the iPad Mini. It sounds more and more like best choice is buying an Android phone, even if one just ends us using it as a micro tablet and nothing else.
@Tharsman Funny you say that, that’s exactly what I was thinking of doing lol 😝
I'm interested in the 8bitdo one
@Tharsman yeah with android tablets Samsung is really the only reliable choice. Definitely wouldnt go with a fire tablet but the 8" Galaxy tab is pretty decent and you could probably find a used one for $100 nowadays, my kids have one of each very big difference in quality.
I see a Nintendo WiiClassic Controller up there...
@Medic_Alert Great! I'll read it.
