@Banjo- The problem is the past rumors have been true and Microsoft's track record is the fuel for the backlash. You seem to have blind faith in Xbox. Not everyone else here does. I commend your optimism though. Some of us are looking at this from a completely different perspective, hence the differing opinions. I find your comments constructive in the community here overall. While I don't agree with everything, I appreciate your presence and perspective.

@Fiendish-Beaver I hear you and couldn't agree more. I generally am a glass half full optimistic but it feels like all Microsoft wants to do is knock over my drink.

@Fiendish-Beaver It's already happening. Not going to lie, stopping by Push Square to see what they think about possibly getting Xbox games and nothing... Just to find articles I'm not seeing here about games and content that actually interests me. As someone who's been anti Sony for quite a while, it might just be Microsoft themselves that pushes me back to Sony despite what I view as manipulative marketing mainly because it seems like Microsoft is giving up/in.

Look at the front page of Push Square then come back and look at the front page of Pure Xbox. It's clear as day, Microsoft has a problem.

@Banjo- Yes but stating a different opinion makes you a "insert insulting comment about another commenter" isn't stating your opinion, it's attacking a person with a different opinion which goes against the Community Rules. Too bad you couldn't see them but rest assured they were rightly removed.

@DKGXX85 There's some great sites for PC building, even ones that will assist you picking parts so you don't get parts that don't work together. It's really not hard to assemble, it's mostly stick the round thing in the round hole type stuff. I'm sure anyone in these comment could do it. Don't underestimate yourself. The main problem is PC parts for gaming aren't cheap.

@Banjo- I believe some of those posts have been removed because they went against community rules. Not because of their opinion, but because of the choice of words they used while conveying it were inflammatory and meant only to attack those who had a differing opinion. I really think Microsoft has a public relations problem. As someone who's worked in the IT field dealing with Microsoft and the Windows operating system, this problem isn't new. Gone are they days of "I'm a PC" (Windows 7 days). You take what they give you and that's it now. They seemingly could care less what consumers want.

Also CoPilot is another Microsoft problem. Many people don't want it force feed to them (Windows 11 update coming at the end of the year 24H2) and want nothing to do with it. e.g. NFTs in video games. Microsoft needs better PR because people don't trust Microsoft. It's not going to be opt in, you have to find a way out, which makes people trust them even less.

@Kaloudz True, the problem is lately this has been the pattern for Microsoft and their stance is ignorantly thinking Sony is going to do the same. Microsoft is giving everything to Sony with getting nothing in return. With Sony no good deed is returned in favor. They see the weakness and go in for the kill. Microsoft needs to wake up in the area.

@Kaloudz I know it was my opinion. I just largely disagree. You don't see Sony making decisions like this. It's one sided and the ideas Microsoft has is actually giving Xbox users more reasons to buy a Playstation. I won't buy into Sony, but Microsoft has me reconsidering what money I would spend on their products as they are shooting themselves in the foot. I like to invest in companies with good ideas, not ones where you give up to your biggest competitor.

Because a few games on Sony go to PC Microsoft is now going to put a nail in the coffin of Microsoft consoles for me. Lets just get this straight. Sony games aren't coming to Microsoft consoles. This is likely to lose me consumer indefinitely. Microsoft is bending over backwards to the company trying to bury them. After their push against Microsoft obtaining Activision/Blizzard, why would Microsoft ever trust Sony? I'm losing trust in Microsoft's approach to gaming.

Considering the mess Halo Infinite was, Forza Motorsport is still so broken that I no longer have confidence in Microsoft Gaming Studios. It feels like Forza Motorsport is so bad it's just an ad to get a Playstation and the latest Gran Turismo.

@Kaloudz With content Microsoft is producing they are showing consumers they just don't care. While practically doing Sony's marketing for them.

Sounds like it's time to ditch the Series X. It was sorta fun while expectations weren't even close to being met. Bowing down to Sony is the quickest way to lose me as a consumer when Sony has been adamant about eliminating competition.

@Kaloudz I believe the main focus of this controller is the swap ability switching from xbox to playstation style and being able to swap the right thumb stick for a 6 button layout. While I'm not in the market for this controller, I really like the modular concept. The new Xbox controller will have many upgrades, I'm really looking forward to that one as well. I may try to hold out for an elite version, but likely won't have the patience.

Perhaps they should focus on not making half baked games. Games like Forza Motorsport are appearing to be a flop.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe there's ever been some Mandalorian like creed Master Chief took to not remove his helmet. I just always believed they kept the helmet on because it doesn't really matter. I haven't watched the show and it would probably be weird seeing his face, but I don't see a problem with it at all. Though if there's one thing The Mandalorian showed us is that you don't need to remove the helmet to have success, directors and actors just have to get more creative. I do believe even The Mandalorian is getting away from this.

All that being said. How is the show? I have Paramount+, just never had the desire to watch.

@DesertRanger There are a lot of existing external disc drives that plug in with a USB cord. Considering the console runs off the backbone of Windows OS it shouldn't be too hard for Microsoft to figure it out.

@RIghteousNixon I think there was an article a while back suggesting they are coming up with a way verify a disc with out needing a disc drive. My speculation is if they were able to figure this out, there would be no need for the next system to support physical discs. This would also cut down costs of console hardware development and production.

@Banjo- The new Elite controller will likely launch the day after you receive this one. Heh.

This game looks great. Can't wait to play it.

@oopsiezz It seems paying $70+ for unfinished games is a feature these days.

Dear Microsoft. You are getting trounced by Sony. Take care of your in house first instead of pandering to your competition.

If only one of three parts are released with no updates on future content, I'm not sure I'd be interested in a project that may go unfinished. This is my only real concern for this remake. I actually was fine with them completing the game and getting some directors cut of sorts.

Velocity Architecture features promised at launch that are still late to the party.

@Ocat This is the biggest missed opportunity in online gaming. They are too focused on having people fight each other via PvP. I'm guessing perhaps that it is harder to find people to properly play PvE where things may take a group effort to beat content. But I truly believe when they find a better platform for people to play together gaming as a whole will benefit overall. This is the type of news I wanted to hear to try Sea of Thieves after hearing horror stories of people just trying to play the game and being trolled like the old kill steal, spawn camp, or whatever method some annoying veteran/more experienced players are using. They are likely just doing it for fun but not realizing how much they are hurting the game overall and how people will stop playing the game leading to the game not doing well enough to support it.

@themightyant Exactly! This happened to me when a friend recommended a game, got excited when it was available for install. It installed so I figured it was part of Game Pass, only to get home and see that it takes me to the store. I personally don't have limited internet but this is scary thinking about some internet services that have caps.

@TakeItEasy It may as well be. It's not the same game from launch. You can get most of the newer features with the 2.0/2.1. Phantom Liberty is such an overhaul that it can't even be played on the PS4 or Xbox One systems. I personally think and stated before that the content changed soo much it's worth a second playthrough. Even if you don't buy the Phantom Liberty DLC. Nobody said it was a new game.

@ParsnipHero It's awkward for sure. What is frustrating is there is no way to know before downloading unless you go to the store directly. It's 2024 and you can't buy and download a game through the app. Microsoft should be embarrassed.

@ParsnipHero That is because you can buy it and play it. The game is available, just not on Game Pass yet. The app lets you install the game but when you go to play it, the console will ask you to purchase the game.

@TakeItEasy The gameplay has been completely revamped since launch. Other than the story being the same the same it would be worth a whole new playthrough, it feels like a new experience. The poll in this article hints pretty hard at this.

It really seems as though it's not effecting many people. I'm going to be honest and say I have no idea if it's happened to me or not. I'm constantly saving and deleting saves myself. It surely should be fixed, it just seems as though the problem isn't widespread.

Has anyone here knowingly encountered the problem?

I was on the fence with 2025 and 2026 because of Forza Motorsport. Yes I know they are different developers. Though I chose 2025 because I'm hopeful. I'm already done with FH5 and play FH4 because of the overall drab non-desert atmosphere. I really enjoyed the 4 normal seasons of weather.

Christmas was just two days ago. That means at a maximum they put 48 hours into it. Those reviews must be spot on... /s

@GuyinPA75 I think for the most part the fact that you couldn't get an Xbox One when it launched without the Kinect hurt them more than the lack of game support. I enjoyed it right out the box. It was great for Skype at the time through the console and other features like I said weren't necessarily game related. It was very impressive technology at the time.

I really enjoyed the Kinect. There were a lot of cool things to do with it that weren't necessarily game related. Voice controls worked really well for watching movies and such, powering on the system when you don't need a controller.

@EvilSilentFrame After this disappointing year of releases. Nothing was nominated for GOTY. I highly doubt that FTC has any influence on those things.

Don't worry, playing the game wasn't developing for me anyways. I've stopped playing games that only focus on the multiplayer element. I already know the lack of support the game is going to get. Not everyone likes to play in a PVP environment.

I loved Shinobi, Crazy Taxi is great as well.

We also knew we would likely get a GTA6 after GTA5. I'm guessing we'll see RDR3 at the end of this console generation cycle.

Someone tried calling me out in an separate article about how Sony wasn't actively trying to stymie Microsoft that it was just the fans. Well here you go.

@Moby I don't agree with their practices, but it works and they are able to keep making very high quality games that outsell many games year to year because of their profits.

Those clamoring about an updated version of the game on a "pro" console need to look at the history of Rockstar releases. PC will come after the first release on Xbox Series consoles and PS5. Then they will focus on any upgraded console version. If the original release even is in 2025 you are going to be waiting until at least 2027 for any pro version of the game and Rockstar will make you pay another $60-$70 for the upgraded version. I'm sure it will happen, you need pro consoles first as well. GTAV started on the Xbox 360, they made you buy it again on Xbox One which if I remember correctly didn't release until Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, then you have to pay full price again for the Series X upgrade as well.

@HonestHick Easier at that point to just build a gaming PC.
