Re: Microsoft CEO Gaming Division Update: 'We Continue To Extend Our Content To New Platforms'

Isn't there still a strong case for having a console that sits in the living room under the TV?

The portable console really doesn't excite me. I have a Steam Deck but I ended up using it as a really nice Desktop computer (docked) to play awesome indie games on Steam.

I'm not sure about the streaming of GP games either. As someone who loves fighting games, I imagine the inherent latencies being an issue.

I hope we have some technological break throughs where we can still have native games running on consoles/steamboxes at home.

Re: Reaction: Like It Or Not, Xbox Has Gone Full Throttle On Multiplatform

Maybe I am just getting old, but the thought of a platform running from the cloud would just stress me out in various ways. Firstly, the performance. How can I play a fighting game with now added latency? Secondly, not owning the title would have me potentially racing to get through the game before it will inevitably (if 3rd party) leave the GP service.

Obviously, if we are a serious gamer, we need a local machine to run stuff natively. Maybe these 'everything's an Xbox' devices can allow options to download games locally to the device?

Maybe I'm talking out me exhaust hoop. Maybe it's all gonna be alright.

Re: It's Been 365 Days Since One Of The Biggest Releases Of The Xbox Series X|S Era

Was enjoying it somewhat just after the release, but I landed a silly bug where if I aim down scope, the zoomed-in view would be whatever was 180 degrees behind me. So, I'd see an enemy, zoom-in and be looking at mountains. It drove me nuts! As Bethesda are no slouch when it comes to amount of bugs their games carry - I reported it, but the following patch still had the issue. I gave up. Yeah, from what I played, 7/10.

Re: Xbox Reportedly 'Exploring Potential' For Various New Game Pass Tiers

Microsoft have been confusing us for years. First there was the Xbox 360 which certainly wasn't the 360th Xbox revision. Then the Xbox One. Ahem. You mean 3? Then Kinect. Gaming = watching TV... Game Pass. No it's not just one game, but many. So you mean Games Pass? Cloud gaming. Multi-tiered Games Pass where the goal posts were moved and now they want to not only pull down my undies, but rip them off and eat them in front of me. Nom Nom

@Steel76 Warframe still going strong after 10 years. I've been enjoying the game or rather the grind. I really don't mind the grind. I like to jump in for a few runs. I've unlocked a few descendants. Without paying. Either spend money or spend time.

I really like the art style in this, the gunplay too. Also, how slick teaming up with randoms is. I really like that aspect actually.

I think this game has a decent foundation to build on. I don't usually approach F2P games (due to the stigma of the F2P model), but I feel this game, like Warframe, is really generous. Above all, it plays great too.

Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Do You Feel About The Future Of The Brand In 2024?

For me they chop n change too much searching for the next big thing, which is fine, but they just don't seem to be settle and I can't see it settle down soon. Erratic.

This will probably be my last Xbox... but it won't. I don't like the idea of a console-less platform. As long as they keep hardware coming. I will pick one up and GP, but yeah, they're a tad frustrating to support at the minute. Hopefully, they can stick around and keep nibbling at Sony's heels.

I really don't like Game Pass. I get choice paralysis. Recently it's not even like the choice has been good.

Re: Report Claims Xbox Series X|S Sales Have Fallen By Around 15% In 2023

Microsoft are simply playing rope-a-dope here. As soon as Sony make a slip they will come out punching their sales past PlayStation sales using game pass and series console sheer might. I just know it. Bad press is good press and all that. Big Phil Sponzer has the key to Kratos' chest. He will open it and remove the heart. Eats heart and whispers "game pass"
