At what price point would a streaming box actually work? The Series S is cheap enough brand new and I've seen them go as low as £100-£150 second hand. Assuming they had released with a controller this would likely have been £100, so just wouldn't make sense to me.
Even as someone who actually thinks Cloud gaming is great, Xcloud is still pretty poor in terms of image quality and bitrate, just don't see how this would have worked. Probably why it was delayed/cancelled.
Is there a reason all the controllers seem so expensive? Most of them seem to cost around £100 and it just seems a bit excessive to me. At that point you may as well pick up a second hand switch or Switch lite for portable gaming. Especially when you consider the image quality of gamepass.
Pretty crazy they can't include a feature that was possible on nearly all the games in the franchise. All so we can have a half baked live service with over priced skins and little content. Yay
Surely this is some kind of future leverage in terms of Activision games still being released on Sony platforms?
It does seem unfortunate the way Microsoft and Sony are going about this and not just investing in their own developers further (understand easier said than done though). While I think exclusives aren't a bad thing, generally it's better to have games playable across as many systems as possible, for everyones benefit.
@DonkeyKongBigBoy I was mulling it over for a while but I picked it up in the end and it's one of the best games I've played on my Series S so far and that was before the FPS boost. Its without a doubt the best 3D Sonic in my opinion and probably tied favourite of the series alongside Mania for me.
@The_New_Butler Funnily enough, I've got a fake version of that Fiorentina shirt, got it online for about 15/20 quid and it's actually a great fake. Got Batistuta on the back as well, guy was a little before my time as a proper football fan but love how he was loyal to a smaller club even though he was one of the best strikers in the world at the time.
@Richnj I think the problem with comparing Call of Duty games to Nintendo is that the physical prices of Call of Duty drop massively whereas Nintendo games generally don't. Now you could look at this as bad for the consumer but I see it a different way. For example I paid £70 for Advanced Warfare + the MW remaster and £50 for Botw. Now if I was to trade in Advanced Warfare I would be lucky to get a couple of quid whereas Zelda I would get more than half the money back. The preowned market means that you can pretty much get a big chunk of your money back on most first party Nintendo games, same can't be said for other franchises.
@The_New_Butler Yeah pretty much in agreement with all of that, so much of what Arteta does is baffling to say the least. Can I just say it's nice to speak to an Arsenal fan on the internet that isn't just angry we didn't sign all the best players for ludicrous sums of money. Twitter has really skewed how most football fans seem to be.
Will check out the podcast as well, love Alan Davies, so if I can at least get some laughter out of the situation, that's something!
@The_New_Butler It's such a difficult question. I think there are some positives to our transfer business (although the Willian deal last season, lack of sales and Xhaka extension baffle me) as we are clearly looking to build a young squad with potential and the injuries, covid and opening fixtures haven't been kind to us. The worrying thing though is the lack of any real play style and lack of progress as a whole after winning the FA Cup the season before last. My opinion is to give him a bit more time to see if it can be turned around as the next few fixtures on paper are winnable but if that doesn't happen, don't think he can keep his job. What about you?
@Tasuki that is literally not the case though, while the CEO has been caught doing awful stuff in the past, this is the culture of the whole company. When the environment has become so toxic that a woman reportedly took her own life due to her treatment by her boss and co workers, it's not a company a lot of people want to support.
Now I'm not saying don't buy the game, that's your personal choice and I can understand taking that perspective but just thought it was worth pointing out that the situation is a lot more serious than one person "playing grab ass".
It seems to me that they are given out to people who either haven't spent at all or at least haven't bought anything in a while. Which seems a bit of a backwards way of doing it, surely it should be given out to regular users rather than someone who doesn't spend but from their end they are probably trying to increase "conversion" to paying customers.
@Asthmalxrd nope I have the same issue, Stadia has worked incredibly well for me in the past, genuinely like playing locally but never had much luck with Xcloud. It's definitely better than it was but any game that is open world style/bigger maps has a lot of macroblocking.
I just want Sonic Generations to go on sale, it should run on my laptop but for some reason it just refuses to work properly irrelevant of the settings I choose and even with mods that are meant to help as well. Since I've already paid for it once, I don't want to pay as much for it again. Fingers crossed it goes on sale at somepoint this year!
I mean out of the three, ROTK is the best but Third Age is my favourite LOTR game then it would be Shadow of Mordor. Which reminds me I still need to play the sequel.

If any series could have done with scoping down its aims/goals, it's Fable.

As the people above said, Activision can take their Call of Duty and stick it where the sun doesn't shine

I'd prefer if they actually made a decent season of Simpsons again. Seasons 3-8 are some of the best TV of all time.
