@Kaloudz "Will all first party be multiplat? No. Not even close"
Not even close? How do you know? That's wishful thinking on your part. If that were the case they wouldn't need this business update as nothing would be changing from how things already are.
And they wouldn't be the "top cross party publisher" by doing that.
@Kaloudz "Plus if they're going digital only that will make it less appealing than the competition too.
Everyone will be going digital only. That's the direction the market is heading in"
Not really. Physical is doing just fine on the other consoles so can't see them going digital only any time soon. Physical games make up 60% of 1st party game sales on PS5, for games like Death Stranding and Uncharted 4 physical sales are more than 80%!
Even if they're not ditching Xbox who's going to want to buy one when they can get only Microsoft 1st party games on Xbox but Microsoft and Sony 1st party games on PS5? Plus if they're going digital only that will make it less appealing than the competition too.
Yeah they have GamePass but subscriptions have slowed a lot and you can get that on PC anyway. Sony also has PS Plus which isn't as good but still has loads of games on it, more than GamePass. Yeah they're not as new but is FOMO/impatience really enough to sell a console?
I just can't see anything ahead other than even worse console sales and an increasingly fast death for Xbox even if they don't ditch it immediately...
Is there a list anywhere of games only available on the 360 store that haven't moved over? I only know of Jet Set Radio and Daytona USA but sure there's many others
If anyone has trouble buying off the Xbox 360 marketplace, try a different device. It wouldn't let me add payment method from my PC (the loading just went around and around) but managed to buy JSR from my phone browser. Some people have also had luck going through the Xbox Series X web browser.
The fact that SEGA never moved Jet Set Radio over to the current Xbox store and are now delisting it does make me wonder if they might be working on a remake or compilation with JSRF. Since they delisted Sonic 3 and CD due to Sonic Origins.
@Falien It's available but you have to buy it through the Xbox 360 Marketplace website. Then when you search for it from your Xbox One/Series console it gives you the option to install it. I did it myself recently.
It looks really good! I'm glad Microsoft is diversifying it's exclusives. I have so many friends who loved the 360 for Xbox Arcade and various Sega games but they've moved over to PlayStation since. Microsoft need to win back those gamers who like stuff other than shooters and PC type titles.
I would rather have gyro control like Switch controllers than a glorified rumble. Gyro works so well first person shooters so seems crazy we don't have it given there's so many on Xbox.
Picked up Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sonic Generations and Sonic Unleashed. Very excited to play them all for the first time and with Series X framerate/resolution updates!
Now if only Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 would be added to backwards compatibility too.
Well I think the game looks fun and interesting. Looks a bit like Super Monkey Ball. I'm glad some more quirky games are being promoted. Rather that than yet more shooters.
EA must be on crack if they think I'm paying £79 or £89 for any game, holy sh*t, especially not a FIFA game! (Special Edition or not) This deal is no way a bargain, it just puts the price down to what some of these games SHOULD cost anyway.
And as someone new to the Need For Speed franchise (played them for the first time on Gamepass) I found Hot Pursuit Remastered WAY more enjoyable than Unbound. And the music/dialogue in the latter made me want to rip my ears off.
Forza is amazing to look at but I'm just so bad it, I can hardly even turn corners in Forza Horizon 5, lol, so I'll stick to Burnout Paradise Remastered and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered. (I never played the originals so they're new to me)
Microsoft needs to develop/publish more smaller, simple games that can fill the gaps between big releases. Not every game needs to be Halo. Bring back Xbox Arcade and commission more fun but cheaper to produce games like Fusion Frenzy.
It's annoying but realistically you'll be able to find them cheaper at certain retailers and they do at least go down in price over time unlike Nintendo games. Nintendo still charges £39.99 for One Two Switch and £49.99 for ARMS. Two unsuccessful games that came out in 2017
@Craigsouthern I got Watchdog Legion for £8 from CEX the other day and (not Ubisoft) Sunset Overdrive for just £2! This is why I'm glad I opted for a Series X and not S.

Re: Toys For Bob Is Becoming An Indie Studio, Leaving Xbox And Activision
Well Microsoft would have only ended up handing out their games to rival platforms anyway. At least this way they get more creative freedom.

Re: Xbox President's Reported Message To Employees: 'Every Screen Is An Xbox'
@TheLastHarbinger That's the thing, if it's all one sided people will just get the other consoles instead

@swansea_karl I was wondering if Antstream might be a factor in Microsoft killing off retail mode emulation... Timing suggests it's a possibility.

Re: Deals: Xbox Anime Sale Continues With Second Wave Of Deep Discounts (February 15-28)
@NEStalgia Lots of these games aren't anime at all, they're just Japanese! Jeez, no wonder Japanese developers don't support Xbox much.
Re: Pick One: Which Of These Xbox Classics Would You Remaster?
I've long hoped for a Simpsons collection like the Turtles one. Simpsons Cartoon Studio, Krusty's Super Fun House and the arcade game were awesome!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 11-12)
Playing some old school SEGA games at the moment, Shenmue and Sega and Sonic All-Star Racing.

Re: These Games Are Coming To Xbox Next Week (January 16-20)
A Space for the Unbound looks interesting. Looks a little like a pixelated Shenmue aesthetically.
Re: Tunic Publisher 'Concerned' About Subscription Services Like Xbox Game Pass
I usually try out indie games on Game Pass then buy them on Switch if I like them (if available) as these games feel perfect for portable play.

Nothing on my wishlist
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 7-8)
My favourite game of all time, Shenmue. And maybe some Yakuza Zero, which I recently started (my first time with this franchise)

Re: Another Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (January 15)
Trying Danganronpa on GamePass was useful but ended up buying it on a Switch instead for £2.69 on sale as is more of a handheld type game for me.
Re: Soapbox: 'Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3' Is Actually A Pretty Great Mario Kart Alternative On Xbox
@Banjo- @Kezelpaso My bad, I forgot Transformed didn't get a resolution boost like Generations.
I still hope Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog and Sonic 06 will be added to backwards compatibility one day but probably unlikely now.
Re: Soapbox: 'Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3' Is Actually A Pretty Great Mario Kart Alternative On Xbox
I'll stick to Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed with 60fps boost on Series X 😎
