@SatinHell I’d love to see co-op games get more recognition, but as a few of the gaming company leaders stated, solo based games have a higher standing. I’m trying to think of one that made it point, I’m thinking the dude in charge of God of War. Could definitely be mistaken, but after his remark, the other companies agreed. So unfortunately we won’t get as much love towards co-op. But I find it funny how co-op and multiplayer games do so much better…odd
Looks like Cyberpunk. Feels like 80’s-90’s action star movies. But…I’m thinking this might be another Mindseye. Haven’t played Mindseye, but the backlash makes it sound bad. Hopefully that won’t happen here with No Law, but Krafton is involved, and if I remember right, they’re owned by Ten Cent? So I see another GTA micro-transaction clone
I think it all comes down to “highest trend” factor now. It definitely seemed like anything pre-2015 had a “voting” feel. Now it’s whatever got the most attention through social media. Granted that’s more or less how the system works, but if one person famous says the game is good, their followers will tend to agree without really putting in the time to test. A good example is Shroud trying to hype players to vote for ARC Raiders, and his followers just decided to follow suit without testing it themselves, “welp he said it’s good so it must be, this game has my vote…”. No offense to Shroud, dudes a cool player, plenty of skill to boot, but I like to determine what I think is best from actually trying it, than from going by word of mouth. I haven’t tried most of the games voted on this year, but I recognized the ones who trended the most. Similar to what Tasuki said, “better marketing “. I want to play split fiction with my bro, we had a blast with the other titles. Hell I love co-op games, to me they bring the most form of entertainment. I like and play most genres, so I’m not biased in any way. I think what triggered the love for co-op was Double Dragon in the 90’s, then later games like Halo and Army of Two. I guess you can say MMORPG’s soon followed. But after 2015, it just feels like whatever the popular content creators choose, seems to be what gets noticed. I guess you can say the “popular vote” outweighs the masses. But again, this is all just my opinion, from my gaming experience for nearly 40 years(oomph that felt harsh to type lol).
I’ve been a car nut most of my life, same with gaming. Been playing racing games (not all ofc but a lot) since early the 90’s. When Forza came out, I loved it, to this day idk which came out with the drivatar feature, I think Motorsport 2? Loved that, then Horizon showed up… played them all, and I think the reason most players liked 3 best, was the features and gameplay mechanics we still have. Most were introduced then. Horizon 4 was great too, loved the UK vibe. Horizon 5 was great as well, definitely dug the Mexican lore. However, it did seem like almost every custom build for nearly every car was similar. I used to theorycraft my tunes to the point of greatness, I even hit ranked 70 on one map, and top 200 on quite a few, but that’s my point, most of the tunes were nearly the same. Just add a few small adjustments and the results got you in high ranks. Car customization definitely felt, low, sure there’s quite a bit, and licensing can be a pain when using products in your game, but it was more or less than same stuff in 3 and 4. The tracks were nice, no complaints there, the AI was weak, I played the hardest difficulty throughout most of it, but once you got 1st, you’re basically given the win.
As for the “it’s Covid fault”, that one year didn’t affect the entirety of the game, especially when the majority was made years prior. Unless the developer is stating, they more or less built the game in that final year, very similar to Anthem, then that would explain a few things during launch. Hell I remember it was unplayable for almost the first month. Covid did impact businesses, but that excuse was overplayed. Reminds of the South Park episode where Butters went missing, and everyone who had been involved with crimes had said “oh yeah, same here, happened to us too “. But yeah…
