While it's easy to be negative because it's EA, Motive being the developers of this actually leaves me feeling rather optimistic. Battlefront II (once the MTX were removed) was a great game, Star Wars: Squadrons was a well-priced and well-reviewed game that was supported with free post-launch content, and Dead Space Remake is looking good so far. The transparency from the devs on the project is refreshing.
Honestly, this could be realllly good if they're just left to get on with it and there isn't too interference from either EA or Marvel.
@Krzzystuff I honestly expect them to be bought out by Nintendo at some point. Bayonetta 2 & 3, Wonderful 101, Astral Chain. Their strongest games in recent years have been published by Nintendo (save for Nier: Automata).
@K1LLEGAL We know Tango Gameworks is already working on something new for Xbox, and they've been staffing up quite a lot in their Japanese branch. So I suspect we will get a lot of Japanese published games from Xbox in the coming years.
Plus, we've still got whatever the heck that Kojima game is
Maybe we'll see more Starfield? I think last TGS they talked quite about how much work they're putting in to make it worthwhile for the Japanese audience. Otherwise, Gunfire Reborn and more Wo Long footage are probably the headliners.
Crazy prediction would be that they show a first glimpse of Kojima's Xbox game here.
I don't understand this practice. Yeah, this sucks, but it doesn't make the game as it stands any worse because of it. If they'd also released a patch which broke the game, sure. But this announcement doesn't change the state of the game today, so this review bombing just comes across as a little pathetic, really...
Awesome to see! Not sure if you noticed by the way, but Grounded 1.0 is coming September 27th. Don't seem to be seeing much coverage of that, even from Xbox themselves; it's a shame, the game's great!
@palahniukslaughter I imagine with this being the full release of the game that we won't be seeing this at every showcase going forward. I imagine they'll just do smaller content drops from time to time
@themightyant I understand your reasoning, and I totally see why they would be interested in selling, I just don't see why they wouldn't wait. If they hold on selling for a year, they can rake in the earnings from 3 AAA titles, and so they can look to sell them at a higher price and earn them more money
While I'm sure Warner Bros might sell their game division eventually, I don't see why they would do it now. With 3 AAA games releasing in the next year or so (Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League, Hogwarts Legacy) as well as a free to play game in Multiversus, why sell now? Surely they should wait a year and rake in any profit they can from these games so they can increase the potential offers down the line...
Surprised there's not been an article written about As Dusk Falls from Xbox Games Studio Publishing and Interior/Night. It's apparently a part of the Tribeca Game Program this June, and we're seeing a 60 minute demo of the game.
@Would_you_kindly They answered this question in their FAQ. In response to the question "Will I still need a Bethesda.net account if I no longer use the launcher after transferring to Steam?" they wrote:
Yes. Many of our games and services still rely on you to have a Bethesda.net account. This will allow you to retain access to Bethesda.net services including game mods, in-game items like skins, and access to exclusive news and updates.
So the account is still needed for playing games, the launcher just won't be available anymore...
This game seems promising. Going to be keeping close eyes on this one.
By the way, I noticed The Gunk got a photo mode added to it recently, but I don't recall seeing any posts about it on here. Maybe people missed it, but just thought I'd throw it out there.
Interesting move. Wonder if they'll move development over to Creation Engine 2 at some point too; would be a good way to boost the lifespan of the game.

Just a heads up, but I think you mean currency system here!
Re: Rumour: Xbox Initially Planned To Launch 9 Exclusives In 2023
@SinfulDestroyer Exclusive-wise, Sony's 2023 so far is:
Maybe FFVII Remake: Rebirth, but I imagine that will slip into 2024.
(Edit: Forgot about PSVR2)

Re: For Some Reason, Octopath Traveler 2 Appears To Be Skipping Xbox
@cragis0001 That's what I'm hoping for. Would be a great way for Xbox to say to Japan "Look, we get these games too!"

I'm gonna say it sits at around an 87 or 88 on Metacritic by the end of it. Would love it to be higher though!
