You have to consider contracts, pricing, impact on other subscriptions, among a lot of other stuff.

They could have offered better games, but what would the cost of that be? Would that have led to a price increase for customers? Would that have meant fewer people subscribed to game pass ultimate? What would the impact of that be?

Business decisions like this are never easy.

@Lup but Xbox seems to be releasing more games on gamepass over the next few years so you will end up with more games.

@Dan1283 there's no point comparing games with gold with ps plus. They are removing it, probably because they couldn't offer better games with it.

This will likely make sure they can offer a better selection of games consistently.

@Wheatly and most people aren't going to hear this comment from Xbox, and those who do will either not care or care for a few days and then forget.

They are just using it as a clear way to get their point across, and in a way that makes it seem that no matter what happens, they aren't going to "win" so there's no point in stopping them buying Activision Blizzard as they have already "lost" .

And for those constantly complaining that this acquisition is being dragged out and you've had enough of it, just stop following it. It's hardly a life or death situation so if you are fed up, just ignore it.

Glad to hear them speak openly about it rather than pretend it isn't a problem. Makes me more optimistic they are willing to fix the development issues so this doesn't happen again with another game.

Although, as with all statements, this is clearly a carefully worded statement to try to be careful with who they want to blame, but it's still a better statement than many people would give.

Interested in pretty much all the games. Very good presentation for me. This, along with the Xbox presentation, has me very excited for the next few years of gaming.

@Zoidpilot4 you know not everything is a conspiracy? Most people will vote A or B because that is what they think, not because they have a desire for it to beat Xbox's presentation.

Looks nice and extra storage is always good, but I'm happy with my Series S! Still looks great and the storage is enough for me.

But apparently Xbox is failing and Microsoft is going to close it down.

Extremely good for me. Lots of interesting games and many for game pass. Very excited for Starfield.

Obviously we didn't get much actual gameplay footage, and many of the release dates were next year, but definitely feeling more confident about Xbox now!

@AlwaysPlaying I doubt you'll be sending any message. They are clearly happy with this price point considering they have had essentially the same price since Uplay+ launched in 2019. If no one bought it, they would either reduce the price or just get rid of the service altogether.

It's the sort of service that I'll subscribe for a month or two and then stop, which is perfectly fine and is one of the benefits Ubisoft themselves are pushing.

@Kaloudz and leaving the UK would make them lose a lot of customers to the competition, plus leave a bad taste in the eyes of other countries. It would be an idiot move which most businesses would never do.

@ZuneTattooGuy they could yes, but that isn't how most business are run. You don't leave one of your biggest markets just to make an example of them. That would be an ioditic business move.

@Elussya Sorry, but a single country contributing 18% is not minor. It is a significant contribution and Microsoft would be stupid to pull any of their gaming business out of one of the biggest gaming markets in the world.

@Fiendish-Beaver except a lot of their revenue is up. Microsoft isnt going to ditch a brand that makes them an increasing amount of money, and is a significant reason why they are one of the biggest companies in the world...

@Fiendish-Beaver Yet they've just had their 2nd best Q3. Your theory is completely and utterly hypothetical and isn't very helpful. It's like saying "what if PS5s start hurting people". That obviously would be bad for business, but that isn't what is happening at the moment, so it isn't exactly right to make theories based on it.

Already seen plenty of ridiculous comments from people acting as if Microsoft will get rid of Xbox completely or that Microsft will leave the UK. It's pretty clear a lot of people don't understand business.

Microsoft will have always had a plan if the deal didn't go through.

Isn't Xbox still bringing in a lot of money? Fairly sure it was fairly close to how much Windows is bringing in.
