@JackMiller43 If Ubisoft chooses to license the games then theoretically yes, however, Ubisoft+ doesn't have streaming on PS yet. The only streaming Ubisoft games have at the moment are through other companies i.e. Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass and Amazon Luna with Ubisoft+.
@FraserG Although to be clear, there is nothing stopping Ubisoft from releasing them on Xbox Cloud Gaming. Probably just depends on any behind-the-scenes conversations.
Not necessarily. There's nothing in this deal that I can see that prevents Ubisoft releasing Activision Blizzard games on Xbox Cloud Gaming. The only thing they can't do is release them exclusively on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
And to repeat, this is just what I can see and how I've interpreted it. I could be wrong.
It appears to be worldwide, especially considering Ubisoft posted that tweet (or "post" as Elon calls them now) on their worldwide account, rather than on their UK account.
It seems this only includes streaming rights so should still be able to be downloaded on Game Pass. Also, it seems Ubisoft could let Activision games also be on Xbox cloud, just not exclusively.
Can't see anything wrong with this. It was Xbox's plan to license the cloud versions of games to tons of companies anyway. Same thing, just with Ubisoft in charge instead.
I know Ubisoft gets some hate on these kinds of sites, but personally, I really love their games and think Ubisoft+ is pretty good for subscribing to for a few months every so often, specially when new games are released.
My only issue with them is that premium editions of some games aren't available on Xbox through Ubisoft+ despite being available on PC and Luna. I've contacted them about it, but they haven't really addressed it yet.
@Scummbuddy yes it is. It shows it was something they decided on and were happy with ages ago. It wasnt a last minute thing so they did in fact care about it.
Looks very nice and showcasing what a space game is about.
Others may not like it, fair enough, but that clearly doesn't mean the developers don't care. It just means it wasn't made exactly how you wanted.
But this sort of complaining seems to be the common thing nowadays - "the game/show/movie wasn't developed exactly to my tastes so the creaters clearly don't care and are lazy".
But also, who cares? It is a home menu. It doesn't matter.
I do have a feeling that delaying it will just mean that it will get lost in the hype of Spiderman and Mario, and all the other games releasing across October. Assassin's Creed Mirage definitely did the right thing releasing earlier.
@PhileasFragg "it's a sad time" not really. This is how stuff have always worked. Things disappeared a lot quicker in the past. It would be way too expensive and use too many resources to keep everything available all of the time, including the 360 store.
Games have always disappeared, we are probably keeping more games than ever available for longer. That is hardly a sad time.
@somnambulance most of the negative comments I've seen have come from big PS fans, so you can assume it comes down to it being exclusive to Xbox and the console wars.
Will obviously be avoiding spoilers, but I never understand why people are so desperate to hate a game. Some sites have been posting articles why Starfield will be rubbish or why other games will be better for months now.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I agree, never denied that but it is clear in general that from many publishers, fewer games have been released this year. It's not exactly surprising that fewer games would then be released on gamepass.
However, it is clear things are picking up over the next few months, with XBox releasing two big games in the next two months, with many more coming soon.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner It's what almost all businesses end up doing. Do something extremely good value to gain users, then slowly make stuff more expensive/reduce the number of benefits to increase profits. We also have everything getting more expensive in general which will be a part of it as well.
However, game pass will still be good value to most people, especially when your comment about "less games/less AAA added to GP" doesn't appear to be true or at least not a deliberate thing. Many publishers have had a quieter year, possibly as a side effect of development going slower during Covid. From their showcase, things are definitely picking up soon with plenty of day-one games.
@Dan1283 it might get worse, might not. The vast majority of developers have been able to port to Series S successfully. People are focusing way too much on the handful who haven't.
And a lot of people couldn't care less about FPS, myself included.
@lechugajr essentially the same as me. Had Nintendo consoles but decided to get a Series S as it was cheaper. Also just for a PS5 but will happily continue to use Series S due to game pass etc.
The vast majority of developers have been able to make Series S work, yet because a handful cant, some here think the Series S should be scrapped which is a massive overreaction and completely underestimates the power that being a cheaper option has in getting people into the Xbox ecosystem.
@Dan1283 it is hardly pointless. It is a much cheaper way to get the public into the Xbox ecosystem. Yes, it is likely going to face hardware limitations, but it is hardly a massive problem at the moment. Seems many people are overreacting.
Spot on. Some of the posts on social media are ridiculous. They will take every opportunity to show why PS/Xbox is a failure and no matter how many times they are told otherwise, they continue to believe their nonsense.
@AlwaysPlaying If they have kept essentially the same price for years, it is working. You don't spend resources on a service, expand it to Xbox and cloud play through Luna, and keep the same price if no one is signing up. You'd either change the price or stop the service altogether.
@AlwaysPlaying you say that but they have kept essentially the same price since they launched UPlay+ years ago. If people weren't paying it, they would have changed the price by now. It's pretty clear this price is working for them.
@Lucylu1983 Most of those authorisation systems don't actually take out a pound. It normally just stays pending for a while, or they take a pound and return it straight away.
@InterceptorAlpha Yet Ubisoft games tend to sell well and get good reviews. Never understood why people like you are so negative about Ubisoft when their games are good quality and sell well, so people clearly enjoy them.
If you are on about fast travel, you could just choose not to fast travel.
Personally, I really enjoy Ubisoft games and would happily subscribe to Ubisoft+ from time to time.
Really like it. Looks great and I can actually see my background now! Unlike others, the ads don't bother me in the slightest and might actually help me find new games to enjoy.
I really like it. Looks nice and the background is actually visable now! I know others don't like having the extra stuff and ads that we can't remove, but it really doesn't bother me, and will probably help me find more games to play.
Despite both Xbox Series X/S and PS5 being out for years now, it still feels like we are just beginning this generation. We've barely had any current-gen only games which gives the idea that they are being held back by previous-gen consoles. It's why I don't think a PS5 Pro is needed anytime soon.
@Cashews Xbox and Microsoft will have some of the best in the business, whether that is in the gaming industry, the pure business side, or the legal side. I trust them a lot more than random people like you to know what is a good deal or not.
@Cashews utter nonsense. Windows is down much more than Xbox. Does that mean Microsoft should ditch Windows as it makes their figures look bad, and is therefore a drag on branding, profitability, and an allocation of resources?
People loathe plenty of companies. Apple, Google, Meta, Sony PS, yet they still make a lot of money. Companies don't shut down their products because some people loathe them.
Any deal tends to get bad press. ABK is no different. That doesn't mean Xbox shouldn't push ahead with it, especially when the average consumer won't know about the deal or care.
Thank you for confirming what I had already suspected - you don't really understand business, but don't worry, most people online don't yet still feel happy to share their "expertise".
Looks like a much bigger year for them following a relatively quiet one recently. Looking forward to most of these games so looks like I'll be having a good end to the (fiscal) year!
Deserved. Whilst it isn't perfect, it is a really fun and enjoyable game. It captured the magic of the series perfectly and I have loved exploring Hogwarts and the world around it.
Really enjoying it so far. They've clearly copied a lot from Forza Horizon but that isn't a bad thing in my book. It plays really well and the island looks beautiful. Definitely looking forward to the full release in a few weeks time.
It seems the CMA wants to work with Microsoft to get the deal through, and Microsoft is also being careful not to annoy the CMA as they will need them in the future.
Microsoft was never going to do anything that would massively mess up their relationship with the CMA considering the UK is one of their biggest markets and they need a good relationship with them
It seems the deal will be approved, just may take a bit more time.
And please, if anyone is annoyed or frustrated with this (like some on twitter are), just stop reading the news about this acquisition. Yes, it is taking a long time but it is just one big company wanting to buy another company. It isn't life or death. You aren't going to miss out on anything if you stop following it.
@StylesT except that isn't all the £30 gets you, which is why the poll is written is a rubbish way which people are going to interpret in different ways.
@ThatMusicFan exactly. If you don't want it early and don't want the DLC, don't pay. It really is that simple. Game pass and everyone else will still get it the same day that they would have if this premium edition didn't exist.
With the expansion included, probably. It isn't too much money and I'm looking forward to Starfield a lot. However, the 5 days early isn't what is selling it to me. I could easily wait 5 days.
@iplaygamesnstuff all they've done is instead of 2 games a month or whatever, give 25 games at once which are of a higher quality that games with gold. How is that screwing it up?
