If third-parties jump on board for Switch 2, I'll win because MS putting Xbox games there plus that is going to make my exit from the Xbox ecosystem (thus making me a single console owner) very easy.

Well, there goes the red line that I guess never existed.

I may hold off on Avowed for Xbox as it's entirely possible that Switch 2 gets a port.

Edit: Also, it looks like the rumor that MCC is coming to Switch 2 is true. I hope they use gyro because that would be an awesome way to play.

@donv2135 well, data suggests people DO select which console to buy based on at least perceived or actual exclusives. Sony sells plenty of PS5's and Nintendo sells a lot of Switch consoles, while MS has trouble selling Xbox. The former have actual and perceived exclusives. So I'm relying on what's happening now, not some nebulous theory that people who act like they're "unbiased" try to push. People decide which console to buy using a few factors, one of which is, "Which has the games I want that I can't buy anywhere else?" Denying that is just ignoring reality. People have finite time and money. Whatever makes their decision-making easier, they'll use as a metric.

Who'd have thought not having exclusives would mean you can't sell consoles as easily as if you had them?

Better late than never. Which is a saying the internet doesn't know about, or believe in.

I doubt he really wanted it this way, but with their current CEO it's clear this is how it's gonna be at MS.

Again, this is a great way to get people to stop buying your consoles.

I always felt for first-party releases, it's been generally a given that it's play anywhere (sans games that were developed pre-acquisition, like COD but I expect the next one to be play anywhere). Third-party games were the question mark.

It was good. However, I was a little surprised they had PS5 logos on display for the trailers in this presentation.

South of Midnight and Doom SHOULD get release dates, but you never know.

@PsBoxSwitchOwner they're already doing that for home consoles. I guess they figure what's the difference if they have a handheld?

Not saying the decision makes any semblance of sense IF they make a handheld console that they actually want to sell, but that is probably the logic.

I'd at least consider double dipping on Halo: MCC for Switch 2, tbh.

Even with Nintendo consoles as my primary ones, I don't like this move. I'm so far invested in Xbox it still kind of doesn't make sense not to buy the next console. Or I could do what MS is trying to force me to do and game on PC in lieu of buying the next console. Decisions...

Let's hope under MS, ActiBlizz makes another really good Transformers game like War for Cybertron.

Always good to hear about. Can't wait for Avowed to kick off Xbox's 2025, either.

Xbox has not managed a lot of its studios very well, so while the prospect is nice, history doesn't necessarily indicate that we'll get a ton of new games from ActiBlizz (obviously outside of the annual COD) for a while. I'd love to be proven wrong, of course.

If true, this generation (from MS) will be among the most disappointing.

As far as Xbox goes...beat the first three Dragon Age games and Witcher 3.

I've got a decent amount of MS rewards points, but I'm waiting to see how Avowed turns out before I spend them. May get this if Avowed turns out to be a dud.

It got really solid reviews, so that isn't a massive surprise.

Solid 7, so far. Kind of glad I didn't buy it because it's slightly different than I expected.

I think it's a great way to stop selling consoles.

Not really a shocking development since a few PS5 exclusives are from third-parties.

Welp, it's almost time to start playing the first one. I'm still playing through Banjo-Kazooie (at the quiz part so I guess I'm pretty far along, this is my first time getting to that point in the game) and I still need to beat Witcher 3!

I had 240 hrs. My kids played a ton of Minecraft on the Series X over the summer, so that was my most-played game.

Eh, everyone will feel differently about any video game. I'll most likely grab this on sale as the idea of the first-person aspect admittedly throws me off. Not that I dislike first-person perspective (RE7 is amazing and not an FPS) but it just feels odd here.

Good luck making a handheld with Series S specs affordable anytime soon. Though that likely isn't the goal, tbf.

It's kind of surreal that MS owns COD. It's been a while, but that doesn't make it any less strange.

I did remote play on my phone last night because all of my other devices were in use and it really wasn't ideal. I guess I was playing Xbox (natively) and didn't realize it, though...

Feels like they've been driving towards this for a while, but it's weird to see it come to fruition.

Also, Xbox is just the friends we made along the way.

Hope they get what they are asking for because they work their asses off.

Felt like that applied to Nintendo consoles as well, but I know many here don't view them as an MS competitor so I get the inclination to discuss PS, specifically.

@Balaam_ while I agree with you and the person you're responding to to a degree...I feel like the Xbox handheld would be more like a Steam Deck in that it's not really a "console," and thus not really compete directly with the Switch 2. But I can't see the future, so who knows.

$200 is such a wild price to pay for storage. But I guess since I don't really buy games on Xbox (I use MS rewards almost exclusively to buy games on the XSX) I don't have much to complain about.

I got this on Xbox a few months back to show support for a 3D platformer on the console. Started the first game a month or so ago and it's pretty good so far.

I was wondering the other day when previews would drop for this game. Sounds like it could be good, but I'll wait for a sale. Avowed is my next Xbox game I buy at launch.

The Rev-8 has been pretty fun, I look forward to the unexpected updates from the team a bit more.

Constant economic growth is a blight on humanity, in general. Within the microcosm of video games, I still feel that expectation is a bit unrealistic.
