@Millionski well I never called series consoles a failure quite the opposite and they haven’t sold near what ps and switch have. But yeah I’d say steam deck bombed pretty much in terms of sales

@fatpunkslim I genuinely think this thing will bomb badly. Just like if the steam box actually releases. I don’t see a mass market for these things. I may be wrong and be eating these words. We will see. But I truly believe the should be releasing another affordable console . The series consoles have shifted nearly 40 million that’s a decent number imo

@BacklogBrad oh yes I agree but I’ll bet there’s a lot less on Xbox ps and switch than steam. I’ve got experience of steam store and most of it was guff too me

@BacklogBrad a hell of a lot of that 146,000 is shovelware though let’s be honest. I had a steam deck and I found myself buying the same games off steam as I did on the PS5

I can’t see pc players downgrading to a lower power machine and I can’t see console gamers willing to shell out over £1000 as it inevitably will be. As a console gamer myself I just want decent performance and decent graphics at a reasonable price. I’m not interested in 300fps. I’m actually happy with 60 but the news coming out of team blue is the next console will do 4k @120 and that will be more than enough for me 💁

I like the sound of it having proper progression this time. After 5 I got bored pretty quickly having everything thrown at you and this new progression system has piqued my interest in the game again

@TrollOfWar let’s see if the steam box even happens as the news coming out of valve atm isn’t what you’d call positive. They can barely get enough ram to produce the steam deck oled, the lcd deck has been dropped from production and the steam box(if it happens) is going to cost a fortune due to ram prices atm. Xbox are a bigger competitor to PlayStation than steam box

PlayStation should keep their games exclusive just like Xbox should and Nintendo always have. The PC crowd are pretty undeserving of the best franchises in gaming imo 🫣

@Shinato2024 cool. It’s a game I’ve been interested ever since we first heard about it but not being an Xbox owner or pc I never got the chance to try it. Maybe that time is coming then thanks for the input 🫡

I agree. Nintendo would never allow a Mario game on Xbox or PlayStation or Grsn Turismo on a pc or Nintendo. Master chief belongs to Xbox and Xbox only. I also think 40 million console sales is not to be sniffed at. Don’t go pc Xbox keep making consoles I say! Support you’re core audience

@Globo yes I think we all have the backlog problem no matter what platform we are on. I keep hearing about how there is no games this generation and the backlog says excuse me!!? 😁. I recently got 100% on Forza Horiozo 5. That chicken run achievement 🙈. Took me about 40 attempts to win a BR. Never ever playing that mode again! Which game are you most into at the moment. I was loving diablo4 until I started the end game level 300 grind.. man it’s savage! For example, it’s 12.5 billion XP to go from level 1-284.. then it’s another 12.5 billion xp to go from level 284-300. Make that make sense 😂

@Globo fair play. I think that’s what most do. I’m just to anal when it comes to having a complete list 🫣. It’s something I don’t really tell friends or family. My Mrs knows and she rips me for it 😆

@-taco for me mate it’s the whole thing not just the cost. Rarely do all games just run well on a pc whereas they are better optimised for console. Constantly needing to upgrade stuff and getting absolutely spanked in the process. And I love the ease of console gaming. No waiting for drivers to update etc etc. Plus I’d lose access to all the exclusive games like Bloodborne and Gran Turismo which I couldn’t do without honestly. I doubt I’ll ever get a PC for gaming but fair play to those that enjoy it.

@Globo absolutely mate. No mither here! No worries at all. My mate is trying to platinum all the RE games which is a big ask as there is tons of them 😂. Are you a cheevo hunter then? I myself am I trophy hunter to my detriment most of the time. This Diablo 4 grind for the last trophy is killing me but I will get there I promise! I thank Xbox for creating the cheevo system because without it we wouldn’t have trophies either 👍🏻

@Globo I don’t think pointing out the differences is putting one version down over another. It’s just pointing out the differences. And that’s the sort of thing nerds look for really. The amount criticism the PS5 PRO has had from DF is immense. Videos like is the pro worth it etc. But I don’t take offence to that with it being my console of choice, I just accept it and get on with it. You too mate! What games are you playing this weekend?. @Globo I’m really not. I tried to make the point that who would you believe about game perf analysis, some random commenter on the internet or actual tech experts who do actual tests on this stuff. Pretty basic point really. Absolutely nothing to do with PlayStation whatsoever. Then someone made the point of saying if you are looking for the best game performance then you should play on a pc to which I backed Xbox by saying I’d rather game on a series X than a PC. It just so happens I already have the best console around in terms of performance 💁 If someone takes that as fanboying or antagonistic then that’s not my problem. It’s just a fact. Not trying to argue just state facts. I’d much prefer to game on a series x than a PC 100%. Fyi I’ve been absolutely hating on Sony for what they’ve done recently and the proof is over there on PS 🫡. @Gemini53 so you’d risk paying £70 for a game you’re not sure about because you wouldn’t trust digital foundry’s opinion. I think you’re talking absolute rubbish frankly. They mention plenty of games having frame drops and don’t write them off. You obviously just don’t like them

It’s not the future of Xbox but more the future of Ms as a whole. If trends are to continue it looks like the world is abandoning windows in favour of ai. And Ms are well behind in that space.

@HonestHick yes which goes back to my point about this being a cost vs revenue exercise. Less people on the books makes the revenue look better. The problem with capitalism frankly. I’d still take it over the other obvs but we are kind of reaching a crescendo now in the capitalist world. The future for my kids is a big worry for me. What will it be like in 10/20 years time

@Questionable_Duck Xbox did it out of necessity since they conditioned their own users into subs based rental gaming. PS and Nintendo don’t have that problem. PS makes more revenue than Nintendo Xbox and even pc. To me this seems like an exercise to increase revenue over costs but I’m sure they could have shuttered a less beloved studio than Bluepoint. Not sure I’ll ever forgive them for this one. Took me a long time to get over evolution lol

@Balaam_ yes it really is that simple lol. Don’t see how that’s a headline really. Let’s look at the improvements the PRO gives to a game like Gran Turismo 7 for example and its extra gears are clear too see. The RT implementation is sublime which base PS5 cannot do

The dualsense is pukka. I don’t get why you wouldn’t use a symmetrical layout when you’re hands are symmetrical (well unless you’ve had an accident with a lathe or something)

@TrollOfWar no but they’d also be stupid to stop making the SP stuff considering the sales of some of the franchises since PS4 gen. Spider-Man and horizon alone are nearing 100m copies. I guess the idea is to have some MP games like Helldivers that will pay for the SP games we all know and love. Seems a sensible strategy

@fatpunkslim well the bigger reveal at the end was the god of war trilogy remake that is absolutely huge! The 2.5 was a bonus addition to that which isn’t bad at all. I thought it was an excellent showing. And considering the first party stuff we already know of there is going to be too much to buy on PS5 in the near future I’d say. That’s the bonus of keeping first party locked in, people can make the choice of having all the best third party releases plus the first party when it drops. I guess that’s now lost on MS as they have made everything available to any platform devaluating its hardware even more(well except switch it seems)

I’ll be giving FH6 a miss. I got bored with 5 pretty quickly. I prefer competitive online sim racing

So expect another price increase this year then?
