@ILuvGames the damage was already done in the XB1 era. They ain’t going to recoup the costs of all those acquisitions by making software exclusive either. ( although every platform should have them I think ). But when you’ve spent the money they have the suits will want returns. And Bethesda have arguably returned nothing COD is on the decline. Seems the only team doing anything worthwhile is Playground games

Exclusives are important. Sony knew this all along whereas MS seem to have forgotten in the pursuit of making back all the money they spent buying call of duty and Bethesda. One of which is in decline and the other yet to release something big for a long time. Xbox should have exclusives every platform needs them except pc which is just a platform for the gaming nerds.

I’m curious about how batteries affect the Xbox joypad in terms of when they are running out. Do they taper off so inputs become laggy etc. I’ve always used rechargeable joypads so never experienced this method. I have a lot of kids toys about the house that use aa’s etc and they all seem to start getting slower when it’s time for new ones. Is that the case with battery powered joypads

@Gabrie you could also trade them and get a lot of the money back. Or do what I do and build an enormous game collection that will be worth a fortune one day. I’ve been collecting since PS1 and the value is getting astronomical

@Rodimusprime13 didn’t ms already increase the prices over a year ago. I remember a whole load of brouhaha on this site about it. While it’s sad to see how consoles now get more more expensive as the gen goes on I think we had it pretty good for a long time being the opposite. The idea was always going to come to an end at some point especially with the tech industry the way it is now.

But let’s get a bit of perspective here. A decent mobile phone is now well over a grand and all I do on mine is WhatsApp and read game websites lol.

@Millionski well I never called series consoles a failure quite the opposite and they haven’t sold near what ps and switch have. But yeah I’d say steam deck bombed pretty much in terms of sales

@fatpunkslim I genuinely think this thing will bomb badly. Just like if the steam box actually releases. I don’t see a mass market for these things. I may be wrong and be eating these words. We will see. But I truly believe the should be releasing another affordable console . The series consoles have shifted nearly 40 million that’s a decent number imo

@BacklogBrad oh yes I agree but I’ll bet there’s a lot less on Xbox ps and switch than steam. I’ve got experience of steam store and most of it was guff too me

@BacklogBrad a hell of a lot of that 146,000 is shovelware though let’s be honest. I had a steam deck and I found myself buying the same games off steam as I did on the PS5

I can’t see pc players downgrading to a lower power machine and I can’t see console gamers willing to shell out over £1000 as it inevitably will be. As a console gamer myself I just want decent performance and decent graphics at a reasonable price. I’m not interested in 300fps. I’m actually happy with 60 but the news coming out of team blue is the next console will do 4k @120 and that will be more than enough for me 💁

I like the sound of it having proper progression this time. After 5 I got bored pretty quickly having everything thrown at you and this new progression system has piqued my interest in the game again

@TrollOfWar let’s see if the steam box even happens as the news coming out of valve atm isn’t what you’d call positive. They can barely get enough ram to produce the steam deck oled, the lcd deck has been dropped from production and the steam box(if it happens) is going to cost a fortune due to ram prices atm. Xbox are a bigger competitor to PlayStation than steam box
