Re: Ori Dev Criticises 'Senseless Arguments' Between Xbox & PlayStation Fans

ATaco

I just checked PSN and the Ori games aren't on there. For someone who doesn't seem to care where you play your games, he seems pretty happy to not put his games where an even larger number of gamers can play them. I dunno man, he sounds almost salty about Gamepass too. Some people should have their tweets veted before blurting out whatever they're thinking.

Re: Two Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass In Late February 2024

Had to pause my persona 3 Reload playthrough to get through soul hackers. Going from that game to this one really does hammer home that soul hackers feels like a budget game. The gameplay is still there but everything else is just a bit... lacking. From the music to the presentation, it just can't hold a candle to reload.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of Palworld On Xbox Game Pass So Far?

ATaco

Looks and runs better than Arceus, ZING!!

But seriously, it's in early access and it shows. The game crashed straight to dashboard like 4 times yesterday but even then it's been both a fun and interesting experience. I doubt the game will have legs for me unless they continue to update it and the novelty of squirrels with machine guns will wear off but honestly this is a pretty good balance of Pokemon and Ark, which to my knowledge hasn't been done before. Doesn't exactly cater to people who solely prefer one or the other but it's a solid little experience. I gave it an 8 and would probably give it a 9 if graphics and frame rate issues are patched.

Re: Palworld's Crazy Demand Is Causing Issues With Creating Multiplayer Worlds

Somehow the developers said "Let's just throw everything in from every popular game" and it wound up working. Something tells me even they didn't expect this to be as big of a bit as it was but it really is a more approachable Ark game. As someone who has played a lot of Ark I do miss some of the more complex strategies for catching beasts that that game had but appreciate the simplified approach of this game and how easy it is to automate your base. Though the sheer absurdity of a squirrel sitting on my head firing a submachine gun at my enemies is definitely a new experience for me and I love it.

Re: Persona 3 Reload Prepares For Xbox Release As Pre-Install Goes Live

@Kaloudz
Well, I guess it kind of depends what platforms you have available. If we're sticking solely to the Xbox then at this point I might skip out on the original version of persona 3, or portable for that matter, and start with Persona 4 Golden. Then play Persona 5 Royal if you liked golden and finish up with Persona 3 Reload. Each of these games are enhanced versions of the original with more content and better quality of life, so I don't really see a reason to go back and play the originals. Luckily all the games are essentially standalone experiences, besides very minor references or easter eggs to earlier games.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Like The 'Modern' Assassin's Creed Games?

ATaco

Not really, though I did play through the entirety of Valhalla. I just felt like I was running through checklists the whole time, sure there were small dopamine rushes here and there but ultimately it simply dragged on too long. Now it seems like Ubisoft doesn't know what to do with the series since Mirage wasn't exactly a return to form for them.

Here's my advice, completely rip off the gameplay of the Hitman games but make it unique by adding all the parkour elements and abilities of the assassin's creed games. Make stages large replayable sandboxes with targets that you can kill in multiple unique ways, taking different paths and triggering different events that unlock different areas to carry out your assassinations. Bring stealth back in a meaningful way, reward creativity and careful planning.

@CutchuSlow
That's exactly what I do, I actually try to get through every (or as many of) the "leaving soon" games before they exit the service. I haven't bought a new game since Tears of the Kingdom forced me to on the switch (which is the only Switch game I've played all year). I'm really getting a ton of value out of the subscription services and am also discovering awesome new games I wouldn't have tried if I had to actually pay for them (Shout-out to chained echoes and before that Eastward!)
