As mentioned elsewhere on Pure Xbox, Microsoft has announced its latest earnings report today for the quarter that ended March 31st, and the company has revealed some record-breaking results for the Xbox brand in the process.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took part in an earnings call following the report, revealing a whole bunch of milestones that Xbox achieved during the quarter - including a claim that Xbox was the top publisher on PlayStation for pre-orders and pre-installs during that time period. Here's a snapshot of the milestones that he mentioned:
Now, the PS5 part of this doesn't come as a massive surprise considering we highlighted Xbox's dominance with the likes of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Forza Horizon 5 and DOOM: The Dark Ages back in late March, but it's still quite an achievement for Xbox to become the top publisher on a so-called "rival" platform.
Whether anyone likes it or not, this level of success means Xbox is very likely to bring its entire first-party catalogue over to PS5 in time, so don't be surprised if the likes of Halo and Gears of War end up on that console before long!
