Microsoft CEO Announces 'Top Publisher' Milestone For Xbox Games On PS5

I am glad that MS is being the "bigger man" and promoting freedom of choice of platforms. I feel that exclusives do not unify gamers and that games should be available on as many platforms as possible. As a consumer this is good no matter how you look at it. The increased revenues across platforms allow them to keep funding their studios to make the games.

Whether anyone likes it or not, this level of success means Xbox is very likely to bring its entire first-party catalogue over to PS5 in time, so don't be surprised if the likes of Halo and Gears of War end up on that console before long!

Astute observation😉, and I'm good with both points I.e. I don't dislike Microsoft's multiplatform strategy nor am I, or, would be in the slightest surprised to see the games mentioned on Sony and Nintendo consoles.

I'm long past the notion of exclusivity being the driving decision when choosing my main gaming platform/ecosystem.

I'm all for it. It's clearly working for MS, and it's clearly working wonders. This can only mean that it will work wonders for us gamers. Really glad to see this.

Halo Infinite would get a new life and to be honest I feel it was a bit underrated on Series XS.

More money for XGS = less layoffs and more great games for us Series owners, regardless of what other platforms the games are on.

They've found a way to compete with Sony and Nintendo that works for them and their studios, and I get to play great games, all good here

I think that means not only halo or gears will go, but more importantly all new games will be day 1 on PS. This year we had only 2 xbox exclusives out of 7 games announced so far (and more to come later in the year).

I bet next year and after there will be no exclusives on xbox at all

End of the day does it really make a difference if Xbox former exclusives go to playstation? It doesn't make a difference to the game we are playing ......if Xbox is taking in big bucks from playstation...then that means more games developed and more games on gamepass day one

@themightyant I think (for me at least) if game pass stays day and date on whatever x console they make I’ll always prefer Xbox console over PlayStation. My personal presence. I am happy they’re making money. It’s great for their future plans. Also it’s really funny seeing the die hard Sony people try and trash Xbox game on PlayStation. The internet is a weird and scary place haha

@themightyant we will see, if xbox makes a portable console where you can play console games and pc games with steam and all others, people would forget Sony

@NeoRatt They are a 3rd party publisher. Why would a 3rd party publisher cannibalise their own sales?

They are doing this because after 4 and a half years, series x hasn't even passed 7 million sales, it isnt from the goodness of their hearts, I'm afraid.

Surely putting the price up on series x will help lol?

@x3King84 No it wouldn't. Nobody is askimg Halo Infinite. Or are they going to start up thart 10 year plan that was abandoned after a 1.5 years???

The millions of people that abandoned Xbox the past 15 years want te classic good Halo games and nothing more. I don't, Bungie is overated and trash. I didn't like the cartoony Halo games 2 decades ago and I don't now either. Halo Infinite is a perfect example of a dead failure Live Service game. Xbox does them too.

They are doing this to make sure their gaming unit is as profitable as possible. Sales of their games on other platforms are ensuring high profitability on the games they make.

@themightyant the rog is not an xbox portable, it s a low spec pc, it can play some pc games and not in the best way. People stragle to understand that xbox pc has barely 20% of the games xbox has on console.
Whatever happen I hope a day they release an xbox os for desktop, handled, i would even put it on tablet.
I would prefer to use a pc as a console, instead to buy redundant hardware.
I m not fan of windows when it come to play videogames.

@themightyant I said the number of games on xbox pc is about 20% of xbox console, i didn't talk about game pass. Example i wanted to buy khazan for pc, i did it on steam cause xbox has it only on console, it s like this for a lots of important games and almost all retro compatible games are not there. Example i own 1000 games on console and only 300 of those are pc. Generally the situation of xbox on pc is horrible.
