I played the base game on 30 fps, so now it was a welcome surprise playing this with better graphic options. The sweet spot for my setup was 60 FPS Target with Visuals prioritized and VRR on (i have an OLED VRR TV). There were framedrops at specific areas in the world, but still it runs much more smoother than the 30 fps mode and with good visuals. No way this is a 5 for me. I think that's another miss from PJ. I used to like his reviews, but there were many of his game - reviews which i would politely say were "misses" such as Suicide Squad (got 8 here! - tried the game and it was crap, more like a 4 for me), High on Life (got here 4 - i 100% the game and its dlc and i found it great, more like a full 8+ for me), Hellblade 2 (got 7, metacritic is at 81, i 100% it also, more like an 9 for me) and now this dlc got a 5. Anyway, playing a game is always the best way to see for yourself if you like it or not. PS.: A tip: if you find it expensive for 29,99 € from the xbox store you can buy the Steelbook Premium Upgrade which includes the DLC code. I bought it months ago for 13 €. I checked the stores, they sell it in the price range 8-16€ which is a good deal if you want to play the dlc of course.
No logic on that. I live in Europe and the base price in my country will be 799€. If somebody wants to buy the vertical stand and the bluray drive the final price will be € 949.99. The price for what it offers and without any games to support this project contradicts the purpose of buying a console. In this price someone can look for a PC. I wouldn't be surprised if this will be probably the last PlayStation console being ever released.
More square enix games are coming to Xbox. Of course games need porting/optimizing for each platform and especially on Xbox since they offer two models (one weaker also; the XSS), so that needs some extra time. Will they be released also on gamepass or not? We 'll see. Square enix stated several times they changed their strategy, after the last entries of Final Fantasy (16 and Rebirth) have flopped by being only PS5-timed exclusive. Look for example Nier Automata (and great game in my opinion) a smaller title where square was publisher selling around 8 million copies (or even more now) by being on every platform. Square enix tried the timed exclusivity way with Sony, they saw it doesn't work, so legitimely they are going 100% multiplatform. Of course it will be better for them since their games will be available to a wider audience. I can't hear BS that their games don't sell on Xbox, since Square enix hasn't yet announced their exact sales of FF7 Rebirth and FF16 on PS5... and it's actually what has driven them again to go multiplatform...
@Widey85 hmm ok. Didn't know that. It looks that the developers kind of contradict themselves. They said other stuff a couple of months ago, now they say other stuff.
It's a small indie or AA release. Looks to me similar to Flintlock (since it has more vidid light colors). I wouldn't know this game if this fuss didn't happen and i think the market is oversaturated with "soulslike" games the last years. However the devs said that they have the xbox series X/S versions ready to release and it somehow "stuck" on the release process on the Xbox storefront. I guess Xbox should communicate and approach the developer and make the process faster. I am not interested too much on the game, since i played too many souls/soulslike games lately and the backlog is growing, but there is an audience for this genre, so they should find the problem on the process and optimize it.
@themightyant I guess we will see for sure in the next months what's going on. Either way, it's not some Xbox sites that claiming that, but 1 of the biggest gaming websites (IGN) and one also big one. I don't see any reason for the websites to hate on the game. Even IGN gave a good grade on their review on the game. So, an exclusivity deal is definitely not out of the table. Lack of marketing in this case could be out of various reasons, such as a last minute deal, potential bad advertisement, reputation for the game, financial reasons, or either has to do with the situation on sony right now ( change of leadership, concord release, no real roadmap, games lineup), or even that they didn't expect such success of the game, contractual terms (don't forget the developer studio resides in China) or a combination of these reasons.
@themightyant please don't paraphrase what I wrote. I said alot. See Callisto, foamstars for example. Even stellar blade didn't have the same huge marketing as first party titles. We can never be sure, but when two big publications claim that, there is a high probability that is true. Why do you have a problem if at the end is a third party exclusive?
@DarkTron he's a fake neutral I would say. He criticized Xbox heavily the last years, although he didn't do that for PlayStation and he has almost not covered switch at all. Even on a quick search I could quick find at least 10 very negative articles of him with negative critic on Xbox. So, yes he's antixbox in my opinion. Same with IGN. @themightyant Sony hasn't also marketed other third party exclusivity deals they had a lot. Actually sony almost didn't market anything lately. If the game comes to Xbox soon, it was probably some technical issues. If it takes months, it's probably a third party deal, being closed at the "last minute" and that would also make sense why there isn't marketing on behalf of sony. About the other scenario: Other similar games were super optimized as Lies of P and played super smooth also on the S day one. Neither sony nor game science commented / declined an exclusivity deal though. I guess we will find out soon
Well, we can never know for sure, but the fact that two big anti-xbox and ps pro websites like ign and Paul Tassi confirmed that looks that is probably true. It is also logical since when the game first announced, it also had the Xbox logo on the trailer. After on the summer fest the Xbox logo on the trailer was already vanished, making some people wonder why did that happen? And now they claimed some technical issues, but still no Xbox logo with tbd for example as date? I am leaning more to a shady timed exclusive deal since PS is in a weird spot right now with their games line up, but I guess we will find out eventually.
@BlueSheepz honestly I am not a big fan of final Fantasy games, but I am happy that they will come to Xbox as Square Enix mentioned many times already with their new multi platform strategy/approach and Xbox fans of the series can get the games on their Xbox. I have friends that they purchased a PS5 explicitly to play the last games of the series. Third party developers should release their games everywhere possible and not limit their customer number, to maintain their business and be successful. There were also games of the entry that did quite well on Xbox such as FF14, FF15 for example. All these BS that they don't sell on Xbox are from the usual haters / ps fans writing every day on push square and showing up here on the comments' section on every negative Xbox rumour / news.
Just before a new gaming event, gamescom this time, where Xbox is again present and PS is totally absent, we get some negative Xbox rumours and get people's attention there instead of the announcements of games and news from the gaming event. I guess MS and Xbox should take the Valve's approach with "leakers" and "rumours" and stop playing around. These rumours positive or negative only harm the brand and nothing else. It could just be the doom 1+2 update or a title like outer worlds 2 or a smaller title. So, actually a big nothing burger. I don't believe these rumours until I see official statements. And of course all the casuals on pushsquare writing there on the comments' section every day and night, show up again to express their hate on Xbox, how they love their ps, etc, taking for granted some unconfirmed rumours that a guy has posted on Twitter...
First of all who cares? As long the content is good of course. Developers might use AI to assist them in some tasks to be more performant, that's absolutely fine if they do it right and smart and use it only as a helping tool. Second, is this a coincidence that this report comes out the same day that the first COD game hits gamepass?
I finished the game yesterday. Game is good, but not very good or perfect. Gameplay was fun and the combat and that's why I decided to play it and stick with it and finish it. However the graphics are just ok and the story not so interesting to me. I also had some difficulties at the final boss and plus because of a bug I had to repeat him 😫. It's like a 6 or 7 max to me.
It's a good game. I left it at normal, although i had played some "souls-like" games and i am not a "souls-expert" and it's challenging at some encounters, but doable. Not a great game, definitely not a bad game and despite its flaws i had a lot of fun playing it yesterday. Graphics are ok, story is not so interesting, but the gameplay is fun for me and hits the spot. Not a traditional soulslike as it has some other elements, like platforming, etc. I went to it with zero expectations and i had a good time with it so far. Just try it, it's on gamepass and see for yourself if it's for you.
@Westernwolf4 haha, i am on the same boat here 😅, so probably it will hit gamepass. I bought and currently finished the game on my Switch (but still playing it for the extras). However even if it hits gamepass, i won't regret it. It's such a fun and great game.
Someone gives you a present. OK, they kind of nerved rewards and the present might be a bit smaller, but i am still getting many points either from searches on Edge/Bing or from playing games on Gamepass and i use them to buy some games or DLCs on an sale. We are a bit spoiled from xbox from all these "goodies" actually. We shouldn't complain for still getting rewards to buy free games or subscriptions 😅.
@DaddyDuder Yes, I remember this one 😅. I used to follow them, cause I liked these tech analysis and stuff, but not anymore for the reasons I mentioned before. There are also other smaller YouTubers doing the same without being biased.
I considered Digital Foundry to be unbiased and fair, but not anymore. I think they chose their side. I think they support PS5 and they are biased against Xbox. In general, it's true that some third party at the beginning of the gen for various reasons were running better on PS5 (dev kits delivered earlier, developers have PS5 as priority, because of the users' numbers, etc). However, later that has changed and they are also many games running much better on the XSX. I have noticed that DF really stressed it when a game runs better on PS5, but they don't do that when a game ran obviously better on the XSX and they have comments like, "yeah it's only some frames, it's not so important, however it doesn't destroy the experience" . Another point is that i noticed that they had many times selected video chunks of a game that run better on PS5, where the same game ran in another area of the map better on Xbox for a reason (has to do with the architecture of the systems? game optimization, i don't know). An example was Cyberpunk 2077. They stressed it there the fps drops on a XSX and that it runs better for PS5 for the current patch version, but they didn't show other map areas in the game that the XSX version was better (i checked Analista De bits video). Anyway, most of the times the differences are minimal and i don't think anyone will play the games side by side on XSX and PS5, but i'd like to see it mentioned more from the media when some games run better on XSX.
@Ilyn Well, we can never truly know. But also Microsoft's answer was foggy and indirect implying about a deal: "We can't comment on the deals made by our partners with other platform holders, but we remain focused on making Xbox the best platform for gamers, and great games are at the center of that.". It could be timed-exclusive in my opinion but also a development / skill issue of the developer, optimizing the game on a lower Specs hardware as the S. But still instead of the problems remedy had, they managed to deliver one of the best games visually and in graphics also for S day one running smoothly. Another example is Lies of P. The best soulslike game. Really good graphics, day one also on the S running smoothly.
@Mustoe Makes sense for first party games. You get all consoles to have access to all the games. Makes zero sense to me for third party studios. Should be available everywhere
@Mustoe Never say never. Callisto Protocol a AAAA game founded and helped by Sony in development was said that it's very unlikely to come to Xbox Gamepass. Well, guess what. Look it at the additions of Gamepass this month. Kena, F.I.S.T and many other games, PS timed-exclusives came to Xbox after all. I wouldn't be surprised if Stellar Blade one day all of sudden shown up available for Xbox or the next Switch after two years for example like Kena. I understand the timed-exclusivity, but Sony is the one here playing dirty. Probably a timed-exclusivity deal for Wukong is under the table, since their roadmap first party wise looks very dry. Xbox buys studios and still releases the games everywhere, like DOOM, Diablo, COD. I am not taking anything personally. I just believe these third party deals are bad for gaming since less gamers have access to a game, which means less profits to the developers also, with all the logical consequences for the financial status of a studio. Especially when a game releases to the other platform after 2 years, when the hype is done and most people play the newest games.
The minimum pc requirements of the game are less than the Xbox series s (at least CPU, GPU wise, RAM not, but I don't think this is so crucial). The developer didn't specifically mention Xbox series S, they had a very abstract optimization excuse. So, I hardly believe they optimized the game for a pc with lower hardware stats than S and not for S. Chinese companies are not so small, some startups start easily with 400 people. Game science has 100-250 people according to internet info and the game was years in development, so they had the time to optimize it. If you sum all this up, logically it smells like a slimmy timed-exclusive to me. Similar thing has happened with Stellar Blade. It was also for Xbox on one trailer and then Sony moneyhatted the game to be exclusive (or timed-exclusive 🤔 perhaps) to PS5.
@Foxx_64740 Yeah, that's so true. I actually noticed after a friend told me that some people are playing the "double agent" here. I mean it's absolutely fine having both consoles or all consoles, it's a hobby after all. But there are some people coming here showing a polite face to Xbox pretending to be cool and neutral or even trolling and bashing Xbox constantly and next they go to the blue site praising ps and bashing Xbox there. So, if you guys aren't interested on Xbox why do you come to an Xbox news oriented site, spreading fire and hate? Personally I have zero interest on ps and their IPs so I don't read a ps website, or I wouldn't go there writting Xbox is better or whatever.
I guess Tom Warren will go and apologize again afterwards like last time right, when the rumours turned to be wrong? Why are all these negative rumours come out before an Xbox event? I don't believe anything and don't follow any of these "insiders". Let's see the event and the official information and games that are coming
@Darude84 High on Life is great in my opinion. I had so much fun with this game and with its special humour. If you like Rick and Morty, you are definitely gonna like it. I 100% the game on gamepass and i liked it so much that i bought the bundle with the dlc, when it was supercheap. Definitely a miss on this review from this site. To me it's more like an 8/10. Anyway you can try it and see for yourself.
I finished so many games lately. After i finish a game most likely i delete it to make space for others. Well Forza Motosport stays there since months. It's a game i play consistently. It's a fantastic sim racing game. In my opinion the best out there. Maybe it had some light issues when launched, but the devs listened to the community and they even release patches / updates often according to the feedback to improve the game. It's really crazy! No matter what people say, i think it's a great racing game. Awarded as best racing game of 2023. Don't forget that! Personally my only complaints with the game were its size and that you couldn't skip training before a race. Well guess what, Turn 10 listened to and in previous updates fixed both, reduced the total install size and added the option to skip the training session if you didn't want to.
That's great news! Although, personally i am not really interested on these square titles, i am really happy that some friends of mine or xbox owners will have now access to these titles. Now, let's see if the internet will keep the same negative energy for PS as it did for Xbox now that PS lost in a night all these exclusives.
There are many good games right now out there and Xbox has the luxury to filter out some bad ones or some shovelware and add some more good games instead of everything. There are many good indie games already on GP, plus soon ABK games are coming to the service, plus some other of their games, plus some AA or AAA third party titles. It's good to say no sometimes, and add some good quality indie titles instead of everything. I don't see a problem on that.
It's a win win for xbox. Xbox doesn't need to do anything, in my opinion. They have the games. This ps5 pro version looks to me that it has this "sony fragrance" on it, that sony has lately with their products. No matter how good the hardware will be, i think it's destined to fail. Look at other hardware than sony released recently. PSVR2 ? They official paused the production. PS Portal? Haven't heard anything about it lately. New ps headphones? Dualshock elite for 250 €/$ ? Most people need many and good games to play to affordable prices. Also, in previous gens the middle - gen consoles sold only a smaller percentage of the total market sales which proves that. Gamers don't need extra hardware with no new games. There are some hardcore fans that are going to buy it or even "kill" their "old" ps5 on ebay or other marketplaces first and then buy it to have the best hardware which probably will play for 99% of the games the same version as the base ps5 version, cause most developers and studios won't even bother releasing another version of their game for the pro version. It's good though for people owning an xbox and looking for a ps5 because they want to play some of their exclusives, cause if and when this pro version is released, there will be some people selling their used ps5 base models very cheap.
I actually really enjoyed the game. It's my GOTY for 2023. I did all the achievements also and i am excited for its first DLC. I don't understand the hate this game is getting. Also, even the game is getting some awards, people feel the need to downgrade them. Why is that? I wonder. Most probably because some people expected something else from game and wasn't their cup of tea (which is absolutely fine) or because negative news are giving more clicks i guess, and that's why many sites/reviewers were bashing the game? I saw people playing this game for 400+ hours in steam and left a negative review. How is this possible to play a game for so long if you don't like it? I would have dropped it max in the first 10 hours if i didn't like it. That's why i don't trust reviews, most of them are either biased towards/against a platform or based on subjective opinion. More or less, why should i? I had over 2 thousand hours of gaming in 2023 (i guess much more than the average reviewers), i can make my own opinion. If i like a game i play it, that's it.
Very successful. Got 4 let's say bigger games like Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, Starfield, Forza Motorsport and a ton of good games in all categories in Gamepass. Had the chance to play Atomic Hear, Wo Long, Lies of P, Fifa 23, Dead Space Remake, Gotham Knight, Jusant, etc. Also, so many day one Releases in GP. So many good indie games (cocoon also best indie of the year candidate). I don't care what everybody says, but even Redfall which had a rough launch is a pretty good game now. I even had friends, life ps fans, buying an xbox for the first time this year to play starfield and they were really happy with it. They found the right path in Xbox, heard the fans' feedback about 2022 and its lack of first party games and i think they are gonna keep rocking hard in 2024.
@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah, you are right about it. 👍 You can play 2 player co-op the main campaign, but only the other mode 4 players. But now the progress carries over for the guest also. I don't know if it has to do with one of the latest patches of the game, but the game specifically asked me if i wanted to replay a mission that i have done on my friend's game as a guest or marked it as done and go on
@Rioichi yeah, i don't know at which state the game was, when it was launched. 🤷♂️. I played it after it came to gamepass and it was pretty solid in a technical aspect of view and fun also. I just talked about my experience with the game. But isn't it with most games nowdays that they are released pretty much half-baked and they fixed them afterwards?
Hey Dan! I actually don't agree with you on this one. The game is actually very good! I hesitated at first trying it, cause i read the critics and i thought the same as you. Sure, the game has some technical issues, maybe it's not perfect but is super fun! It also doesn't try to be a new entry in the Arkham series. The game is different. You can play it single-player but also co-op (2 players the main campaign and up to 4 people some other activities). I tried it on gamepass and i liked it so much that i 100% it! Playing solo is super fun, but when a friend joined me, we both had a blast with the game. Sometimes it's better to try a game and have your own opinion.

Great DLC, I finished it and really enjoyed it as the first one and of course the base game. Alan Wake 2 was such an amazing experience!

And of course all the casuals on pushsquare writing there on the comments' section every day and night, show up again to express their hate on Xbox, how they love their ps, etc, taking for granted some unconfirmed rumours that a guy has posted on Twitter...
Re: Report Claims Call Of Duty Has Sold AI Generated Content Through In-Game Store
First of all who cares? As long the content is good of course. Developers might use AI to assist them in some tasks to be more performant, that's absolutely fine if they do it right and smart and use it only as a helping tool.
Second, is this a coincidence that this report comes out the same day that the first COD game hits gamepass?
Re: Poll: What Do You Think Of 'Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn' On Xbox So Far?
I finished the game yesterday. Game is good, but not very good or perfect. Gameplay was fun and the combat and that's why I decided to play it and stick with it and finish it. However the graphics are just ok and the story not so interesting to me. I also had some difficulties at the final boss and plus because of a bug I had to repeat him 😫. It's like a 6 or 7 max to me.
Re: Review: Flintlock: The Siege Of Dawn (Xbox) - New Game Pass RPG Hurt By Its Own Ambition
Re: Rumour: Indie Hit 'Dave The Diver' Set For Xbox Game Pass Launch This Month
@Westernwolf4 haha, i am on the same boat here 😅, so probably it will hit gamepass. I bought and currently finished the game on my Switch (but still playing it for the extras). However even if it hits gamepass, i won't regret it. It's such a fun and great game.
Re: Talking Point: Xbox Fans, How Are You Getting On With Microsoft Rewards In 2024?
Someone gives you a present. OK, they kind of nerved rewards and the present might be a bit smaller, but i am still getting many points either from searches on Edge/Bing or from playing games on Gamepass and i use them to buy some games or DLCs on an sale. We are a bit spoiled from xbox from all these "goodies" actually. We shouldn't complain for still getting rewards to buy free games or subscriptions 😅.
Re: Digital Foundry Explores Why Some Games 'Run Better' On PS5 Than Xbox Series X
@DaddyDuder Yes, I remember this one 😅. I used to follow them, cause I liked these tech analysis and stuff, but not anymore for the reasons I mentioned before. There are also other smaller YouTubers doing the same without being biased.
Re: Digital Foundry Explores Why Some Games 'Run Better' On PS5 Than Xbox Series X
Re: Reminder: Five Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass This Sunday
I finished FIST and it was a very good game. Very challenging at some areas but was fair. Really nice platforming, fighting and movement.
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
@Mustoe Makes sense for first party games. You get all consoles to have access to all the games. Makes zero sense to me for third party studios. Should be available everywhere
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
@Dan1283 Yeah man, that's a more healthy approach.
Re: Microsoft Makes Statement On The Xbox Delay For Black Myth: Wukong
Re: Report: Xbox Is Working On A Halo Remaster, Also 'Considering' PS5 Release
I guess Tom Warren will go and apologize again afterwards like last time right, when the rumours turned to be wrong? Why are all these negative rumours come out before an Xbox event? I don't believe anything and don't follow any of these "insiders". Let's see the event and the official information and games that are coming
Re: Two Square Enix RPG Get A Surprise Release On Xbox Game Pass
Xbox and gamepass is really killing it. So many good games added , so little time 😭!
Re: Five Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass In Early June 2024
@Darude84 High on Life is great in my opinion. I had so much fun with this game and with its special humour. If you like Rick and Morty, you are definitely gonna like it. I 100% the game on gamepass and i liked it so much that i bought the bundle with the dlc, when it was supercheap. Definitely a miss on this review from this site. To me it's more like an 8/10. Anyway you can try it and see for yourself.
Re: Pick One: What Was Your Favourite Xbox Game Pass Game In May 2024?
Very strong lineup. Many and very good games this month.
Re: Forza Motorsport 'Update 8' Arrives Today, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Re: Square Enix To Include Xbox As Part Of 'Aggressive' New Multiplatform Strategy
That's great news! Although, personally i am not really interested on these square titles, i am really happy that some friends of mine or xbox owners will have now access to these titles. Now, let's see if the internet will keep the same negative energy for PS as it did for Xbox now that PS lost in a night all these exclusives.
Re: Talking Point: Will You Be Playing Through Starfield Again At 60FPS On Xbox Series X?
I 100% the game. But I ll be back to it when the dlc comes out
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 27-28)
Jedi survivor. Game is great so far!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (April 13-14)
Evil West. Game is super fun!
Re: Indie Devs Clarify Their 'Gold Rush Is Over' Comments In Relation To Xbox Game Pass
Re: With A 'PS5 Pro' Now Rumoured For 2024, Where Does That Leave Xbox?
Re: Starfield Wins Steam's 'Most Innovative Gameplay' Award
Re: Talking Point: Overall, How Successful Has 2023 Been For Xbox?
Re: Xbox Game Pass Leads To Huge 'Player Engagement' Spike For Gotham Knights
@Cherip-the-Ripper yeah, you are right about it. 👍 You can play 2 player co-op the main campaign, but only the other mode 4 players. But now the progress carries over for the guest also. I don't know if it has to do with one of the latest patches of the game, but the game specifically asked me if i wanted to replay a mission that i have done on my friend's game as a guest or marked it as done and go on
Re: Xbox Game Pass Leads To Huge 'Player Engagement' Spike For Gotham Knights
@Rioichi yeah, i don't know at which state the game was, when it was launched. 🤷♂️. I played it after it came to gamepass and it was pretty solid in a technical aspect of view and fun also. I just talked about my experience with the game. But isn't it with most games nowdays that they are released pretty much half-baked and they fixed them afterwards?
Re: Xbox Game Pass Leads To Huge 'Player Engagement' Spike For Gotham Knights
@Dan1283
Re: Soapbox: Backwards Compatibility On Xbox 360 Isn't Perfect, But I Love It
@ALK Halo 2 plays really nice and smoothly. I played on my xbox 360 and didn't have any issues at all
Re: Gears Of War Movie Announcement Coming 'Very Soon' Says Batman Producer
@CrazyJF haha, you nailed it!
