Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

@Weebleman Still wrong! Indiana Jones was never exclusive; it was already planned to be multiplatform before the acquisition. It was even Xbox that insisted with Disney to have a temporary exclusive, which proves that Xbox wants to maintain a certain level of exclusivity contrary to what some think!

Most of the games I mentioned don't belong to Xbox at all, since when? Kena, Sifu, Forspoken, Death Stranding, etc...

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

@InterceptorAlpha an exclusive is an exclusive ! Death stranding on mind of many players is playstation ! There is no difference ! you mention crash and spyro, and the other games ? So i'm right there are more formerly exclusive playstation games on xbox than the other way around ! You haven't proven the opposite, and it's impossible because it's just a fact and cold truth.

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

@Millionski loool ! cod, doom and ow2 are already multiplatform for years before the acquisition of the studios, there was nothing new!

I'm right when I say that you're basing your arguments on nothing but false rumors. There aren't more games going to PlayStation, that's totally false! It's just that Xbox now has 3 times more studios than PlayStation, so they naturally have more multiplatform games than before but also more exclusive games than before for the same reasons!

If you look closely, there are more former PlayStation exclusives going to Xbox than the other way around: Crash Bandicoot / Spyro / Death Stranding (the sequel will follow the same path even faster) / Persona 3 Reload / Sifu / Kena / Forspoken / Metal Gear Solid HD Collection /Final Fantasy VII /Kingdom Hearts /MLB The Show /Nioh / etc...

Most of them are third-party games, but most of PlayStation's exclusive games are third-party, and they have fewer and fewer exclusive games because third-party publishers are less and less willing to create games for a single console (except for small studios). And most of these exclusive games are temporary !

Xbox has only sent 4 formerly exclusive first-party games, nothing more! When you look at Death Stranding, for example, there is no Xbox game with that level of popularity that has been sent to PlayStation. The reality is that there are more former PlayStation exclusives on Xbox than the other way around, these are just facts, not rumors, prove me wrong.

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

@OldGamer999 "it needs to better than PS5 Pro" loooool, It's not going to be very complicated given the disaster of this mid-gen.

You're wrong about the consoles; the big difference is that the Xbox ecosystem is much closer to the PC. They can easily attract PC gamers who might consider an Xbox console or a portable Xbox as a second gaming option. This is not the case with PlayStation, which is in a much more closed environment.

Moreover, you shouldn't focus on console sales; you should look at the MAU (Monthly Active Users), and the MAU of PlayStation players is very low in comparison. Many people buy a PlayStation out of habit but end up playing very little on it.

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

pc, xbox, cloud user base is already much more and will be even much more than playstation userbase. there are pros and cons on pushing games on other consoles, that's why Xbox don't push their games on other consoles, only already mulitplatform games basically. I would not bet on seeing fable, gears, halo, perfect dark, etc.... on other consoles anytime soon, not after a long period of exclusivity.

It's been 2 years that rumors have been saying that, and what has happened? Nothing except 4 small games! Just look at the reality instead of listening to rumors, 99% of multiplatform games were already multiplatform and 99% of exclusive games have remained exclusive. There are even multiplatform games that have become exclusive like Hellblade 2, which totally contradicts your point.

The level of engagement of the PlayStation player base is very low, just look at the poor sales of Final Fantasy or even Astrobot. They are mostly casual gamers who play one or two games a year. PC gamers, on the other hand, are much more active, as are Xbox gamers who have a higher level of engagement.

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

@Bionic-Spencer An Xbox console is still an Xbox, why abandon it? And where did you see that everything was going to be released on PlayStation? Haven't you noticed that Xbox has more exclusive games than PlayStation? Just look at the lineup for 2024 and 2025. Xbox Everywhere mainly concerns PC, TV, cloud, handled consoles and mobile, but obviously not other consoles! Did you see a PlayStation in the "This is an Xbox" ad? No! Well, there's your answer! It's just the fanboys of the blue brand who hope that everything will be released on their beloved console, but the reality is quite different!

And the reason is very simple, Xbox has a real interest in releasing its games mainly where there can be Game Pass! No Game Pass on PlayStation, no Xbox games, it's simple. 99% of the games on PlayStation are mostly already multiplatform games, nothing more, and it'es already very profitable, and 99% of exclusive games have remained exclusive. Even Indiana Jones was planned to be multiplatform before the acquisition, it was Xbox that insisted with Disney to have at least a temporary exclusive.

Re: Next Xbox Console: Everything We Know So Far About Microsoft's Next-Gen System

fatpunkslim

Great move to skip the mid-gen and release the next-gen in 2026 for the 25th anniversary of Xbox! With plenty of exclusive games at launch, and many titles that could be released during this period like Gears, Perfect Dark, Blade, it could be a hit. Especially if this console also allows playing games from other stores like Steam.

The first Xbox was released on November 15, 2001, which would make the next Xbox release in November 2026, just in time for the Christmas holidays and almost in 2027! So, in a little less than 2 years, it doesn't seem shocking to me since there hasn't been a mid-gen between the two!

It's not too early as some say, 6 years after the release of the Xbox Series X. which is already a lot. PS can afford to wait since they recently released a mid-gen.

Re: Microsoft Is Expanding Xbox Cloud Gaming To LG Smart TVs In 2025

fatpunkslim

@LtSarge You can't say that, the servers are much better today, the limiting factor is your local network connection. Move to a city where there is real internet! lol

We can't complain that Xbox offers more choices. I agree that cloud gaming isn't perfect yet, but don't forget that you're not really paying for it today. What you're paying for with Game Pass Ultimate is mainly the game catalog.

Re: Microsoft Is Expanding Xbox Cloud Gaming To LG Smart TVs In 2025

fatpunkslim

Cloud gaming is evolving; it is much better than it was two years ago, and it will be much better in two years. The same goes for Wi-Fi; Wi-Fi 7 is 10 times superior to Wi-Fi 5.
Xbox has taken the lead in this area and has already anticipated the improvement of connections.

Moreover, Xbox Cloud Gaming is still in beta, which proves that it is far from reaching its optimal performance. Xbox is likely preparing a major update for Xbox Cloud Gaming in 2025 to exit beta and release a final, significantly more powerful version.

It is important to note that for now, Xbox Cloud Gaming is not a standalone service; it is included in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, so we do not pay directly for cloud gaming, unlike GeForce Now, for example. It is also possible that in the future, Xbox will offer a plan specifically for the cloud, a kind of Game Pass Core + Cloud. The Game Pass Ultimate will always remain the ultimate plan with all services (complete game catalog on PC and consoles, cloud, EA).

Re: Yes, The Outer Worlds 2 Is Another Xbox-Developed Game Heading To PS5

fatpunkslim

The first was multiplatform, so the second is multiplatform, where's the surprise? With 3 times more studios than PlayStation, and 3 times more games produced by Xbox, they can very well create 1/3 of the games for multiplatform, and 2/3 for exclusives. The latest annual report and Matt Booty have already confirmed the importance of exclusive games, it remains a good balance.

Note that Obsidian is working on 2 games, Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2, one being exclusive, the other being multiplatform.

Re: Xbox's Hellblade 2 Brings Home Multiple Awards At TGA 2024

fatpunkslim

It's well deserved, Hellblade 2 definitely deserved to be at least nominated for GOTY and even to win in my opinion, given its original concept, meticulous and emotional staging, well-written story, and the significant difference it made compared to other games in 2024. Not to mention the graphical masterpiece of 2024! Many arguments make this game my GOTY, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

fatpunkslim

@Ilyn : This is where you make a mistake. In trying to stand out as an objective site that critiques Xbox games objectively because it's an Xbox site, they do the opposite by exaggerating small flaws and downplaying its qualities. It's a kind of psychological bias, and that's exactly what's happening here. The game has far more qualities that slightly outweigh what it considers to be flaws. It's not about overrating Xbox games but rating them fairly compared to other games, and here, that's not the case. You can't seriously give a 6/10 to such a generous and refreshing game that stays true to the atmosphere of the early films.

And besides, there are already enough sites that tend to bash Xbox games just because they are Xbox games, no need to add to it, coming from an Xbox site itself, it doesn't make sense!

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire

fatpunkslim

@Kezelpaso Ben kerry Seriously ? You gave it the worst score, 6/10, seriously? The game currently has an 86 on Metacritic, which is equivalent to a 90 since sites tend to undervalue Xbox games. 6/10 is nonsense! You're obsessed with the first-person view, which actually adds to the game's charm and personality. Instead of seeing the benefits it brings, you're fixated on what you consider drawbacks and can't see past them. In trying to be objective (it's an Xbox game, it's an Xbox site, I must be objective, blah blah), you've actually fallen into the opposite bias, overemphasizing some aspects and not enough others. Very bad review!

Re: Xbox Analyst 'Doesn't See' Microsoft Ditching Hardware Despite New Marketing Campaign

fatpunkslim

"Of course not, when does this marketing campaign talk about abandoning consoles? We can clearly see Xbox consoles in the marketing campaign, right? There's nothing new, just like Xbox has expanded to PC, it hasn't abandoned consoles either. And now, it's the same, they are developing on consoles, on PC, on the cloud, on TVs, on mobile, which is part of an Xbox ecosystem, and consoles are part of it, that's all! Just asking the question is absurd!

Re: Rumour: Forza Horizon 5 'Will Arrive' On PS5, Despite A Delay From Xbox

fatpunkslim

He said the same thing last year and nothing! Aren't you tired of repeating false rumors? It doesn't seem credible at all! At most, after the release of Forza Horizon 6, it would make sense, while Xbox players are playing FH6, we give them the old FH5, which will make them want to play FH6? That would be strategically interesting, but right now I don't see the point, just another false rumor!

Re: Xbox Introduces 'Stream Your Own Game' Feature With 50 Titles Supported At Launch

fatpunkslim

This is huge ! Now what we're waiting for is the end of the beta phase of xCloud with a real leap in terms of quality AND other games added to the list !

So in a 'play anywhere' logic, we have the choice to play it in the cloud on these different devices : Xbox console, PC, TV, etc., but also to be able to install it on a console or PC for practical reasons or because there is no internet in some areas or the connection is poor. It's a game changer ! A significant added value to the Xbox ecosystem !

Re: Starfield Update 1.14.74 Out Now, Here Are The Full Xbox Patch Notes

fatpunkslim

@dimey @bobobiwan: I love Starfield too, and when you know the vast possibilities and how huge the game is, with so many quests, etc... you can easily understand that it can’t be resolved all at once. The reality is that there is no comparable game, so you can’t just say, ‘the game should be polished and finished.’ like for any other game.

Moreover, the game hasn’t just had bug fixes but also many evolutions. Honestly, the game has been very stable for several months now and has no blocking issues. Personally, I’ve played New Game+ several times without encountering any problems.

Re: Sony's Next Acquisition Could Have A Big Impact On Future Xbox Releases

fatpunkslim

Given the poor management of their recent acquisitions, notably with Bungie or the closure of 5 studios this year, it would be surprising if they allowed themselves to be bought out like that, or at least not without major concessions and guarantees. Elden Ring and Dragon Ball, for example, have been huge successes in terms of multi-platform sales. And when you see the sales flop of recent PS exclusives like Until Dawn, Concord, the latest FF games, or even Astro Bot, which sold only 1.5 million copies despite all the marketing around it, Kadokawa shareholders will never accept an exclusivity policy.

Besides, I’m not sure that’s what Sony wants either; I think they’re taking the same direction as Xbox with a hybrid policy that mixes exclusives and multi-platform. This is what Sony’s management declared not long ago, leaning more towards multi-platform, as they need to adapt to the market’s evolution.

Re: Surprise! Xbox's Avowed Has Been Confirmed For Another Platform

fatpunkslim

lol ! What a disappointment for ponies ! Phil's strategy has created false expectations, it's working. It generates publicity and a desire to play Xbox games, leading to Game Pass subscriptions, game purchases (Xbox Store, Steam, Battle.net), or buying an Xbox. They win in all cases, and the player benefits too because they have choices !

Re: Rumour: Xbox's PS5 Ports Have 'Slowed Down' Following Indiana Jones Announcement

fatpunkslim

It's funny that we talk about exclusives but currently Xbox has never had so many exclusive games, and even more than PlayStation. And some are still discussing that Xbox will release their games on PS5 when there were only 4 a year ago, knowing that Indy is a Disney license. I don't see the debate at all. It's clearly not at all part of Xbox's strategy to send its big first party games to other platforms. As for this false rumor, one more!

Re: Rumour: Xbox's PS5 Ports Have 'Slowed Down' Following Indiana Jones Announcement

fatpunkslim

@FuzzieGinge88 It's always the same discussion, pseudo experts who think that Xbox will make more money by putting all its games on PlayStation. It’s so simplistic and binary. If it were that simple, Xbox would have done it a long time ago. If they don't do it, it's not a good strategy to do that, it's only thinking in the short term. But Xbox thinks in the long term, that's why they will never put their big licenses on other platforms, ever! Not because of the fans, but simply because it's not good for business! your analysis is too simplistic and you have misunderstood Xbox's strategy

Re: Rumour: Xbox's PS5 Ports Have 'Slowed Down' Following Indiana Jones Announcement

fatpunkslim

"Most of us know by now that Xbox has begun bringing select titles to PS5 this year, with the trend"

lol, there is no trend, it's been a year since we heard this song and there have been lots fake news and nothing happened.

Only 2 old GAAS of 5 and 8 years (SOT and grounded) and 2 small games (pentiment and hifi rush). Indy is a Disney license. All games released and announced are either exclusive or already historically multi-platform.

We need to stop giving credence to these rumors! Were you the first to complain that there was too much fake news at one point and now you're back to spreading these rumors?

There has never been any plan from Xbox to make all its games multi-platform and even strong licenses like halo, gears, forza and many others.

If exclusive games weren't important to Xbox, what's the point of signing exclusives with third-party publishers? Again at the last xbox partner preview, 4 exclusive games were announced: 5 games day one on gamepass: Wuchang, Subnautica 2, Eternal Strands, Wheel World, FBC: Firebreak
4 Xbox exclusives (xbox console and PC): Blindfire, Subnautica 2, Mistfall Hunter, The Legend of Baboo. We could cite others like stalker 2 or ark 2.

The problem with these false rumors is that afterwards, there is no debunk to say "oh, sorry, in fact, it was false!"

Re: Xbox's Activision Blizzard Deal Officially Blocked In The UK

fatpunkslim

There is no notion of weight in their report, they only assess the potential negative risks, however small, without taking into account the positive effects, however large. And objectively, better competition in the console market and in the mobile market represent far greater benefits than the possible negative effects in a market as small as cloud gaming.

The reality is that the CMA does not protect the consumer but the dominant position of sony in the console market, the duopoly of google and apple in the mobile market, they prevent millions of players (nintendo, geforce now, boosteroid, .. .) to play activision blizzard games, and all this under the bogus pretext of cloud gaming, a market that represents very few gamers, very small compared to the console market and the mobile market. Their argument of making activision games exclusive to the xcloud when they will be multiplatform is ridiculous, proof that it is false with the partnerships signed with cloud services precisely. Putting cloud gaming on the same level as the console market and the mobile market is still damn inflated, their argument is extremely weak and will not be able to stand up to a real court.

Also, I have the impression there is a confusing between gamepass and xcloud. The gamepass is a catalog of games accessible for download, it is not cloud gaming. The success of the gamepass is due to the fact that there are day one games on it and a catalog of quality games. The Xcloud which is good for cloud gaming is only accessible via the gamepass ultimate, I don't know the numbers but it's certainly a drop in the bucket for really active players on Xcloud. They speak of a growing percentage, but that's normal because it's a new market, but in terms of volume it's peanuts and we don't know the future of this. It's not MS's fault if stadia went broke, if sony doesn't want to invest in cloud gaming, or if amazon with luna is struggling to take off.

It will do as with the FTC, the CMA will be totally disavowed and discredited in front of a real court. Their lack of objectivity and their ideology will definitely kill its authorities, which is a shame because they have a role to play, but with solid and credible arguments, not under bogus pretexts to actually hide a political trial.
