That is indeed true but tell me how many exclusives does Xbox have? 1st and 3rd party?

@Fiendish-Beaver yes indeed. Exclusives do matter in such a way and Sony still does the 3rd party timed exclusives. The era of timed 3rd party exclusives hasn’t ended because Sony and to an extent, Nintendo both engage in this. Nintendo still has their 1st party exclusives line up which is why people buy those consoles. Same with PlayStation consoles (but they put games on PC a few years later but it still works and Sony keeps their PS player base growing despite this)

This may come to Switch 2. I don’t know about Xbox though but it could happen

@fatpunkslim Resident Evil has been multiplatform day 1 for a good long while. Requiem being multiplatform day 1 is not new.

They're using the Switch 1 version of the game for the Switch 2 port. It just looks little bit more better but it does run well at 60 FPS. Even on Switch 1 (which runs at 30 FPS), it runs fairly well as well.

@Sindayl Marvel Tokon Souls is a PS5 console exclusive. It will be on PC as well. I think PS is publishing the game.

Besides Hades 2 is also coming to the Nintendo Switch 1, so those on Switch 1 and want Hades 2 don't exactly need a Switch 2 right now to play Hades 2.

Slight correction: The game is also coming to the original Nintendo Switch as well. Supergiant said this on their Twitter recently. So the first consoles to get Hades 2 are the Nintendo Switch 1 and the Nintendo Switch 2.

So its not a Switch 2 console exclusive. It is a Nintendo console exclusive while game is also releasing on PC at the same time.

What Doug said makes sense. The Switch 1 has 150 million consoles sold (nearing PS2 levels) and they realize that some people will not be able to afford the Switch 2 immediately at launch and that is okay, so basically they're having the Switch 1 as an option for the people and will continue to support it for as long as necessary they will do as they do not want to alienate them fully. The PS2 got games until 2012. The PS4 is still getting ports of games. So the same can happen here right? And like one other comment said, Don's comment is more like "treating those who couldn't get Xbox One because they didn't have internet connection like 2nd class citizens" and Doug's comment is more like "Hey if you can't afford the Switch 2 right now, that is okay, we will continue to support the Switch 1 for the foreseeable future".

I expect the Switch 1 to get more games (Hades 2, Shadow Labyrinth, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Tomodaichi Life Living the Dream, etc.) so the Switch 1 people will not be completely left in the dark.

@acmiguens I think it’s more Series S will help Switch 2 get more games than the other way around mainly because of Microsoft’s parity clause (where every Series X game has to work on Series S). Not only that but the Switch 2 is likely to sell decently well and it will also be a big hit in Japan most likely (it’s cheaper in Japan).

Besides developers can always use the “not enough player base on Xbox” card when it comes to 3rd party games.

Will I get Switch 2 at launch? No. But will I get it eventually? Yeah I will.

Game price will be an issue but so far MK World is 80 while others are likely to be 70 at most (might be lower at 60 depending on the game). But Nintendo games are generally highly quality so.. yeah let’s wait and see.

@Dan1283 where did I say I am defending Nintendo? All I said is that “flexible” meaning the game price vary depending on them, some are 70, some are 60, one is 80, and some are lower? And I did say the price of MK World is a bit steep.

It’s also just a fact that despite the price, people will still buy it.

@HonestHick They're salty over the fact Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade hasn't been announced for Xbox yet while it got announced for Switch 2.

Its worth noting that Nintendo is being more flexible on pricing. This game costs 80 dollars while Donkey Kong Banzana will be 70 dollars.

Still 80 dollars is a bit of a steep. Just makes me wonder how much GTA 6 will cost.

But regardless, people are still gonna be buying this.

Sony is more likely to put games on Switch/Switch 2 (mainly Japan Studio games) albeit indirectly. Clearly they don’t see Nintendo as competition and they’re even working together (Zelda movie), but Sony sees Microsoft as competition. I honestly don’t think Sony needs to put games on Xbox for a long time.

I really don't think Sony HAS to port games to Xbox while Xbox HAS to port games.

Rise was a timed exclusive for one platform on day 1. Wilds launched on multiple platforms day 1. So ofc Wilds will sell better at launch than Rise.

@StonyKL Sony MIGHT put some of their games on Switch 2 but I don't see them putting it on Xbox. Unless if its one of those 3rd party exclusives.

Honestly at this point, Xbox should just go full 3rd party and release everything on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo as well as Xbox consoles .

@IOI Again a lot of people don't understand. FH5 going multiplatform to PlayStation 5 (and potentially the Nintendo Switch 2) is like giving away Gran Turismo, God of War, Mario, Zelda away to Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo respectively.

And as I said previously, if Xbox consoles are gonna continue to decline then 3rd party companies will start skipping it seeing that there is no value in it. They will instead go to PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2.

PlayStation and Nintendo have no reason to put games on Xbox when their hardware is doing well. PlayStation's main issue is that their games cost way too much money to make so I think PlayStation porting games to PC day 1 will eventually happen down the line. Nintendo is doing its own thing and are successful in their own way and won't go multiplatform. Multiplatform will actually kill Nintendo.

@NintendoByNature Its not a matter whether Halo or Gears of War will go multiplatform or not, its WHEN will it happen now.

@Fiendish-Beaver you are absolutely correct. Baffles me how a lot of people don’t quite understand this. I would also like to mention that 3rd party for Xbox will dwindle if more Xbox players jump ship to PlayStation or PC which lead to lower player base on Xbox consoles.

An Xbox staple on PS. I expect this game to come to Switch 2 as well. Now you may say you don’t care about exclusivity but do exclusives sell consoles? Yes. So if you give away your exclusives, would more people buy your console or not? And if the console doesn’t sell well, you’re at risk of losing 3rd party support. So if 3rd party games start skipping Xbox, don’t be surprised.

@Westernwolf4 tbh we would probably see Sony’s first party games on Switch 2 before Xbox lmao.

As long as Sony continues to go ahead with the PlayStation which sells more in hardware than Xbox, I don’t see them needing or having to port any of their 1st party games for a long time. Perhaps they’ll port more to PC is more likely but staggered enough to where it won’t hurt hardware sales.

The reason why I said Xbox is gonna be even far worse off if they port Halo to Switch 2 and PS5 is because this is the game that made Xbox what Xbox is. Giving Halo to PlayStation and Nintendo is the equivalent of giving away God of War and Mario to competing platforms.

And the moment it does that, it will be officially done for Xbox.
