Re: Palworld Dev Pocketpair Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

@Dm9982 oh I know they’re not monopolizing the genre. It’s just that some comments here and in NL think that way despite most of us knowing it isn’t. So I just pointed that out here.

If Palworld is indeed using this patents, then they had it coming.

Re: Palworld Dev Pocketpair Responds To Nintendo Lawsuit

@Savage_Joe a lot of misinformation has happened because a lot of people believe it is copyright and think Nintendo is monopolizing an entire genre. When that’s not the case (SMT, MH Stories and such exist).

And supposedly, this patent was filed in May of this year and approved in August or September this year IN THE US. It MIGHT be that this supposed patent was approved earlier in Japan around somewhere in 2021.And this case will most likely be using the Japanese patents.

We are not sure if this is the parent in question. Nintendo mentioned multiple patent infringements. I heard another theory that Palworld was using one of Nintendo’s patents that they patented for BOTW/TOTK.

I think more or less the way THEY CODED THIS might be the reason why Nintendo found them. If they coded the same mechanic, but used slightly different code then this lawsuit wouldn’t happen. If they used the exact same code, then it will be troublesome.

Oh and this will likely take 5 years to be resolved unless they settle it out of court.

So Palworld has responded to this and they said they are "unaware" of the specific patents they have been accused of infringing upon on. I will also point that a lot of people have actually tagged TPC and Nintendo about this game earlier as well. AND FOR THE LAST TIME, this is a PATENT infringement not a COPYRIGHT. PLEASE read the article more carefully.

"ensure that indie game developers are not hindered or discouraged from pursuing their creative ideas". I am sorry but didn't your own CEO say he doesn't have a creative vision??? And not only that but doesn't one of your own games literally seems to be 1:1 copy of HOLLOW KNIGHT?

If it was copyright, why hasn't Nintendo gone after Yo Kai or Monster Hunter Stories, or SMT/Persona??? They are not claiming to own an entire genre. There is a bunch of monster collecting games on the Switch. Now I am not sure who will win here, but. BUT IF PALWORLD has been using Nintendo/TPC , then they had it coming.

And also seriously. A lot of these people have been sending death threats to Nintendo and TPC. Grow up. You are no better than Nintendo. You're just as bad. Or in fact, WORSE.

Re: Nintendo And The Pokémon Company File Lawsuit Against Palworld Developer

@NEStalgia so according to some people in NintendoLife, there are 3 patents Nintendo has regarding Pokemon (20240100432, US11782898B2 and US11782898B2). So these patents deal with software, coding techniques, Data base infrastructure. So its not copyright that TPC is going for but patent. If Palworld is using those patents, then it is a big deal.

I would like to thank @HeadPirate for this information.

Re: Black Myth: Wukong Xbox Delay Reportedly Tied To PS5 'Exclusivity Deal'

anoyonmus

There is literally no exclusivity deal in place at all. It’s not hard to understand that. There was no mention of console exclusivity in Sony’s trailer or anything. If it was, it would be mentioned “console exclusive”. And Sony would make it known it is a console exclusive.

The reason it hasn’t come to Xbox is because of the Series S simple as that.

Re: Phil Spencer On Game Exclusivity: 'We Have To Anticipate There's Going To Be More Change'

anoyonmus

@WhiteRabbit there is also that which lead to delays like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Wukong.

At least with the PS5, it’s the same specs except one is digital only.

Same with Switch. 3 iterations with slight differences here and there, but the specs in all 3 are the same.

And Nintendo is fully an entertainment company unlike Xbox and PlayStation which are only brands of a bigger corporation (Microsoft and Sony) who indulge mainly in other things with gaming being only one of them. Nintendo is pretty much fully gaming along with other entertainment forms like toys, merchandise, theme parks and movies. Them going multiplatform and PC would kill their console business.

Re: Phil Spencer On Game Exclusivity: 'We Have To Anticipate There's Going To Be More Change'

Sony will never bring games to Xbox. They don’t need to. Xbox doesn’t have a big enough user base to give them money. So enough of the talk, Sony won’t put games on Xbox.

If you bring up MLB and Bungie, first of all MLB demanded that the games go multiplatform if Sony wants to keep making them. And Bungie has demanded that their games stay multiplatform during the acquisition.

And Nintendo will NEVER put games on PC or other consoles. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to rethink some more.

Re: Poll: How Would You Grade Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024?

anoyonmus

@Tyrant_T103 Exclusives exist because to sell consoles. That is why exclusives exist and that is also why consoles exist.

Why do you think PlayStation and Nintendo outsold Xbox this generation? Exclusive and good games is one reason. That is why they sold a crazy amount of consoles. If you have good exclusives, people will pick up your console. That's why PS4, Switch, and ig PS5 sold a lot of units compared to Xbox consoles.

"Does it harm us that it's also going to be on PlayStation"

Unless you own a PS5, then you benefit from this. If you do not, then it actually does harm you because what is the point of having an Xbox? Don't bring the Game Pass argument because Sea of Thieves and other Xbox games sold incredibly well on PS5 despite the lack of Game Pass. PlayStation users will most likely not mind paying 70 dollars for a good game. If more Xbox games come to PlayStation, then there is no point in buying a Xbox console. There is no reason to buy an Xbox. If you mention Game Pass, you can also get it on PC too. PC exists as well.

And PlayStation ain't bringing any of their heavy hitter games to Xbox.

Re: Square Enix's Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Returns This October, But Still Not For Xbox

@Beetlebum91 Xbox just don’t have a big install base. Probably why a lot of Japanese and Asian developers skip the platform.

Yeah they do skip the Switch from time to time (but Switch still gets those types of games) , but that’s mainly due to the Switch not being powerful enough. They’ll certainly most likely port them to the next Nintendo console (providing it is successful).

Besides didn’t that one Phantom Blade Zero developer apparently state no one needs Xbox. That dude isn’t entirely wrong but it was very blunt.
