@Lup Nope, 81 out of over 70 reviews on Metacritic on the biggest platform PlayStation.
Although if you love Xbox centric websites and and their 10/10 style score reviews for 5 years in the making, AA games like Hellblade 2 and Avowed.... then look no further than their reviews on Metacritic for Shadows with their over inflated 87 average after only 18 reviews.
I'm just done with these bland open world AC games now. 4.5 years to make this.....the longest we ever had to wait for an AC game (B Team DLC Mirage doesn't count), means it should be the greatest AC ever made. And it is most certainly not even close to that. Not one review I have seen talks about the over double time this entry took to make.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner It makes you wonder how many of the 6.5 million series x owners own a series s too, some even two series s consoles.
The Xbox series userbase is even lower than the actual estimated total series s and x numbers of 25 million because for 4 years straight, most series x owners brag that series s is great and they have one too.
What improvements do ypu mean for the Xbox cloud? Like match PlayStations 4K standard for one thing? And DON'T stream the worst series s version at the lowest res and visual settings to people as the only option (because THAT is the reality of xcloud.... and this is something people myth talk about something Xbox excels at)?
Over a month later from this now and series x stock has not been replenished in stores in Smythstoys in Ireland after depleting to 0 about 2 weeks ago. Currys/PC World have also removed the series x product/SKU from their website entirely. The same with website only retailer Very too.
Series x must have ceased manufacturing at this point because if they aren't shipping them anywhere, they can't be making more of them. Its basic supply and demand and a factor in WHY CONSOLE SALES MATTER. Thank goodness they don't though right?
@themightyant I would argue that they saw how much you make on PS5, not ALL platforms. If PlayStation did the same and brought their games to Xbox, they would see only a small 15% of extra sales only with PC making up the other 15% which they lose a large chunk of since they have to pay for the development and extra time it takes releasing on 2 awkward Xbox consoles.
Lego Horizon released on 3 platforms and one was Switch. It flopped. I'm most certainly not buying a game was built for Switch 1 first and is the complete opposite of cutting edge tech and visuals, something the Horizon series stands for (and there are better more advanced open world Lego games for years).
Going with more platforms does not equal instant better success. I hope Sony learned a big lesson here.
@themightyant And that would have been easily 75% in PS5'S favor had Indiana Jones actually launched on the console in December. Crazy numbers when you break it down.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 broke a million sales. Based on the 3rd party publisher Xbox's numbers, 750,000 of those sales are probably on PS5.
@SodaPop6548 They always could have done it but series s caused complications with parity all that, like it did with most series s/x 1st party games this gen like Redfall and Starfield. They just don't care anymore. Not sure if that's a good thing.
It was going to get a 60fps update regardless. They always lied about the 30fps thing exsctly like the excuses that were talked about with Starfield.
But with the way Xbox consoles are today and slimy Phil blatantly not caring about the fans anymore, they don't care if series s owners will complain about there being no 60fps on day one alongside a series x mode. They are just done with it all.
In 3 months time, everything will be different again and what people think of Xbox.
Its nothing about being a Forza HORIZON fan (there are no Forza fans anymore, they killed that franchise). Its about being an Xbox console fan and if you are fine with this and everything else going to Xbox which is clearly and 100% happening now.
Nope, they weren't Netlfix in 2017 when the service launched.
Halo 5 was the big debut release on game pass when the service launched in 2017 and it was 110gb. Xbox and its absolute tone deaf digital focuse console it was trying to push back in 2013 the Xbone, didn't even have the foresight to have an ability to be able to play a game after a small amount of the download was done (seriously and they were trying to be all DRM and digital remember). "Just another Xbox myth in the category that "Xbox were so ahead in 2013", they really really weren't. So, Halo 5 had to be FULLY downloaded before you could even start it. How is that ANYTHING like how Netflix works??? PlayStation was already there and doing INSTANT cloud gaming since 2014 lol.
And.... they aren't Netflix in 2025. Netflix grew to a 100 million subscribers well before 8 years passed lol.
So please, nip this Xbox and Neflix thing in the bud already, yeah games industry?
@Coletrain It's not just the bitrate. On Xcloud if its a current gen game, they are streaming the SERIES S version of the game to you. So Hellblade 2 is running at those low settings, missing tech AND is around 600p resolution and lower not locked 30 frame rate so the "1080p" max resolution on xcloud is even worse still. How can people use xcloud and not know this. Digital Foundry already did a video confirming this.
@awp69 They had the money to do that 2 decades ago. The problem is they are incapable, especially consistently putting out great games.
Slimy Phil and Co getting more money is a great thing for you now somehow???? Why didn't you ask them to start bringing Xbox games to PlayStation 10 years ago if you're honest?
@Millionski Its Xbox, its a 2025 to 2030 lineup lol. This time last Avowed was DEFINITELY at 2024 lineup game. Nope.
Fable will likely not launch in 2025.
@Coletrain It's fine, Avowed will get 60fps after launch as an "extra". So it won't be embarrassing that series s' 60fps update comes even later. It would do nothing but damage to the brand if 60fps is missing on only series s at launch OR if a 60fps version of Avowed for series s is available day one and how horrible this is going to look.
What I just described is EXACTLY what historicially happened with Starfield and it applies here too. None of this would apply to Avowed if series s didn't exist, including the delay to 2025.... and all the other 2019/2020 games that still won't be out in 2025.
@donv2135 And "only 4 games" and "no Indiana Jones" for PS5. Things change for Xbox every 2 hours lol.
@fatpunkslim Xbox is the only console that is dropping in sales 2 AND 3 years in a row. Stop trying to act like everybody is in the same sinking ship Xbox hardware sales are in right now.
People said the same thing about Hellblade 2 last year. But it ended up being a Reality Check Direct.
Hellblade 2 was ACTUALLY revealed to be "as long as the first game", so this confirmed it wasn't a God of Ware level of a game and that it was clearly AA (nobody knew this before this point no matter how many people claim now that it was always AA). This also revealed that its irrelevant that Xbox bought them and their money didn't make the game a bigger budgeted affair (another claim people kept guessing about the game). It was revealed it wouldn't have a physical edition........ on a game that turns out it would ACTUALLY fit on a single 50gb bluray disc, the only disc format series x supports for games. It was yet another 1st party Xbox game with no 60fps option for series x owners....... because series s exists.
Overall it was a pretty big downer for the game and a lot of people were put OFF the game more after these revelations....... definitely given by how it under performed.
"It should be a good show" but you know it won't be, there certainly is nothing historical to prove otherwise. Hi-FI Rush anyone??? and the state of how Xbox treated that franchise and studio beyond the Developer Direct that game got?
@awp69 Oh they do. They give out loads of convulated, nonsensical scores all time and its embarrassing. They remind me of IGN giving a 10/10 to worst in the franchise Skyward Sword and then giving the same 10/10 to the next game BOTW. Its like, okay, so BOTW is a 5/10 then lol... or BOTW is a 15/10 if SS was a 10?
It diminishes credibility FOREVER. If you like the game, then just stick with that... but don't try to make it out like it getting a 5/5 from notoriously WORST at game reviewing websites out there means something.
And so was Starfield "well received" on its first 2 weeks of slimy Phil, HEAVILY controlled, less than 90 reviews allowed... score. Lets wait for the consensus from real gamers.
@awp69 Why are you shocked about Eurogamer's score? These are the people that said "meh" to GOTY nominated, critically acclaimed, 8 million selling in year one, Horizon Zero Dawn. Then a month later they "Recommended" you go out and buy Mass Effect Andromeda, a STUDIO/FRANCHISE KILLING game, that everyone forgot and wanted to forget about, before 2017 was over.
Their reviews are the most horrendous and games industry damaging out there. And now you know.
I've been saying this the past month or two now so here I go again.
Last year, Starfield and Forza 8 launched on Xbox. BOTH games came in at launch over 100gbs in size. Xbox series x only uses bluray discs that are single layer 50gb in size. These games came on a single disc. A download from Xbox’s servers, is needed to play these games and its impossible without it. Its not even on the front of the case, its in small text on the back of the game case.
And then slimy Phil and Sarah talk during the Xbox “business update” last Feb saying how they are committed to game preservation? Lies.
And don’t say its the same on PlayStation, this year, GOTY contender, FFVII Rebirth can ONE HUNDRED PERCENT be installed on an offline PS5 console. The game is 140gbs and came on two 100gb bluray discs. Even recently Black Myth Wukong was just over 100gbs when it launched. With the patches since launch, they managed to get the game under 100gbs for the recent physical release.
Its very likely Xbox won’t ever get a physical version of Wukong because 1 There are only 8 million series x consoles sold in 4 years 2 The game will be way over 100gbs on Xbox because of no kraken compression 3 The game will not fit on a 50gb bluray and it isn’t feasible for them to bother with a three multi-disc release because of step 1. 4 going from the last step, why would the developers of Black Myth Wukong be expected to do multi discs when Xbox won't even do it with their own 1st party games. I say this because I saw Xbox fans going after Remedy for the physical 100gbs sized Alan Wake 2 not fitting on a 50gb bluray disc...... like its a shock it doesn't lol.
Go to the website DoesItPlay and they will give you all the details and updates on different games' physical releases and if its all there on a disc, and if it isn’t and how pointless that release is then. Just recently Stalker 2 is 150gbs on Xbox and still came on a 50gb bluray disc lol. And again, don’t bring up PS, I just gave an example of literally the biggest game this year and how it runs offline on PS.
FINALLY people are starting to talk about physical releases and Xbox. Why did it take so long?
What happened to all the people online saying this was a guaranteed GOTY level game and all thanks being fully funded by Xbox (a 3 month timed deal fully funded this???)?
Ignoring all the problems with this being games that "you own" which most people don't do with game pass ultimate..... is it still limited at 1080p though, which is brought down even more by the fact its the series s versions of all these games that are being streamed.... so like 600p resolution of a low graphics version of Hellblade 2 at 28fps............ WITH Xbox cloud's notorious input lag.
@Fiendish-Beaver Then you are missing the entire problem with Avowed and and Xbox's studio development this gen.
Avowed is 100% getting a 60fps update after launch. But it won't be advertised and it won't be on series s right away either. It CAN'T be 60fps before launch because then series s has to get that option too. But if a 60fps mode was on both consoles right away, what would be the first thing that would be plastered all over the Internet day one? The series s version's 60fps mode and what it looks like running at that, and it will be horrendous. It will be the detriment of the game. The series x version at 60fps will probably be decent, it'll be compromised like most 60fps modes are..... but again, it can't happen right way because series s exists.
You can't be okay with this. Any playing on Avowed you are going to do when it launches, you aren't going to go back and spend even half of what you did when the 60fps update drops like a fart in the wind, and it's only an update so it just counts as an "extra" at this point.... that's why they can do it then. Like with Starfield, NOBODY CARES 6 months later.
And all of this wouldn't happen, if series s wasn't a thing. Don't sit there and pretend there isn't a 60fps mode coming for this cartoony Unreal Engine game. And stop pretending you're okay with this too. You're okay with it because Xbox gave you no choice, and 4 years into the gen, conditioned you to accept it by now.
Gotta keep those subscribers subbed. Just be honest next time though.
It also gets a 5 day early access version too. No doubt just in time, for the 1 minute before reviews go live, like with Starfield. And it will probably get get the slimy Phil special of 50 carefully selected reviews that can only be published for the first 2 weeks of launch, again, EXACTLY like with Starfield.
Somebody, please give this man another gaming award.
@Nexozi Which is weird because by the time it comes out, well over 200 games will likely officially support PS5 Pro and thousand others will get the treatment from the console level boost mode.
Not sure that 😂 was warranted.
And anyway, won't Indiana Jones utilise the PS5 Pro too before Ghost of Yotei, or will Ghost also be released before, January 2021 announced, Indy? 😅 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
^_^
@HonestHick The plan was for a new Halo game at this gen's launch too. They did the same thing in 2018, talking engine improvements and lots of PR fluff.
Slimy Phil even said he couldn't wait for everyone to see the gameplay that was about to be revealed. THIS gameplay reveal was the biggest disaster in gaming history for the Halo franchise.
Think about it, ALL they did was show the game..... and that ended up being the problem. Fool you once, shame on them, fool you multiple times, shame on you.
"Loads of talent on using UE5". Are you for real??? Those devs are busy making their own games that are taking half decades to come out. And this game will be coming to series s like Infinite is on Xbone. They can't make a new game in 2028, for a platform with a console install base of zero.
Aaron Greenburg talking about series x, "60fps will be the standard output, but the architecture allows us to support up to 120fps."
Series s is why cartoony downgraded Avowed will not be 30fps when it launches next year. OF COURSE it will get a 60fps performance mode after launch for series x and then even later for series s.
But the series s version won't be ready for launch, and it's going to look horrendous. They can't release a series x only 60fps mode on a 1st party game, because then they lied in 2020 about series having the exact same visuals as series x games but "only the resolution will be different".
Plus, before release, they CAN NOT show a 60fps version of the game running on series s. It will be the laughing stock of the games industry and the game will burn to the ground before it even launches.
To sum up
1, The 60fps has to come later as an "extra" feature, long after anyone cares about it.
2, Series x can't launch with a 60fps performance mode if series s doesn't have one.
3, series s 60fps mode footage at launch/prelaunch will be the detriment to the game's marketing.
This is exactly what happened with Starfield's 60fps modes after reassuring from the devs the consoles couldn't do it.
What a horrible predicament to be in. And these are 1st party games. Why would 3rd party studios want to have to deal with this complete and utter mess???
And remember, like a lot of their games, this game is still coming nearly half a decade by the time it's going to launch.
Is that a good and logical sound way of looking at why a developer would want to avoid making games for Xbox this gen? Or will yous just flag it as "trolling" or ignore all these carefully explained points?
@BIG3 What was crazy about the last showcase? More games announced with no release dates/years like Gears or the games from 2019/2020 still with no release dates? And the one game that was "2024" Avowed, is 2025 now.
That is crazy. Imagine if Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Spiderman Miles Morales, Horizon Forbidden West and GT7, weren't released yet........ no wait, had NO release dates since 2020. I would've abandoned PlayStation long ago.
I stand by it today, I have no idea why anybody thinks that was a "great" Xbox showcase. Everything they needed to do at that event, didn't happen.
@Gkobz Exactly. Imagine, the hype for 2 months of them being at Gamescom and all anyone remembers and talked about was Indiana Jones for PS5.
@cragis0001 I mean what does something like that entail? Wouldn't an announcement at Gamescom have been better?
Rebirth was only a 3 month timed deal. Since May 29th an Xbox version could be announced, FFXVI since last December, Remake even longer ago. What IS the hold up? Bad communication from slimy Phil not replying to emails???
If Crisis Core Reunion had sold well on Xbox back in 2021, you wouldn't have to be crossing your fingers like this. But it didn't, it was ABYSMAL sales.
Can't wait for slimy Phil to put his "no regret" stamp and sign off on it... exactly like he did 2 days before THAT Halo Infinite first gameplay reveal. THAT reveal that the franchise has never recovered from since.
Maybe get rid of Phil before starting any more Halo projects?
Legend? The guy who did those staged interviews with Xbox architects in 2020, getting them to say that series s will only have lower resolutions but have the same visual set as series x games? That legend?
@EthanMustDie Who said solid 30fps? It's a 30fps target. Never jump to conclusions
In January when it was finally revealed over 4 years later that Hellblade 2 is an 8 hour game and will target 30fps, Xbox fans applauded assuming and saying "I'll take native 4K 30fps any day".
Turns out the game runs at 1070p max on series x, not even Full HD.
It's starting to become very apparent, the situation with series consoles. Avowed will NO DOUBT get a 60fps update, for series x, AFTER it is out.
But they can't make it 60fps on x and not have it on series s. Because series s is the console that the majority of series owners have.... and it's this console that Larry Nelson lied about in streamed live video interviews with the Xbox architect (the big bearded guy) that series s will be great and will only have lower resolutions like 1440p but have the same visual sets as series x counterparts. Like everything back in 2020, this was a lie.
When Starfield got the update for 60fps on series x, nobody even cared, nobody even cared to ask what all that nonsense and excuses was on it being 30fps at launch. Nobody cared too because the game was a dissipated wet fart at this point. I think it even got 60fps update on series s eventually which people cared even less to talk about.
BUT had it launched at 60fps on both consoles and the series s version ran at 500p resolution and settings cranked down to Very Low, it would have been a marketing disaster. So they are going to plow ahead with Avowed for the next 6 months to launch, showing mostly the PC version and the fidelity mode on series x because THEY MUST NOT show series s.
And imagine, none of this nonsense and awkwardness on the entire game development would have to happen if series s didn't exist at all.
"Series s was a mistake" said Smart people in 2020.
@BlueSheepz "They won't sell". Have you seen the pathetic numbers Crisis Core did on Xbox's platforms and this INCLUDES last gen's 45 million Xbones too. Those sales cemented any games not going to Xbox going forward.
Perfect timing. FFVII Rebirth's timed exclusivity for PS5 ends...... tomorrow. So the series s version should be ready to release in 24 hours.
Now I know what you're thinking, the PC version isn't even ready for release tomorrow.
FF16's PC port is launching, 9 months AFTER the timed exclusivity was over.
But wait a minute, I thought Square Enix regretted not releasing Rebirth for PC last Feb....... when a PC port isn't even ready 6 months later lol. So if there was a day 1 PC release, NOBODY would be playing Rebirth right now.
Sorry, I made a big mistake, the timed exclusivity for Remake was only 3 months and ended on May 29th 2024.
So where are the PC and Xbox versions then?????? Oh right, another year and a half away at least if Xbox's 1st party 2020 announced games are anything to go by.
But Rebirth would have sold SO MUCH MORE last Feb if the game took another 18 months to develop lol.
@Elbow The reviews of Starfield were a relief too then. Only 50 were allowed to be published the first 2 weeks it launched. You think Previews are any more honest?

"It should be a good show" but you know it won't be, there certainly is nothing historical to prove otherwise. Hi-FI Rush anyone??? and the state of how Xbox treated that franchise and studio beyond the Developer Direct that game got?

Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire
Re: Review: Indiana Jones And The Great Circle (Xbox) - A MachineGames Misfire
@awp69 Why are you shocked about Eurogamer's score? These are the people that said "meh" to GOTY nominated, critically acclaimed, 8 million selling in year one, Horizon Zero Dawn.
Then a month later they "Recommended" you go out and buy Mass Effect Andromeda, a STUDIO/FRANCHISE KILLING game, that everyone forgot and wanted to forget about, before 2017 was over.
Their reviews are the most horrendous and games industry damaging out there. And now you know.
Re: Xbox Fans Plead With Microsoft: 'Don't Forget About Us Physical Gamers'
Its very likely Xbox won’t ever get a physical version of Wukong because
1 There are only 8 million series x consoles sold in 4 years
2 The game will be way over 100gbs on Xbox because of no kraken compression
3 The game will not fit on a 50gb bluray and it isn’t feasible for them to bother with a three multi-disc release because of step 1.
Re: Review: Stalker 2 (Xbox) - GSC Game World's Long-Awaited Sequel Is A Mess
What happened to all the people online saying this was a guaranteed GOTY level game and all thanks being fully funded by Xbox (a 3 month timed deal fully funded this???)?
Seriously, where did you all go?
Re: Xbox Introduces 'Stream Your Own Game' Feature With 50 Titles Supported At Launch
Re: Xbox Delayed Avowed Purely Because Of Its 2024 Game Pass Schedule
Re: Xbox Delayed Avowed Purely Because Of Its 2024 Game Pass Schedule
Gotta keep those subscribers subbed. Just be honest next time though.
It also gets a 5 day early access version too. No doubt just in time, for the 1 minute before reviews go live, like with Starfield.
And it will probably get get the slimy Phil special of 50 carefully selected reviews that can only be published for the first 2 weeks of launch, again, EXACTLY like with Starfield.
Somebody, please give this man another gaming award.

@shoeses So remasters would be good in this instant then?
Re: Roundup: All The Reveals From October 2024's Xbox Partner Preview Showcase
@Nexozi Which is weird because by the time it comes out, well over 200 games will likely officially support PS5 Pro and thousand others will get the treatment from the console level boost mode.
Not sure that 😂 was warranted.
And anyway, won't Indiana Jones utilise the PS5 Pro too before Ghost of Yotei, or will Ghost also be released before, January 2021 announced, Indy? 😅 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Re: Halo Enters 'New Dawn' With New Studio Name, Engine And Games

Re: Xbox Wants More Feedback From Devs, Including Why Some Are Avoiding The Platform
Because of the lies in 2020.
https://x.com/aarongreenberg/status/1258378640087060481

Re: Roundup: All The Reveals From The Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 Event
Re: Xbox's Tokyo Game Show 2024 Broadcast Airs Later This Month
Re: Xbox's Longtime Halo Developer 343 Industries Is On The Lookout For A New Creative Director
Re: Xbox Legend Major Nelson Asks For 'More Varied Experiences' At Lower Price Points
Legend? The guy who did those staged interviews with Xbox architects in 2020, getting them to say that series s will only have lower resolutions but have the same visual set as series x games? That legend?
A legendary con man.
Re: Obsidian Says Avowed Is Running 'Really, Really Well' On Xbox Series X, Despite 30FPS Target
Re: Final Fantasy Dev Insists The Future Is Bright For Square Enix Games On Xbox
@BlueSheepz "They won't sell".
Have you seen the pathetic numbers Crisis Core did on Xbox's platforms and this INCLUDES last gen's 45 million Xbones too. Those sales cemented any games not going to Xbox going forward.
As slimey Phil says, it's just business.
Re: Final Fantasy Dev Insists The Future Is Bright For Square Enix Games On Xbox
Re: Avowed Early Previews Are Looking Positive Ahead Of Xbox Game Pass Launch Next February
@Elbow The reviews of Starfield were a relief too then. Only 50 were allowed to be published the first 2 weeks it launched. You think Previews are any more honest?
